If Galidor was successful, I can see them using the action figure base as part of expert collectable lines. The huge fancy cars made of Technic pieces would be scaled to fit a Galidor size action figure of the actual driver. Or a new scale about 2/3 the size of standard Galidor if the sets needs to be a little smaller or scaled down more to be economical. Maybe they can even use Galidor system as 'inner' frame for Bionicle, where the inner frame has the same articulating joints as the Galidor figures, but every segments are lined with Technic holes to build onto. A hollowed torso can be used for minifigure scaled mechs like the Ninjago mechs, but with Gundam level of articulation. Iron Man where Tony Stark is a standard Galidor type action figure, but the Iron Man armor is a separate build that goes on and off the action figure.
In this universe, SlugonPlanetU was a successful youtuber who made LegoRebound videos, the longest being a 1 hour video about Rock Raiders, one of the most successful Lego themes that spanned for a decade, saved the company from bankruptcy, and had a short lived and rather disappointing reboot. He collabs with RRNicker, another famous youtuber who makes stop motion reviews of obscure Lego lines like Bionicle or Ninjago that only had one year to them until Lego moved on to other successful lines, like Galidor and Znap.
See this is exactly why i like lego rewind so much. He ALWAYS has something original to say. Not following the generalised opinions, expressing his own, showing things at a different angle.
Imagine if Lego Gave us CCBS pieces with these types of textures instead of 95% of them being smooth like standard Lego bricks... (mainly talking about the shell pieces)
Imagine if CCBS expanded it's parts lot beyond the standard she'll pieces. Like giving us back cover so that we have no exposed skeletons, or new torso pieces that allow waist articulation. Looking at some knockoff brands, they are more innovative than Lego ever did. Those CCBS Ultraman builds are quite impressive, and those sets that come with the amazing articulated hands.
But both Ninjago and Chima got TV shows. Now that I think about it, imagine if Bionicle of all things had gotten an anime series. I can see the Linkin Park AMVs in my mind clear as day...
I am genuinely so mad that I didn't even have the chance to be into Galidor as a kid. Was just born too late. Which sucks, because I can say with 110% certainty that Galidor would've been my favorite thing ever; I would have bought every single figure and accessory, probably multiple times over. I would have singlehandedly saved the Galidor brand.
I recently found a sealed Galidor figure at my local thrift store for like five bucks. I immediately bought it. My buddy had almost the whole set when we were kids. This line may be kinda wack, but it means a lot to me. I want to get more in the future.
an actual galidor episode?? and i thought it would never happen, i loved the slugger cameo, you and him are probably some of my favorite and best lego youtubers around
This video was great and i feel stoked to have nexo knight be the next rewind, i really liked it when it was around. My favorite wave was the final one with the cyber like villians the colours were great and this will make me feel real nostalgia. Also you introduced me to the beautiful world of bionicle g1. Yeah i was around when g2 was around but i didnt really notice it but you have made me a new member of the bionicle fandom. Thank you nick thank you for everything.
I got a bin of Galidor figures from a yard sale when I was a kid. I didn’t know they were lego until years later but I always had fun playing with them. I had a bunch of the little McDonald guys that were perfect as goons for their regularly sized counterparts
I imagine Galidor would've still very much been as classified as being "that weird non-LEGO line that's somehow made by LEGO" not unlike how Bionicle is treated in some circles of the LEGO fandom to this day had the line proved popular enough to last the typical three year structure LEGO tends to go for barring Bionicle G1, Friends, and Ninjago.
If there's one thing I respect the most about Lego is that they really do push quality in their toys and relative products. Yeah, Galidor was a commercial failure but they have the same attention to detail and QC as any other theme. Same for Lego movies, clothes, video games, etc. If it doesn't sell well, it's more of a failure in marketing research or in establishing a presence in that market. Lego as an action figure is about as strange to customers as Lamborghini making pick up trucks. And Hasbro/Matel has the largest share for action figures. But they continue to try to experiment with new ideas, like with AR in the Hidden Side series. Amazing sets. Not much success with the AR game and the graphics on the box were confusing. So as much as we like to tease about Galidor, it's apparent that Lego can in fact produce action figures as good as Hasbro/Matel, which should make competitors shiver if Lego tries again someday.
