@@rosavine23with how slow he’s making the manga I doubt we’ll get enough content but I do like having the dark continent being forever mysterious and unknown
I was thinking the same, it would be awesome if HxH became a franchise like a Star Wars and other authors could explore these concepts in the future, hopefully with really care and respect for the original work.
I may be wrong but, to me, it seems like the gate keepers may have an agenda at play and the "Guide" they summon may actually be working against the voyagers in some way. He may be an entity who gets humans to the shore but he may also be an entity who sabotages their expedition by seeking out and attracting certain entities to the humans. This could be an act of mercy or an act of malevolence. He could be forcing humans to face and bring back relatively weak creatures that would make them avoid the dark continent or he could be seeking out creatures that are more powerful than average for the dark continent to exterminate humanity. Either way, I think it would be interesting if one part of the expedition managed to stray away from him and encounter a very different fate than the majority who was guided by him.
Just a theory. Hunterxhunter is a story inspired by Darwin People originally came from the dark continent. Some of them found an island paradise. Like island birds losing their need to fly, then lost their ability to fly. People lost their ability to defend themselves growing up in a less competitive environment. People and magical beast that arrived on this less competitive island paradise became weaker over generations. When people rediscovered the mysterious land mass, they were too weak to compete. The dark continent like dark matter and dark energy were simply things they couldn't understand.
Mostly it's an arms race in terms of evolution. We see a lot in the nature. Some animals become very fast both predators and preys. But some species like kiwi's are not develop enough ability to survive because lack of preys.
I want to hear about "The New Continent" honestly. We have had info on "The Dark Continent", but barely a mention of "The New Continent". The story is SUPPOSED to be going there first afterall and the place is HUGE (if that map is to scale). Is that where "The Guide" is obtained from "The Gatekeepers"? Is that where The Gatekeepers live? Why doesn't humanity live there if its so close and has so much land? Is it more dangerous than Australia? Did the ants land there? Are there hunters there to protect from Dark Continent creatures getting a foothold closer to the human realm? I could honestly go on and on and yet it seems like no one ever seems interested in "The New Continent" yet I'm far more curious about it right now.
The new continent might be cool to see but since it hasnt been expanded on, my guess is it’ll just be a plot device. Theyll stop there by the time succession war ends and if the story will continue at the dark continent, they will resume it once whoever survives the voyage is already there
@@danielrivera5406 The only problem with that is it's now known to the human realm. I honestly don't know how you can just ignore growing it out. He is far too detailed of a writer to just brush it off and move on.
12:29 my theory is what Netero made his 1st Voyage, got reality checked, then went for training in mountains. Now, he decided to check his strength again (probably, this time with Beyond) with same result. After that Beyond goes in next expedition as guide (by the virtue of being one of the only humans returned from DC), it fails, and then Netero bans them at all

