You doing CQB with a 22”?
@@BoonDoggle nope its for the dm in the squad . running an m21 . i use same ammo in my pof renegade plus . i dont do cqb if i can help it .... Lol
@@BoonDoggle if i was gonna cqb id choose .458 socom sub sonic suppressed 10" barrel .no double tap needed .
HINDSIGHT 20\20 always better to keep them at distance. My DMs run 77gr
@@BoonDoggle i like the 77 gr but have expierienced feed issues in the past . using the nosler loads . seemed like the over all case length was a lil long . could have been a batch issue never went back to verify .
I had over 2500 rounds of that ap 556 rounds before .
I consider it to be the best all around
BoonDoggle indeed

Green tip shines out of 20" barrels. Also better for actual combat. 100-300 meters, 20".
I have seen some good results that way
Should also be 1:9 twist for m855
Yeah i was a 0331! Semper yut devil. The 1:7 is so that the barrel will stabilize the m856 tracer round(which is extremely long) fn and colt developed 1:9 specifically for m855, but when the military requested a tracer round they just made the jacket of the m855 much longer reuiring that faster twist.

Only better for barriers. 55g does Everything else better any day. Fragments and penetrates armor better too. Speed is king on 556 not weight. Making it heavier slows it down making a velocity dependent round less effective
77gr. SMK works extremely well out of SBR/pistol length barrels at 1/7. Was used to kill Bin Laden out of a 10.3" MK18. Also, it's more like a dollar a round or higher nowadays.
Yep CQB does work very well. I’ll have to do more testing with Range. I’m very curious on the stability out past 200

You mean the most wanted man alive that they through overboard in the middle of the sea. Plus it was the 911th day Obama had been president. No! Everything you see on the tv is a scripted act.
And you believe that?
M855A1 is too hot and it's not all that great. I bought 5k rnds of 62gr speer gold dot a few years ago for the same money as M855. That stuff will do anything I can do with my colts. If I need more....I'll grab my M1A
Are you serious m855a1 is far superior to any 5.56 it’s terminal ballistics is ridiculously amazing and punches most armors and barriers
Idk why people claim green tips are what the military uses, it’s not. The ammo that is not available to civilians is what we use and we use crappy mags and they cycle fine. Any type of mags that isn’t military is better so it wouldn’t matter.
Military uses both m855 green tips and m855a1. Your not getting a1 unless your sof or seals stop spreading bullshit.
@@HatsuneM1ku01 dude we did use M855 ammo at the range to train, in my years of service we never seen “green tips”. And the M855 isn’t a “green tip” it’s ball bearing, still have some too. So again, idk what “green tips” you talking bout, all I know is ball bearing
556 m855a1 is illegal 🤐🤐
No it’s not m995 isn’t even illegal just hard to get

I'll take green tip over m855a1 any day, those rounds are know for chewing up barrels.
Thats a myth, its just the feed ramps and it takes thousands of rounds. The A1 is a much better round.
Agreed use the magpul m3 magazine. Honestly even if you shoot thousands of rounds how much is a new barrel? It’s like back in the day when people use to say steel case rounds eat up extractors. Umm how much is an extractor $8? VS what you save on training with steel cases?
M193 is better than green tips
The only thing green tips do better is go through barriers better
I want a fragmenting anti personnel round primarily so M193 but if I could get Mk 318 Mod 0 I would rather have both barrier defeating and frag anti personnel round. M855 is a penetrator tipped round and okay for barriers but sucks for anti personnel. M855A1 is a barrel burner and not quite as good as Mk 318 Mod 0.
Ammo designed for deer or hogs would be my first choice. Military ammo is range ammo.
In you need penetration go with a 308 win or 30 06.
@@StackedStoneTech A hunting bullet is a whole other subject and yes SP ammo is a good all around bullet for both anti personnel and hunting whereas ball ammo is not for hunting unless its all I have. So I agree.
@@StackedStoneTech The military does use 308 for penetration and greater range. I think they are trying to ask more out of the .223/5.56 than its capable of. Its not an anti material hard target round. Its a soft target round. It was designed from the .222 by Stoner to kill enemy personnel.
@@rbm6184 My nɔck on the AR10 is weight. People forget 22 lr will shoot through car doors and glass. Most military rounds are designed to wound. The 77 grain had to be approved by JAG, and terrorists are not considered enemy combants. So rules of war dont apply. No civilian loads their 9mm with ball. 5.56 is at 308 win prices, no one typjcally shots a controlled pair with it. I got a 700 m weapon over 300 m. There is nothing in North America i cant anchor with it. Agreed on 5.56 main purpose. Green tip was mostly for body armour. In shtf, there is no trauma surgeons.
Good advice. I think I'm gonna look at buying some of the 88 grain stuff.
