Is it just me, or does anything else think that Kyuukioh's design falls flat when compared to Toutetsuoh? The latter is exquisitely detailed and gloriously creepy, whereas this guy's just sort of... bland. I'm not faulting the attack animations, they're great, but put the two designs side by side and they don't even seem like they're from the same game.
To be fair, not all mythological creatures are as awesomely gruesome as others. Kyuuki-Oh might simply be a more 'normal' ass-kicking giant monster. :p
A fair point. But if you're going by the source material, the taotie is just a funny looking bronze mask, and look what they were able to wring out of that! Kyuukioh should've been at least as weird and monstrous as his fellow "Four Calamities" partner, if you ask me.
A neat analogy...though, given the general quality and brutality on display, I'd argue that THIS KyuukiOh's from the animated remake of the manga, or an OVA, that actually does his skillset justice. :3