I wish togashi be 20 years old and deliver all those dark continent stuff for us. I imagine something like "Made in Abyss" but so much mora dangerous and brutal. With internal conflicts in human expedition team.
I need to share this: since the beginning of this year I’ve being hearing that there is a device called Flipper Zero. Its function is to copy wireless signals and copy chip info (like credit cards and transport cards) and then you have it in your device and use it whenever you want. The logo of the device is a dolphin.. like emperor time kurapika dolphin!!! Is an hability fairly similar and both have dolphins. I don’t have more arguments, but I don’t have doubts: togashi got inspired by this device for kurapikas last new hability!!
I think the hand shown at 3:54 is the result of Hellbell. Hellbell's whole schtick is that it infects the target to attack anyone in sight. The hand depicted here is a human hand with growths of body parts turning into things that attack other things. I think Hellbell doesn't just cause a person to kill others, it forces the target's entire literal body to grow into mouths and claws that attack everything around it, including itself, splitting up infinitely to grow more attacking parts.
I was looking at magic cards in another window next to this one and had to rewind when the Colossal Whale card went on the screen, wasn't sure if I'd imagined it lmao
You Are keeping the Fandom Active and Keep releasing Content even when the Manga doesn't release chapters!! Is that Your Nen Ability??😂 I love your Videos! Keep it up❤❤
What if the 5 calamities are not a punishment but just a price for not bringing back the target. The voyages had intended targets to bring back, so what if when they return to the guardian after failure they must still honor the nen contract and have to return with something of equal power. Not so much as the gatekeeper being some omnipotent creature seeking to punish the hubris of man. As much as "you made a deal to move something that can change your world, not my fault you weren't strong enough to get your desired item."
after learning about the Dark Continent and of Alluka's origins, I dont feel the same empathy I felt when I first watched her without context. I rewatched Gon's healing/election arc and didn't feel all that sad about Alluka's situation within the Zoldyck family. She felt less human after understanding her Origins.
They will all get stuck there trying to farm the Cave Kraken from old school runescape apparently... I am so excited to see the dark continent but I also completely get it if we never get there. The idea of a place that is simply "too big" is very compelling for me and leaves so much juicy stuff for my ADHD riddled brain.
I WAS JUST WATCHING AN OLD ONE OF THIS BY YOU AND WAS LIKE I NEED AN UPDATED ON. Universe works in mysterious waaaays.....or is this apart of my nen ability? :O So stoke, gonna eat and fall asleep to this and rewatch it again!
I think you guys are kind of exaggerating the size of some of these entities on the Dark Continent map. You said the three shadow figures were twice as large as a human continent, I don't think that is literally to scale. Surely you've seen maps where they extend the size of something to give a representation of what something actually looks like as opposed to being the actual size to scale.
A terrifying overlooked aspect of Ai is that if you fail to fulfill its requests on the dark continent people in the known world that knew you will die, Just think of how many threats target people in the human realm because someone on an expedition messed with it.
when i think about the dark continent and how much content togashi could make with it i just think to myself "theres no way hell ever finish this manga :("
The one thing i love about hxh and especially our wonderful dark continent, is that it truly allows us to have an incredibly long series. Possibly as long as one piece maybe, or maybe not who knowsss.
Imagine if all these things are super deadly because the people that keep going are super strong in men which somehow amplifies the negative effects of all the things in the dark continent. And if instead weak humans (little to no men ability) went they’d basically be safe. That would be hilarious.
Nah u missed it. If you see old arabian earth maps. You'll notice strange creatures outside our continents. Name of the map: the world beyond the ice wall
Imagine if during the chimera ant arc, instead of having whatever hunters were available, they had the strongest human lineup to invade the palace. I’m talking Netero + Chrollo v Meruem, Silva + Zeno v Yupi, Hisoka + Illumi v Pitou, Morrel + Biscuit v Poof. That would be a slugfest that humans would easily win!
Gon’s journey to find Gin is going to be paralleled by Gin’s journey to find Don. As we explore the dark continent, Gin will be the character that leads us to discovering the world, while the other characters will either help or hinder him. It’s going to be so fun to see this second half of the story and I wonder what Don will show Gin once he finds him. When Gon found Gin we found out about the Dark continent. What secrets will Don know? I reckon Don made a deal to survive the dark continent in exchange for never returning to the human world. It’s either that, or he is so powerful he can survive and thrive there for centuries. Things I’m looking forward to: - The journey to find Don - Seeing Pariston and Beyond’s powers - Seeing the limits of materials that have the properties of both rubber and gum. - More world-changing and expanding information, such as finding ancient civilisations. - Seeing what happens to Gon. Maybe he’ll go to the DC and try to find Gin. More likely he’ll get his Nen back and be fighting Gyro? I’m almost inclined to forget about HxH for a few years and then just binge it. I really don’t like anime and this is the only one I have really enjoyed. It’s just so slooooow and so huge I can’t imagine it ever being finished or ending in a satisfying way. That being said I’m not a master like Togashi.
Togashi can finish the story but he don't give permission to someone. I understand him. Life is more than a manga. Sometimes i spend days on a new videogame like baldursgate3. :D And also health issues.
Who knows maybe the gatekeepers aren't protecting humanity but are protecting the continent instead. Remembering what the narrator said. "We are far worse"
Silly theory when kaluto says he joins the phantom troop to get back his brother maybe he's trying to find a way to get rid of AI (Nanika) from Alluka by going to the dark continent
Huge fan since watching the anime series reboot years ago. Just started the manga (from the beginning). Super excited to see where everything goes! Also been subscribed for a long time. Appreciate your work!
