Granny Ruoxin’s story always makes me cry. ( If you haven’t talked to her.) She was a famous actress in her youth who had planned to settle in Mt Qingce with her lover. But he went out to sea promising he would come back, but never returned. Even now she still waits for him and it breaks my heart for some reason. I guess because she believes he may have moved on with someone else. So now I’m on a quest to NOT only find my brother, but to find her lost lover too. The quest isn’t a legit one, but it moved me so much that I’m doing it lol Locked her little keep safe artifact too, so I can shove it in his face when I find him... ya know if he’s not passed on.
He might really have died, even if he didn't there's a chance he might have hit his head during a strong storm or something, causing amnesia. This is just a thought
One of the many places that I took a big chunk of my time in genshin to basically just chill and take a few screenshots. This village exactly describes my dream place of living. So beautiful
I remember having to climb up the highest peak in qingce for the ruins quest and god it was dark and stormy during the climb, but as I reach the peak, dawn crept up over the horizon and the sky cleared and I get a eyeful of the beautiful expanses of liyue.
I'm trying to do the quest and I can't find the anything at the "highest peak". Perhaps it might be located somewhere else but that's literally the highest peak I've seen near Qingce Village
@@misscaramel9131 you need to interact with the statues for the quest item along with a luxurious chest, and wdym "can't find anything" there's literally a geoculus there at the very top of the tree
idk if its just me, but every time i go to qingce village, i get all emotional-- whenever i see the children and the elderly people, just having their peaceful lives, i shed a lot of tears-- not to mention this heartwarming music playing.
This ost is sad and nostalgia for a good reason. People in Qingce village are mostly elderly people and children, while young adults work at Liyue Harbour. Those people in Qingce were left behind。If we compare this ost with the one from Liyue harbour, that one sounds much happier than this one.
That's pretty common in china. Young adults move the cities to work and send money to their parents. And at new year everyone return home to celebrated.
The way I like to look at it is that the calm tone of the village's themes also reflect how the villagers are happy with just the simple things, and how the elderly have come into terms with the life they've lead as the twilight of their lives happen.

We had tons of fun there, she was the one who got me into genshin too...But yeah, she did ghost me and blocked me after a few months for some reason, so the bittersweet music of Qingce just sums the experience well...Without her I wouldn't have discovered this amazing game, but now whenever I lurk around in Qingce it just comes back to me and the music makes me cry...I guess life just goes on.
Can someone tell me why Quingce’s music is so emotional yet happy? Is it the chords/notes it’s being played in? The composition? The arrangements?? I’m legit crying over here.
It's the story about the old village elder, who waited for her lover all her life but never came back. The chord progression is actually quite common in anime using much 4th minor to create that contrasting happy-sad tone. It's a nice mixture of modern/western chord progression and oriental/Chinese pentatonic melodies. (Pentatonic meaning avoiding using the 4th and 7th note in a scale in the melodies. Doing that makes that signature "oriental" sound).
That's not a question that can be answered in just a youtube comment; every aspect of the music, from the texture, orchestration, melody, harmonic choices, etc. play a part. The answer to your question would be yes to everything; yes to the chords, the notes, the harmony, everything.
One noteworthy little thing someone pointed out in another upload of the Evening rendition of this song, the entire theme of the Village is "A Bittersweet Paradise", which I think sums up the villagers very well.
I still remember the first time I saw Qingce Village last year after climbing a huge mountain and thought it was so beautiful. The different colors of the fields, the sunset, and the music just tied the whole thing together.
