      Yes I completely agree. I found this from google.. They actually can smell and taste. That helps the octopus tell there's no snail inside this shell. Hundreds of suckers tasting and smelling, and flexible arms moving every which way, create a huge amount of information -- a lot for the octopus' central brain to process. So each arm has a mind of its own.

    • @RedBroski
      @RedBroski Рік тому +22

      Agreed! They're smarter than cats, and cats can tell that a stuffed animal is fake, after sniffing and pawing at it a few times. Octopus was probably thinking "hmm.... You're a bit strange... You must be an alien.... Well, thanks anyway." 😆

      Doomed to eat them maybe. The poor guys would be scorched by the sun, harassed by ants and insects. Almost all except herbivores would see them as free protein and omega-3. There is a reason why they live in the sea, on land they have 0% chance, except for the shores where they jump out and run small distances to ambush crabs. But thats about it.

    I feel like there's too much anthropomorphization with this narration and the octopus "thanking" the camera. There's no way that it thinks the spy camera is real. It makes a nice storyline but they are far too smart to fall for that.

      I agree. Octo knew full well the robot was not of his kind... Maybe that's why he stole the half shell...? Anyway, it was a very educational post and I've often wondered what octos would say IF they could say... 🤔 Fascinating creatures. Still not too sure about how I would feel having one suckering all over me though. 😂

      Welcome to television, things have to be made in specific ways for audiences. Who’d have guessed.

    This octopus thinks he found the Jesus of Octopuses 😅😅 sharks dont eat him and he doesn't have a pulse... and he selflessly saves other octopuses and stares down sharks

    No. They do not in fact have 9 brains, they only have one. What is true however is that they have a distributed nervous system with most of their nerve cells being in their arms rather than their heads like us. This doesn’t mean each arm has a mind of its own though, that’s been debunked too. I can’t believe this made it into a documentary