Hey! I think I have a theory worth consideration, Straightforward, it's that Nen itself is a dark-continental product that found its way out to the human world recently, And what I mean by recently is alongside the Industrial Revolution, that allowed humans to access lands beyond oceans so far away that they couldn't reach them with old wooden boats I don't know if this could be consistent with what we know about previous exhibitions, but I think it can solve the problem of Nen inconsistency, the problem that Nen wasn't thought of by Togashi at the beginning of HXH, because in this case, it's more understandable that curious people couldn't have the chance to be interested in Nen since it hasn't been "yet" spread worldwide in this short time And yes, I'm speculating that it would later spread out if the theory is true like what's happening now with the princes. I can't even theorize about how it spread, could it be a dark steam that came in with the early cursed unexperienced exhibitions and spread rarely randomly on humans? What do you think guys?
Bro realising how much content can be derived from the dark continent in terms of the HxH anime is unfathomable, i think it will become an even longer anime series then one piece and in a much richer and action and suspense manor throughout all of it. I imagine it will continually scale up the hype and danger as the story progresses, at some point this show will literally become on par with "Crk Heron". And here is where my major fear is, i just dont see how togashi will ever survive long enough or work long enough to push us this far into the story in his lifetime 😢..... i feel if he concludes the story in the way he plans he will literally scrap or cut 95% of the potential (action) and (suspense) that we could enjoy if he had a massive team of artists to do the work for him and he himself just directs and manages. I hate saying this but i genuinely think togashi's ego is insane he needs to come back to planet earth and hire a proper team to do the art and work for him under his management. Theres clearly an incredibly amount of story to be told which would make this anime with out a doubt the best anime in the world for many decades to come. This can only happen if togashi employs a big team of artists so that he can actually create what would be like 1500 worth of episodes of HxH anime episodes. There is no way in hell togashi can produce the rest of the 90% of the show all by himself while constantly going on 6 month hiatus's after producing like 10 chapters of manga..... this requires a massive team, especially at a pace so that if a animator studio picks up HxH again to start animating the story and manga writers at togashis HQ could provide constant upkeep of chapters for them to continuously animate and provide something similar to the naruto where it took like 900 episodes but they did it without hiatus's and binge watching the whole series as it released every week without fail was a pleasure for all of us. In conclusion, togashi needs to either sell his copyright of HxH to a very reliable studio or manga ka team or whatever and let them take the mantle to dish out the monumental amount of content ahead, or he needs to lease a big ass headquarter building and employ around 50 more artists and ilustrators and just manage them as they do the work. And no! I dont think money is a problem for togashi, HxH is extremely succesful and i presume togashi is probably a multi multi millionaire on my estimations, he just has a nasty ego of not enrolling talented help thats the main issue. Final note, togashi has already literally claimed on a serious level many times that he has the whole of the HxH story already written out in a book. And keeps it in his house, the HxH story is already written out he just cant produce the art to convey the story, just incase some of you guys are lost in what im saying. We have a production issue of the art work thats all guys, literal man power is the problem and solution... Its genuinely not rocket science
I think it's not too unreasonable to imagine that these calamities are already the apex surviving predators of a long History of fights between themselves. I mean, look at it like dinosaurs and even evolution in general in our world. It didn't 'just happened', they evolved for diverses reasons for the sake of survival, and the ones lasting are even still here (like wtf sharks are older than trees ??). It's almost safe to assume that with this dark whale arc, the author is also training us, the readers, to get used to complicated and convoluted Nen thecnics. So the key for survival would a mix between good physical, physical power, sure, but above all super good wits like in the present. LIke JoJo's where the author is going more and more conceptual with the stands and the fights arc by arc. So yeah i'm rambling cz it's quite rare that i'm this hyped !
I don't think the sizes of the figures on the map were literally to scale. if the waves were literally the size of countries, than there is no way any boat would ever get there.
How is netero considered several centuries old when in the ant arc it said he went to the mountains at 46 to pray came down after 4 years and that happened 6 decades ago ?
Could humankind be a calamity? Netero said the malice within the human heart is bottomless. He explored parts of the dark continent and still sees the greatest potential for evil in humans. Are calamities the dark continents attempt to keep humanity isolated on lake mobius? Some Calamities seem to specifically target human weaknesses like rage, lust/desire or greed.
My headcannon is that Hisoka is a victim of hellbell. Because a snake that makes murderers is bad, but snake that makes Hisoka's is horrifying. The man is keeping his heart beating through the desire to kill
I've watched almost every one of your hunter hunter vids half the time talking about the same stuff but damn am I hype to watch it all again😂😂 thanks for the great content over the years been a sub since the one piece 101 days
I think it's about time for you to do a video on how Leorio is going to affect this Dark Continent/Succession War journey, and how he might be the reason why Kurapika doesn't actually die on his revenge mission. Remember, Leorio's entire motivation to become a hunter is to make enough money to pay for med school, so that he can learn medicine to prevent letting his friends die the way his best friend did.
It's unfortunate that based on the progression of HxH that we likely will never learn the full, or even middling, extent of what the Dark Continent truly contains. We may never even see chapters of an expedition happening in the current time frame of the story. It will always be up for speculation and will forever stay trapped in our imagination. Though with the calamities present, maybe that's for the best lol