Imagine if LEGO took another try at a Galador like Action Figure line with a major licensed IP like Fortnite or something that has TONS of highly recognizable and likeable character! The only thing that caused Galador to fail is that not many people recognized the IP it was based on compared to others that existed at the same time.
@@highsoldier420nah hero factory atleast found some succes. I mean it lasted for 4 and a halv years. I get where ur coming from but galidor certainly gets more hate and negative jokes then hero factory ever did.
Know what? I agree. Maybe we did judge Galidor too harshly. It's not entirely my kind of thing, but it's earned my respect thanks to Nick. Kinda reminds me of the flack Hero Factory got, except I really enjoyed that line even if it ended on a sour note I call "Great Value Pacific Rim."
Seeing this I want Hero Factory back, could totally be like ninjago done right new heroes and olders return as legacy figures Or a Exo Force remake with today standarts mechs
For as easy a target of ridicule themes like Galidor can be, there's geniunely stuff to enjoy about it, its character design is strong, the toys of surprisingly great quality, the introduction if ratchet joins and the Kek Powerizer is probably the single most ambitious toy Lego's put out. It might make for a good april fools prank or your typical "imagine if *this* became the standard" comment, but Galidor *had* good in it

Galidor was probably the single most ambitious project Lego had ever done, which I feel is why it ended up failing, because they ended up spreading themselves too thin. Even Bionicle took itself more slowly to grow into what we know today.
Honestly, as someone who recently found some old Galidor toys of his a couple years ago.... We share exactly the same thoughts. Surprisingly really solid action figures that really should have been given more of a chance back in the day.
I love Gallidor! I remember having a Nepal and Gorm as a gift, they're some fave toys as a kid! Imagine what more potential they can be if they weren't cancel that early... what a shame..
I snagged a nearly full line-up of Galidor at toy show recently. It was such an iconic moment to have them in hand after all these years of wanting them! They truly got more hate than they deserved!

"It's not real LEGO" should be a codeword for "it's creative, experimental stuff that we're not used to". Yeah, it's not the bricks most fans expect from lego, but now that the company has done off with this type of experimentation and creativity some of the magic is lost. They are a lot more commercially succesful, but creatively staler... It really wasn't a huge surprise to me that they used AI and then made a super half-assed apology. They are sitting on so much cash but are unwilling to take a chance on more unorthodox themes. I get it, if it ain't broke don't fix it... but some variety would really not hurt.
Hey Nick, just wanted to thank you for your work on Lego rewind and Planet Ripple. Just finished my 3rd rewatch of the series, it’s so cozy to come back to. Thank you for all you do, Support from Aus 🇦🇺
The galidor game on the lego site introduced me to bionicle before they took it down. Which I only found out from the tv series I accidently found looking for another similar show on the BBC. (It was a weird 3d only series about a kid turning into a hero alter ego). Anyway Galidor wasn't great imo but the potential was there and it showed me to try new things I might not like. It spurred the moment I went on a closed/open beta mmorpg search during the early 2000's. Tbh I miss the days lego took risks on original franchises. Granted we had hiddenside and monkeykid which did try, but how ofyen do they try a non-system set?
Another awesome rewind Nick! It’s nice to see Galidor get a little bit of love. On a different note, have you ever considered doing a rewind episode on Lego Dimensions?
Lego does still sell 'other' stuff than "bricks, bricks, bricks, .... and Technic"!! They've also got all those plushies and foam cosplay playthings. 🙂
All jokes aside, I'm so glad there's a retrospective on galidor that actually acknowledges the strengths and interesting points of galidor. I never owned a glinching set, but as a bionicle fan I loved the sister theme nonetheless. While it deserves much of the criticism it gets, it's simply unfair to say it's just bad. Thank you for allowing child me to heal and feel accepted.
