As a child of the 1960's my Grandma always had a silver Christmas tree! This tree reminds me of hers so much, except she did a star on top and had these vintage lava or bubbling lights she hung on the tree as well. I bought 8 sets of them a few years back to decorate my own tree with. Unfortunately they only lasted about three years and I haven't been able to find them since. However, if you can find them and love a vintage look there is nothing better than those lights to add the extra pop of vintage!
Bubble lights - yes! My mother-in-law decorates with them and they are gorgeous. My only hesitation is I’ve only seen them in a green cord and with the tree being silver, I’d prefer to stick with that. Maybe one of these years someone will make some at least on a white cord. Maybe I should see about getting them made and have a Christmas retail store on the side that caters to specialty decorations…🤔
Never seen a silver tree done so beautifully!!! Love the theme!!
Thank you! It’s definitely my most colorful tree!
Thank you so much for sharing this video. I just found a silver tree at the thrift store and needed help how to add lights and decorate. Lots of helpful tips.
What an awesome find! Glad this video helped. Silver trees are such a fun way to add some holiday spirit. Thanks for watching and commenting!!
Well, THANK YOU for showing me how to put lights on my Retro Silver Tinsel Tree. I honestly didn't think it possible!
You are very welcome! Thank you for watching. Happy decorating!!
I love the color block look. This is the prettiest silver tree ever!
Thank you so much! It’s fun to have such a colorful tree in our home. Happy holidays!!
Thanks for the tips
You are very welcome! Cheers!!
Wish your camera was closer to see how you did everything, especially the lights and mesh garland. Beautiful tree and it looks so elegant with all the twinkling lights!
Thanks for the feedback! Hopefully I can shoot from some different angles with more close ups in the future. Thanks for watching and happy new year!!
Yes I'm off to get some white silver mesh too. Also agree on more close ups. Did you say you're going to move the tree? After you've decorated it? That can't be easy 🙂🥰🥰
Lol, it’s not! I typically have my husband help me in case it starts to tip over. But the real trick is to put the tree stand on a towel before you start decorating and then pull the towel to move it. Thanks for the feedback!
I LOVE IT!!! It couldn't be more fun!!
Thank you for your sweet comment! Happy holidays!!
This tree is gorgeous. Love the decorations. I especially love the tree picks 🎄❤💚❄🎄❤💚❄🎄❤💚❄🎄❤💚❄🎄
Yay! So glad you enjoyed. Thank you so much for the amazing feedback and for watching!!
@@themadeupokie You're very welcome! Keep up the beautiful work! 😊☺
😊❤️
This is so bright and beautiful! I have traditionally done 2 trees in my home.
Thank you for the sweet comment! Two trees is great! What rooms are your two trees in?
themadeupokie my family room and dining room!
I bet they are beautiful! Happy holidays!!
Hi Katherine,
I don't know how I skipped this video.🤔🎄
It's so cute.😍
You’re just the sweetest! This is definitely a different tree for me. Since my husband picked out most of the items for it (and he’s more..errr...frugal than me) it’s also an opportunity to decorate in a different way than I normally would which is fun. Thanks for your comment! ❤️💚❤️💚
What a fun tree, very pretty🎄💕
Thank you for the comment and for watching!! Happy holidays!
Great ideas, but wish your camera video was more close up as I couldn’t really see the details.
Thank you for the feedback! I’m always interested in how I can improve my videos. Cheers!
where did you find the mesh fabric to fill in your tree? Great job! We love our vintage silver tree but this shows me how to bring it into today's trends!
Hi! I bought mine from a store called Craftex (bit.ly/2Z6SZBM) but I’ve never found it on their website. I’ve also found it in store at Hobby Lobby. It’s such great tree filler, especially in silver tinsel trees. Thanks for watching and happy decorating!!
This is a very helpful video for good ideas - and your tree is lovely. If I may ask, how long is your ribbon compared to the height of your tree?
Thank you Anne! The ribbon going down the tree is 10’ for a 7’ tree. That allows me to take the 30’ ribbon roll and divide into 3 ribbons, which is the perfect spacing apart for a slim, 7’ tree. Cheers!!
Where did you buy the tree ? It's beautiful!!!
Hi! It came from At Home maybe 4 years ago. It’s a lot of fun, but definitely different to decorate because most stuff is geared towards decorating green trees. Hope you can find something similar. Cheers!
Why do they say you can’t put lights on a tinsel tree?
