In this episode I finish the access holes in frame C1 with a rounded edge and then install the frame.
THE BOAT: Scow Bow Mini-Cruiser. 14’ long (4.25M,) with a 6’ beam (1.8M.) She features twin keels and a Ljungström rig. Every design decision is made to keep her simple, strong, and watertight.

Very kind, Dave! Thanks.
Awesome work! Would love to see a walkthrough of your workspace and tools at one point as a video idea!
What a cute assistant you have! Waving goodby will be a challenge for you :-)
Very true! Thank you.
Thank you very much. Greeting from Russia, deep Siberia 😊
Greetings! Stay warm up there.
Bumping up the algorithm. Good episode Captain Perry. Thank you for sharing.
Glad you liked it 👍
Quality father-daughter time.
Haha yes, she's always hoping for a chance to be in a video.
Now it’s my grandchildren who assist me like their parents did.
С помощником дело идет гораздо быстрее))) Удачи!!!
Great help!
You make boat building look like child's play.
Lots of thought going into this project.
Very kind! Thanks.
Did you thought about a Djunkrick? I like to gratulate you. Look sailing Wave Rover you are both vary ner to find the pur optimum
I love the rope trick. I’m going to use it on two deck penetrations for ventilation hatches I’m adding to my C26.
I don't remember if you ever addressed it, but what is the plan for interior finishing? Are you painting it or leaving it as is? I could see a fresh white making it seem better, improving lighting, and being a little less depressing than the brown/unfinished look, but can't remember if you said one way or another.
Yes I'll definitely paint the entire interior. Mostly white with a color on the main bulkhead and maybe on frame C2 as well, the forward end of the cabin.
Perry very inspiring! Moving steadily forward on my Paradox build. I keep reminding myself how you eat a elephant! One bite…..
Very good! Wish I could see it. How far along are you now?
Are these plans capable of being expanded to make a larger boat ? I was thinking 24' x 10' = 2 cabin electric back-up motor single mast driven from the inside with an Isopod drive as rudder and motor and 3 keels trailer able . I like the fact yours is completely water tight , i also am afraid of capsizing !
Expanding to 24'... I think things would get pretty funky. You'd need an experienced marine architect to totally redesign. I would just look into trusted designs that already exist for a 20 - 25' boat.
Keep it up. This boat is almost done.
Do you want to add hydrofoils and electric motors
Nothing fancy, she's just wind-powered.
Is it weird to watch your channel building a pocket cruiser at the same time watching the Duracell Project build a large racing cruiser?! Haha can’t wait to see this boat on the water!
Coat the bare wire with dielectric grease prior to crimping terminals. This will go a long way in regards to preventing issues in a salt air environment.
Will do, I made a note of it, thanks.
Maybe there is a router tool u could use to gouge out the channels for the rope edges? It would make the job faster, more accurate fit for the rope?
I could, but it's only around 3~4 linear feet of work and it's easy to do by hand.
cool
just curious - could you have used a Dremel or some other router for this?
Yes. It wasn't much area to chip out so I didn't mind doing it by hand.
I’m following your channel and also Yrvind’s, as well as some of famous wooden boat projects on UA-cam. I’m wondering, have any books been written on foam core construction, and are there any books that focus on the use of Divinycell in particular? Are there one or two books that you or anyone following could recommend? I just have so many questions, a lot of which I could answer myself by doing some research and learning the basics.
I'd start by googling "How to build a foam sandwich composite boat" and reading that tutorial on amateurboatbuilding(dot)com.
Thank you!
Unrelated question, but have you ever considered also having a small mast towards the stern of the boat? Or would that complicate the design and ease of sailing the boat beyond what it’s worth?
I have considered it, but ultimately "keep it simple" won out. I think if I sail her and I feel she needs it, I could add a small sail aft later.
@@ocean_capable_small_sailboat ah yes it would make sense to see how she sails first. Anyway, I really enjoy following your project!
Nice work. Can't wait to see side frames installed.
Thanks, I also can't wait to get all the hull/deck panels on.
Nice job, nice to see the pieces coming together.
Yes it is! Thanks.
You do good work
Kind to say so, thanks!
Enjoy your videos... keep them coming!
Will do, thanks!
Excellent work!
