    Eric changed the rhythm and timing to compliment her. Notice those gospel chords? He kept it in the bag so she could fly. It’s about the music, they both were perfect.

    I’m no singer, but what made this rendition of the National Anthem so unique was the combination of the country that Eric Church and the soul that Jazmine Sullivan brought. This should be a single.

    What a great reaction and video explaining the two different methods they use. Loved it. As an Eric Church fan, I admititdly only knew of Jasmin Sullivan by name, but I was blown away by her during the national anthem.
    Church knew going into it that he was going to have a tough time singing it. During an interview Apple Music he mentioned that he always said he would never sing the national anthem unless it was at the Super Bowl knowing that he would never actually be asked to do it. Even when they did ask, he still said no until he heard her voice and knew he couldn't ever pass up the opportunity to sing with her.

    These 2 were perfect just perfect toghether they complimented each other, everything went toghether flawlessly, the guitar his voice, her voice, the style they chose to sing the anthem in. Pure honey for my ears. ❤❤❤

My first time watching, I loved it I liked and subscribed as well as commented. 🎉💓 Thanks Much. Much respect and love.

    love your analysis 😁. in the pre-ending I hear they emphasized different words Church chose "home" while Sullivan chose "the"; timing was a bit off but she recovered making that moment one of my favorites of the performance.
    Another YTr said she came in early, but I don't know that it was early just more inflection on different words if anything.

    To be fair, Jazmine had a couple timing issues on this performance, one of which was in the pre-ending you mentioned when she sang "of the". She was actually too early which is why she embellished and did the few extra notes - which was quite genius of her. That wasn't Church. He was on the money. They both were excellent though.

    I saw a video on TikTok (not sure if it were true) saying that Jazmine got ready to flip to a higher note on the "home of THE.." a little too early so she had to improvise and put in a middle note before hitting the higher one.. if that makes sense lol so it may be why it seemed a little off to a musical ear.

    This was a phenomenal and unique pairing. Eric represented the good ole heart of America country version countered with a good ole gospely version by Jazzy. The outcome is iconic. Eric sang the song straight and Jazzy just interwove her gospel/bluesy/jazzy version all around it..... Can't think of any other artist that could have done it better.

Just recently subscribed. love your break downs on the legato pitch changes on the Nightwish video... if you have time, i would love to see you react to Disturbed (David Draiman) : The Sound of Silence They did a live version on Conan and then also have the music video.. David was sick when he did the live version and has also had vocal chord surgery many years ago due to using his voice improperly.. however he is classically trained and i would love to see your break down between the two versions.

    A surprise and treat for you! US anthem and Russian folk song, of course with other verses!
    I did a little research, they were created in the same period. the composer is the same!
    The singers first noticed that the anthem was similar to a Russian song, and then they sang it.
    The singer is Sumishevskiy Yaroslav. A rehearsed version starts at 1:30.

    As an European, I cannot understand what all this fuss is about. Before a match of national teams, they play both national anthems and the players sing to it or don't and that's it. But why is there a special person singing the anthem in the US? And why is it played at all in a match on national level? And why are these soldiers in uniform there at a sporting event?

    • @venomousmeek9632

      America is different culturally than Europe. We are founded on revolution and ideology, not history. Most Americans (once they come to understand it) are very attached to the philosophy of this nation’s founding. The least we can do is pay respects to the country at gatherings. We are a very patriotic populous, and normal Americans absolutely love their country.

    • @Nikioko

      @@venomousmeek9632 America? Or just the US? And does the indigenous population feel the same?
      I don't know as much of the US history as you guys, but there is so much - up until today - I would rather feel ashamed than to be proud of. But that is another topic to discuss.

    • @venomousmeek9632
      @venomousmeek9632 3 роки тому +4

      @@NikiokoAmerica is not a continent. North America and South America are continents. America by itself is just another way of saying the US. Some college students don’t like it but no one else cares. The entire story of America is the constant struggle for liberty. No one exemplifies the American story more than the Native Americans and African Americans. It’s hard to explain but America is the idea that every individual person is born with inalienable rights that government has no business infringing on. Anyone who has fought tyranny has the American spirit, especially when they fought the US government. That’s why we have the second amendment. The founders didn’t want people to confuse America with its government. America is the people and their freedom, not the US government and the many atrocities it has committed.

    • @Nikioko
      @Nikioko 3 роки тому

      @@venomousmeek9632 Well, America is of course a continent which is subdivided into two or three subcontinents North, Central and South America. And the US are just a small part of it.
      And the struggle for liberty without any regulation was quite often the freedom of the stronger one. That is the big difference: in European libertarianism, freedom ends at the point where somebody else's freedom is affected. As I can see in many cases, in the US freedom is very often confused with egotism.
      Maybe in the US everybody is born with the same rights but not with the same chances. There are so many underprivileged people. And as the government are the elected representatives of the people, fighting against the government is fighting against the will of the majority. And since the government is elected by the people, the people are of course responsible for the atrocities commited by their elected representatives. Especially if they are re-elected later.
