@@brainpause i think the shaft snapped and ran freely in the wheel ? or it might have been the diff that got shredded ? because you see the wheel stop instantly almost but the gear still runs wild and it looked like the guy waving to him knew that this was something to look for ? or they might have suspected it ?
@@Demidar Yeah, he jumped immediately, but having watched thousands of pulls, it was easy to tell that it wasn't an appropriate place for any smoke. But like you said, maybe they suspected something and hoped they could get ONE more pull out of it, then work on it all night for the next day's pull. It's kind of like watching the show Cops: Sometimes I want to know what happened and what the rest of the story was!
@UCaX7g7RckkzqU6AI0T4j9Pg The Allison's are my favorite to watch, even more than turbines. The Allys just have a nice rumble. Don't really even need hearing protection in person. I saw one on video knock a hole in the block and I wondered if they could fix it somehow, or were they going to be looking in barns for them again. That was the only Allison I've seen have major issues. And why would anybody even try to compete with a radial engine? Talk about turning money into smoke and noise!