I was into Galidor back in the day, kid me was really into the show, and REALLY into all the ARG and game stuff Lego was doing on their website, which I believe you can still find fully working on the Internet Archive and other places. But I never got any of the toys, from what I remember stores in my area did not carry them. Though having never gotten my hands on any Galidor toys, other than one or two of the McDonalds Happy Meals setts, they remind me of the classic Masters of the Universe toyline. In they took the thing fans did, taking limbs, heads, accessories, etc, apart and then making new figures and characters from it. But as the toy line's main official gimmick. It's neat.

For what it's worth: thank you, each and every one of you -- hand to heart -- for the kindness, words, and childhood memories of "Galidor." Hearing that to some of you, it was "a favorite show" or a little escapism, means more to me than I could ever truly convey. 20+ years later or not, it honestly means worlds to me. Makes my heart happy. So again, thank you all for keeping that Quest alive even after all of this time.
Thanks for the comment, man! I hope you enjoyed the episode. It was nice to just talk about Galidor as a legitimate theme and not make fun of it or whatever
I love seeing a new take on this theme! And seeing these things on camera I can see what made them unique (That one figure with the open and closing eyes was cool!) I’m sure the galador fans are happy to see some appreciation 😁😄
I never had Galidor as a kid, I don't even remember it being sold in my country so when I stumbled upon it on the internet I thought it was kinda lame. This episode genuinely changed my opinion, I had no idea these were such high quality (movable eyelids?? That's cool af!) and now I wish I had them back in the day
Galidor truely was ahead if its time Get a number of the bigger sets together with a couple guys waiting for food in a resturant, and you've got youself a really entertaining evening of cursed creations
I actually do have the 2 versions of Nick, the deluxe Gorm, Nepol with the rider creature and Ooni and Euripides figures. My grandfather got them for me years ago but I was just a year old so my mom kept them up until I was a little older to have them. Now they're all out and their parts are everywhere in the house.
I remember getting some of the toys from McDonald’s back in the day. As well as watching a little bit of the tv show on the old ABC Family. This was Doctor Who to me, before it was revived 3 years later. It would be impossible if Lego had a second chance with this series. Like maybe Reboot it, but with real Lego sets, & buildable figures that are just like the ones we have now. And a animated show that Netflix would owned.
My experience with Galidor before watching your initial Galidor april fools episode (The paralel universe one) was limited to the Nick and Nepol Mc Donald toys (Being born in 2002, I never saw the initial Galidor boom like my brothers probably did). When I was arond 10 or so (I don't remember) I saw like 1 or 2 episodes of the TV series via reruns in my native french: I mostly remember that Euripides ate the winter clothes he was given thinking it was how they kept you warm or something like that. I didn't even know those McDonald toys in the Lego containers had their own show before that. I appreciate you did made this more serious video about Galidor to close the book on the subject. -A fellow autistic artist, not to the point to make an ongoing comic like you do, but I do a lot of art.
Sometime back in 2023 found some Galidor characters that was for sale at a fle market, person had only 3 an it was Nick, main villain an I think the green alien dude an all 3 still in their packages.
I'm glad you finally had not just a taste, but a full-course meal of Galidor parts and figures. As a kid, I was excited for Galidor as I was for any other LEGO toy, including Jack Stone. I still remember holding the box for Ooni at Christmas with my cousins or going to ToysRUs for a Galidor event and walking away with a neatly colored page of Nick and Gorm fighting. And somehow when signing away for 2 Galidor Defender Kits (for my brother and I), I received 3 Defender Disks instead of 2! While I remember little of the TV show nowadays, the creature designs seemed intriguing like they really felt like parts of a bigger universe, err, dimension. As for as the toys, I can attest that they are highly durable. My childhood parts still hold up to this day after swapping and posing for a long time. The flexible pin-axles of some parts like on the TDN feet, Allegra's hair, and the McDonald's toys is bothersome for what would have been a better system, but not a defect to the base system that was influential in the long run. I only found the arms easy to pop off if they connected to the shoulders directly lined up, elbow touching the arm sleeve. And the variety of texture makes sense to praise for the same year; BIONICLE also had changing textures based on their wave, but you can tell some didn't work together, like the dotted Inika pattern mixed with grid-like Metru joints.I understand how and why they made that work in CCBS all being the same, but it lacks originality between characters and clashes with designs typical of superheroes or Star Wars (especially more organic ones like Chewbacca). I like the nickname of "Ick". Heh, "nick"name. Pun not intended.