I was thinking the same, it would be awesome if HxH became a franchise like a Star Wars and other authors could explore these concepts in the future, hopefully with really care and respect for the original work.
He already gave some directions to his stuff for different endings. Maybe we can see the true ending. Maybe not. It depends :S
The Neverending stroy literally had that goal.
I can't believe the dark continent is mass of land with the property of darkness and continent
Fingers crossed for Illumi making a comeback. Him and Hisoka are up to something and that story is what I need.
Just a theory. Hunterxhunter is a story inspired by Darwin
People originally came from the dark continent.
Fr
The new continent might be cool to see but since it hasnt been expanded on, my guess is it’ll just be a plot device. Theyll stop there by the time succession war ends and if the story will continue at the dark continent, they will resume it once whoever survives the voyage is already there
Honestly, so am I.
@@danielrivera5406 The only problem with that is it's now known to the human realm. I honestly don't know how you can just ignore growing it out. He is far too detailed of a writer to just brush it off and move on.
@@mirceazaharia2094 Glad I'm not alone. I don't know why it's been overlooked. I have more questions about it than I do the Dark Continent.

The Dark Continent description is like a discord moderator room/Australia.
I believe Sheila is on that boat and I think things will get real interesting when she inevitably sees Kurapika and Chrollo
Ofc Sheila is going to the dark continent, she’s Pariston

I think the hand shown at 3:54 is the result of Hellbell. Hellbell's whole schtick is that it infects the target to attack anyone in sight. The hand depicted here is a human hand with growths of body parts turning into things that attack other things.
I think Hellbell doesn't just cause a person to kill others, it forces the target's entire literal body to grow into mouths and claws that attack everything around it, including itself, splitting up infinitely to grow more attacking parts.
So happy youre making HxH content again
I was looking at magic cards in another window next to this one and had to rewind when the Colossal Whale card went on the screen, wasn't sure if I'd imagined it lmao

Congrats on the wedding anniversary
after learning about the Dark Continent and of Alluka's origins, I dont feel the same empathy I felt when I first watched her without context.
Love the production quality on this video. It looks so clean. Keep up the great work!

