  • Hi, and welcome back to my channel!
In this video, I'm coming to you from Cunard's Queen Elizabeth cruise ship, and today we're talking everything on the subject of dining. Let me walk you though every single meal onboard this beautiful ship, to help you understand what the world of dining looks like on a Cunard cruise.
It's important to note - while this video is based specifically on the venues and my experience on Queen Elizabeth, this advice should also be relevant for other ships and liners in the Cunard fleet, namely Queen Victoria, Queen Mary 2 and also Queen Anne.
We're going to cover breakfast, lunch, dinner, in-stateroom dining (room service) and also the famous world of Afternoon Tea.
If you do enjoy this video, please consider heading over to my other platforms, where you’ll find totally different content to what you’re seeing on UA-cam. Think room tours, photos of my travels, blog posts and much more. You can even subscribe to my Patreon channel if you would like to show your support. In advance, thank you!

Are you going on Holland America OOsterdam anytime , we are sailing on her mid September 2025 so would love to know your thoughts . Have seen your other Holland America videos but OOsterdam is the oldest and smallest ship I think but the three week cruise is just ports we wanted to visit . Just asking , love your presentations and you looked very handsome in your dinner suit on QE2 .

Hello Fraser...I met you briefly on the QE in August on the Panama Canal voyage. I thought the food on the ship was splendid, and I thought Afternoon Tea was exquisite; nice music, classy service, fresh sandwiches, yummy desserts, and attentive service. I think Cunard's classy afternoon tea sets them apart from all other cruise lines. Good luck to you!

Thomas, how lovely to see your name and message pop up - thanks for this! Hope you got home safely after the trip - what a fortnight that was (for me - not sure if you stayed longer…). I agree - Afternoon Tea on lots of lines is paid lip service, but Cunard are still offering it as a real experience - I’m praying it isn’t subject to future cost savings!
      Thanks again for commenting!!

Fraser - thanks for this! It’s genuinely very helpful. All the videos I’ve watched from you are. And I’m the impatient sort who has little bother for videos- so that’s saying a lot.
You are about 20yrs younger than me, but I find I really relate to your take on things. That’s so refreshing. You are open minded, intelligent and charming. And succinct (omg so important!) Okay - and I could listen to that accent of yours for days! Ha ha. Just saying I’m very impressed and grateful for the insights for my first Cunard trip: your videos make me think it’s a good match for my take on cruising. Cheers

Fraser, another great video. I have a challenge for you. I'd be interested in watching a video on meals in Cunard where you show and talk more about the actual food, rather than the broad descriptive categories. For instance, what is a continental breakfast on Cunard. I eat a continental breakfast every day at home: a croissant, brioche, toasted baguette, cheese, jam, coffee or tea. If Cunard only offered donuts or sugar glazed muffins, I would absolutely hate it. I love egg dishes-but never for breakfast. Also, in other UA-cam reviews, people mention Lobster Thermidor or Beef Wellington. I would find those meals very heavy. I love fish, but I hate salmon. Most people love salmon and consider it a treat. I guess I am asking to see: What Fraser Ate at Sea for 14 Days.

That said, I recall when I was on Queen Mary last in 2008 if you were on the promenade deck in the late afternoon a steward would go by and basically serve tea and the accompaniments to you while you were in your steamer deck chair. Any idea if that still goes on ?

Cunard Queen Elizabeth was the worst experience I had from my first cruise. Terrible food, bad service, and terrible entertainment. Don't bother with the room service as it is the worst of it all plus no table to enjoy the room service . I had the brittania Club balcony stateroom, and all drinks are not included even in coffee. Coffee is only included when dining, but don't worry, the coffee is terrible. The best meal was the burger at the Golden Lion, the verandah was the soup, and the brittania club was the soup. The coffee machine in the room didn't work, and the TV showed bad shows and no movies channel and no wifi that would be extra and it was very slow.

Hello! Ahh, how exciting - I hope you have a great trip! So it’s very difficult to answer, as I don’t know how much you’d drink to get value for money. You’re on the ship all day every day for a TA crossing, but to justify the package you need to drink a fair amount.
I opted to not buy the drinks package, but I’m not a huge drinker - if you just enjoy a few drinks a day, it’s probably not needed, but very specific to you!