I had a Kek Poweriser back in the day and I thought ut was a pretty cool toy at the time. Also funnily enough I remember The Ninjago City Modula from 2017 had a Minifig that wore a Galidor shirt.
I always wondered about the clutch power of Galidor feet on studs and so glad someone tested it. And who else but Nick Himself to do the job? Galidor's marketing was haphazard but the figures themselves always looked cool and interesting to me. Enough for my parents to mail in for an Official Defenders Kit. None of the sets made it to my household, though. Jack Stone was more my thing then. That said I would've loved these chunky guys as a toddler! Even more so now, with your and RR Slugger's reappraisal of theze crazies.
I commented this already on your other Galidor video, but these are basically a really late recreation of the Henshin Cyborg figures Takara invented during the evolution from GI-Joe to Transformers ( GI-Joe was imported to Japan in 1971 as Action Joe, modified into Henshin Cyborg in 1972, downsized into Microchance in 1974, then spun-off into Diaclone in 1980, followed shortly thereafter by Microchance, both of which were the original Transformers toys brought to the US as the 1984 Transformers cast.)

Iron Man where Tony Stark is a standard Galidor type action figure, but the Iron Man armor is a separate build that goes on and off the action figure.
Also noteworthy is that the guy who played Nick is still active on twitter and friendly with what little Galidor fandom is out there.

(That one figure with the open and closing eyes was cool!) I’m sure the galador fans are happy to see some appreciation 😁😄
Galidor is when lego wants to make action figures without accounting for how they look
I never had Galidor as a kid, I don't even remember it being sold in my country so when I stumbled upon it on the internet I thought it was kinda lame. This episode genuinely changed my opinion, I had no idea these were such high quality (movable eyelids?? That's cool af!) and now I wish I had them back in the day
SLUGGER!!!
Galidor truely was ahead if its time
Get a number of the bigger sets together with a couple guys waiting for food in a resturant, and you've got youself a really entertaining evening of cursed creations
Another excellent viddo from P.R snailer, almost on par with his power miners retrospective
-A fellow autistic artist, not to the point to make an ongoing comic like you do, but I do a lot of art.
vidyo was so weird its been completely memory holed by everyone
Omg i had that funny green duplo creature as a little kid! It had claws and a tail and it was very cool.
I remember watching
the TV Show a little bit.
I had no idea that I had anything to do with Lego.
The TV show theme sounds like an F Zero GX soundtrack
This is the ultimate crossover!
Galador is like a legend on the lego community! haha.
Wonderful video!
Sometime back in 2023 found some Galidor characters that was for sale at a fle market, person had only 3 an it was Nick, main villain an I think the green alien dude an all 3 still in their packages.
Ok, but... I DO actually wanna know about Znap! 😂
Perhaps it's possible to 3D print a Minnow figure and glue in some technic parts for replaceable limbs
Great episode
4:52 This guy was already, imo, the best looking of the lineup. But I've never seen that play feature before! That's sweet!
I gotta find some of whatever Lego was smoking when they came up with this idea. 😆
I have always unironically loved Galidor, and I really want a series [and toyline] revival
When legends collide!
What goes around...
i saw the show as kids never knew it was connected to lego
Ahh yes, my favourite show
Man you talk about Bionicle so much on your channel, a Lego Rewind about it would be fire!! /j