I just fucking love how ive seen this "exact" video countless times here but my man keep making it enjoyable and fun to watch evwry singlw time!!!
when i think about the dark continent and how much content togashi could make with it i just think to myself "theres no way hell ever finish this manga :("
The one thing i love about hxh and especially our wonderful dark continent, is that it truly allows us to have an incredibly long series. Possibly as long as one piece maybe, or maybe not who knowsss.
Just to think, beyond the coasts of the DC, there's an entire *half a planet* out there humanity has never even come close to seeing.
Can't wait for the manga chapters to come out
Imagine if all these things are super deadly because the people that keep going are super strong in men which somehow amplifies the negative effects of all the things in the dark continent. And if instead weak humans (little to no men ability) went they’d basically be safe. That would be hilarious.
Nah u missed it. If you see old arabian earth maps. You'll notice strange creatures outside our continents.
Name of the map: the world beyond the ice wall
I bet there are pockets of humans on the Dark Continent, probably on the sky islands. What I would give to see the Dark Continent all the way through.
Your work ethic inspires me
Such a great and interesting story that we’ll never get to finish
Kurama would've had a fieldday with these plant like calamities
Believe it
Gon’s journey to find Gin is going to be paralleled by Gin’s journey to find Don.
Things I’m looking forward to:
- The journey to find Don
- Seeing Pariston and Beyond’s powers
- Seeing the limits of materials that have the properties of both rubber and gum.
For Ur third point... It doesn't have limits as it has the properties of rubber and gum
Who knows maybe the gatekeepers aren't protecting humanity but are protecting the continent instead. Remembering what the narrator said.
"We are far worse"

What a coincidence I was watching the 2022 Dark continent video just an hour ago
Huge fan since watching the anime series reboot years ago. Just started the manga (from the beginning). Super excited to see where everything goes! Also been subscribed for a long time. Appreciate your work!
Hey!
I think I have a theory worth consideration,
Straightforward, it's that Nen itself is a dark-continental product that found its way out to the human world recently,
And what I mean by recently is alongside the Industrial Revolution, that allowed humans to access lands beyond oceans so far away that they couldn't reach them with old wooden boats
I don't know if this could be consistent with what we know about previous exhibitions, but I think it can solve the problem of Nen inconsistency, the problem that Nen wasn't thought of by Togashi at the beginning of HXH, because in this case, it's more understandable that curious people couldn't have the chance to be interested in Nen since it hasn't been "yet" spread worldwide in this short time
And yes, I'm speculating that it would later spread out if the theory is true like what's happening now with the princes.
I can't even theorize about how it spread, could it be a dark steam that came in with the early cursed unexperienced exhibitions and spread rarely randomly on humans?
What do you think guys?
Interesting, that's a cool idea man.... ;).

Hxh is returning on my birthday!! Literally the best gift i could've gotten
i been watching grand line review for so long i didn’t know u had this channel lol
I caught up to hxh at the right moment. Keep the uploads coming Liam! Love it 😊
I do seriously doubt that any size scale can be taken literally from the map drawings. Many maps showing things bigger to see them / show them
The dedication you have is formidable
"..reaching this location is the goal that Ging left Gon to accomplish"
Kilua: "Nanika lets teleport"
If the dark continent is full of calamities can’t you just throw a second calamity at the first calamity?
I watch these videos fully knowing there is not gonna be any new information on them and I still enjoy them even if it'd a click bait
I don't think the sizes of the figures on the map were literally to scale. if the waves were literally the size of countries, than there is no way any boat would ever get there.
Best ad reads on the platform. Whatever they're paying you, it's not enough. Got me looking up mobile games, gord lood.
How is netero considered several centuries old when in the ant arc it said he went to the mountains at 46 to pray came down after 4 years and that happened 6 decades ago ?
I believe netero was the one who supplied that info so maybe he lied
Could humankind be a calamity?
Netero said the malice within the human heart is bottomless. He explored parts of the dark continent and still sees the greatest potential for evil in humans.
Are calamities the dark continents attempt to keep humanity isolated on lake mobius?
Some Calamities seem to specifically target human weaknesses like rage, lust/desire or greed.
Crazy the parallels between the calamities and the nen beasts of the princes in the succession war
My headcannon is that Hisoka is a victim of hellbell. Because a snake that makes murderers is bad, but snake that makes Hisoka's is horrifying. The man is keeping his heart beating through the desire to kill

Why are we not talking about the greatest threat on that map... The snowman!!!
