I am still on this theory: I think Surge is actually liable to become a better person, but Kit's liable to double down on this toxic mindset and become Surge's personal villain when/if she finds out.
This annual has a lot to digest. I do like seeing Surge's and Kit's dynamic. About them trying to be their own heroes and I do like Kit's dialogue hinting that he could be the big bad feeling. I like Knuckles' chapter when he is expressing gratitude with his life and with his friends how the Master Emerald is a part of him and his friends are a part of him also that makes him who he is. And finally my most favorite part is the one with Mimic. We see him expect story about how he became an actor and seeing other people who were so if he is hiding behind a mask and embracing who he is deep down or choosing who he is. And this breaks me to see that he betrayed people who let him in. And Whisper who is so happy upbeat is really adorable and sing the change from what we've seen so far is devastating. And not gonna lie though that chapter is a little bit chilling since he almost caught Whisper lacking. And it's really interesting to see inside of his psychology of what is going on around him and how he feels about things. He's choosing to embrace the mask and choosing to become selfish and arrogant. And I feel like this is really deep with a character who is a villain. I still hate him for how he literally led his friends to their own demise and how he literally traumatized Whisper. It's less about him trying to embrace who he is and choosing to be selfish and arrogant When he could have chose not to be. He had a choice but he is covering up his excuses by being cold and blaming everyone else and even trying to shift blame to the reader itself asking us "who are we?" I think he could probably be some type of sociopath in my opinion. The annual is very cool and Mimic still sucks as a person. Whisper deserves all the love and respect.
@@cooltiger2439 That's kind of funny that 2 of the characters have impostor syndrome. But meanwhile Knuckles knows who he is and loves his friends. And side note by the way Whisper deserves all the happiness since she's so precious when happy.
I’m worried Kit might get the Zeti involved. Showing Surge he’s more like Starline than he is Tails. They might get controlled by the Zeti through their cybernetic and force our heroes to use the Zeti Zapper. It may temporarily take away their powers, and I really hope Belle gets involved somehow. I really want the three to form a friendship.
I got the same feeling about Kit bring in the Zeti. Thing is, with her electricity powers Surge could likely counter or even copy the Zeti's emp abiltys.
If Sonic is chaotic good, and Surge is going to be chaotic neutral, then I want me a chaotic evil villain. Not someone who does what they do for the sake of taking things over like Starline or Eggman, but for laughs, because it's both fun and funny to reduce the world to ruble and just leave the survivors to deal with the aftermath. Because destruction and chaos ultimately seems to be what the world around themselves consistently wants to head itself towards. The mindset of "I'm a horrible person, and I don't care! And I want to encourage EVERYBODY to be just as horrible and be as unashamed of it as I am!" as a more direct challenge to Sonic's philosophy by adding more too it with total unrestrained freedom with total disregard of responsibility or care. Something like that has ALOT of potential for fun scenarios to write and read about. The Zeti would fit this, but nobody seems to want to use them :(
I still stand by the fact this could easily solidify Kit as the bad guy, I don't think he's free thinking here either, it's just that the one thing he's more scared of than losing Surge is feeling useless so he'll do whatever it takes to not be useless (after all when he thought she died, he clung to Sonic) , I hope they go the route of Surge discovering Kits betrayal and causing her to rage at him, a fight between them would be epic to see, she already hates sonic for perpetuating the cycle even if it's for a moral reason, whereas Kits reason is selfish, This is gonna hurt her bad. Heck one thing I'll note is this she obviously will not wanna kill Kit, they are too close, but if he did something worse than Sonic in her eyes it may make her rethink wanting to off him, she'll finally understand forgiveness. After all the characters they are based off of (androids 17 and 18) eventually got redemption too.
Honestly, idk what surge and kit wanna do anymore! Do they wanna help the world or do they wanna destroy it?! They like the feeling of helping people but they still wanna get rid of sonic and everyone else! I like the amount of depth they’re giving to these two but soon enough they’ll have to chose their fate… (btw did you like my oc’s story?)
What I feel like is that, Starline conditionned them to become heroes and replace Sonic and Tails. Which is basically what is happening. Both Surhe and Kit see Sonic and Tails as big ass hypocrites as, for as long as they refuse to take down Eggman, they will have to serve as heroes of the people which is people is loving them to be. So, Surge and Kit wants to prove themselves as the "better justice" by defeating all of them and becoming the new heroes of the people.

@SoraKingdom3 Based on her imposter syndrome (haha irony), I think Surge might actually want to be a hero, not just play one as per Starline's programming. That could be the reason she ended up with Starline to begin with, searching for the power to make a difference, unaware or unconcerned with the cost of said power. As for Kit , his only goals are to make Surge happy and get back at Tails for "lying" about Surge's death. He genuinely dose not seem to care about anyone who is not Surge. Which is likely due not only due to Starline, but also Surge herself reinforcing that "they only have each other.". Which brings the question, what happens if Surge rejects Kit after learning he put people in danger for her sake?
@@Viddplexx Well the true reason is that they can't get rid of Eggman or the serie is missing it's main vilain ^^'. But in the story, it's because Sonic consider that everybody deserves a chance to rebound. I'm guessing he is still obsessing on that chance brought by Mr Tinker of a good Eggman.

I can relate. She needs to forgive herself for any oversights or she'll only destroy herself and Mimic will have had a victory over her. Would be an interesting arc to see her go thru this struggle. We've already seen some bounce-back after the metal virus.

She did reinforce Starline's programming during imposter syndrome. In a way Kit's obsession is on her hands now too.
