Very true on the reprint of anything. This isn’t suppose to be a money maker for anyone other than Pokémon and they can flip the switch however & whenever they want too.

Why worry about an Evolving Skies reprint. There are literally billions of them out already. When the economy tanks, and all these singles hit new lows as interest falls apart, no one is going to be paying $600 for a box of cardboard. It's not rare, nothing modern is. Only thing scarce since WOTC is people's common sense and respect for their money.

Depends on your definition of reprint.
They legally couldnt print the word "Wizards" on them. Therefore unable to reprint exact replicas of Base - Gym Series. Thats why vintage is reprint proof.
It truly is fascinating how the modern art of pokemon is perceived in relation to old art. I'd love to have a Pikachu Van gogh but not dealing with all that noise for it 🥴
They can, but they would be wise not to. The major appeal is scarcity. Eventually, if they reprint and over print too often, then sooner or later people are going to opt out of pokemon tcg. Everyone keeps telling me that Lorcana is way more fun to play than pokemon. We all know that lorcana will be printed so much that investing is a non-issue. If Pokemon continues on this path, then they will lose out to the games people find more fun.
Hmm perhaps when the next gen of children are not interested in pokemon cards anymore & Pokemon's on a decline (maybe in the next 20 years or so), they could possibly reprint the vintage set era targeting the parents to return to collecting again & eventually their children will gain some sort of interest towards it. Or who knows maybe the majority of the cards by then will become digital (nfts) along with a virtual binder haha
If I were the owner or CEO, I'd reprint the shit out of all the rarest cards that are being scalped just to piss people off. Pokemon would still make a ton of money, as usual, everybody would finally be able to get their hands on the cards they've always dreamed of owning and displaying on their shelves, and the scalpers would be left with a ton of stock they can't get rid of.
That's what sort of happened already with celebration / anniversary reprints if you think about it. People got so sick of the outrageous prices that, despite not being exactly the same as the originals, they preferred buying the reprints, which still manage to scratch the hitch and don't cost you a kidney. I'd rather buy those rather than possibly fake cards / slabs passed as authentic by scalpers.

They can reprint base set but they can’t reprint base set with 1st Ed stamps 😎

@@ant_989pokemon bought the rights back from wotc in 99 bc wotc was putting the wrong cards in packs. Pokemon "owns their rights" but you are right about the part where they would have to make small changes.

Don’t know why plp have there panties in a twist about Van Gogh pika🥴 This isn’t a reprint 😂 funny how plp have short term memory 🥴 Remember Van Gogh museum and how you can a promo by completing certain tasks🤔 Remember how the museum ended the promo give away due to scalpers acting a fool🤔 Remember how the event was supposed to run thru November- January🤔 Remember in December pokemon company releasing a statement saying those left over promo cards will be shipped to the Netherlands in 2024😂 So this ISN’T A REPRINT 😂 All the promo being sent to Netherlands are left over inventory from Van Gogh event not a reprint I repeat NOT A REPRINT 🥴
They absolutely are a reprint. Pokémon didn’t make 100,000 cards and then pretend to sell out. It’s really not a complex process to make more. They just put in a 2nd order from then printing facility and tell them to click print again

Van Gogh pikachu is not investable!!!! I don’t own one and I can tell Pokémon international will reprint that card to the ground. Every store gets multiple copies in order to sell booster packs and other collectible products

I scalped them today. Sold a lot to French already. It’s not true what he says. They didn’t pre sold a shit load. It was still very rare on Dutch marketplaces. There are only a few groupapps were they got pre sold..
