The French Possessive Adjectives - Mon Ma Mes // French Grammar Course // Lesson 10 🇫🇷

- The French possessive adjectives are the equivalent of my, your, his, her, its, your, our, their, in English. They are a big part of French grammar as they help to give information about the noun they refer to. They always agree in gender and number. I also give you a little way to remember them :)

Thanks for these amazing videos❤❤❤! Could you also make a video about these 3 French words for 'friend', 'Correspondant, copain and ami', because I get confused which word to use when talking about a friend?
Actually waiting for this topic 👍
Here it is 😀
😍🤩love your lesson
Merci Jasmin 🤩
thank you Dylane! I am learning this in my class and I didn't really get it until I saw your video!
I am so happy it helped 😉
Same here
Merci!
Pas de quoi :)
Merci beaucoup
Merci à toi :)
They give us the information about whom the noun belongs to. 'Whom' is correct but not many people say it these days as it can sound stilted. Better would be 'They give us the information about to whom the noun belongs' as we shouldn't really end a sentence with a preposition, but again, these days, not many people care! (Only saying this because you asked - otherwise it would be rude.) Really enjoying this french course as the last time I spoke french was in school more than 50 years ago. Thanks Dylane.
Thank you so much for taking the time to explain it to me ❤️ I tend to forget a lot the prepositions at the end, especially on videos. I think (or I hope) that my English is better in real life 😅 Merci encore :)
❤❤ i have my french exam tommorow and i was not able to get this topic but now i understood it properly
Merci ,merci beaucoup ❤❤❤
I hope you did well
seems like everything's become complicated with gender in French 😀
thanks Dylane :)
Maybe a little bit 😅
2024 Student from India
I have a strange request teacher: perhaps you can do a video on traditional French Lullabies. I think that might make an interesting lesson. :)
Honestly my family was not a lullabies family so I barely know any :/
Mam tomorrow is my french exam and when saw this video this helped me alot for understanding the concept. thanks for teaching so well
Good luck! Let me know how it goes :)
Merci beaucoup
Tomorrow is my French exam
And
I was so confused in this topic but after seeing your video it's very easy
Let me know how it went! I am sur you will do amazing!
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane Well i am in 7th and I am an Indian so my paper will be easy according to you but according to me it's kind of hard
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylaneHey I got full marks in French actually my French teacher pranked me first she said that no one got full marks then I was like oh I knew that and then she told me that she was kidding and she pranked me then I literally cried when I got to know that it's only me who got full marks in French in whole 7th section 😅
Can you reply me I want to see how happy you are or how proud you are feeling cuz it only happened BCS of you
Bonne nuit
Very good, thank you so much for clearing this up! Duolingo doesn’t know how to teach singular vs plural, haha.
I have one nitpick, for the English “our”, you pronounced it like “or”, but it should have a full diphthong starting from “ow”. It’s a little confusing otherwise.
Thanks again!
thank u maam i got 99 in my franch exam❤😊
Bravo 🙌
la meilleure enseignante
Merci ☺️
💛
Merci dear Dylane, this Video helped me a lot..👍👍👍🌻 I have only one question: how you say in French „ freaks show ‚ ..thx u
We use the word cirque for. It's nicer than in English I guess ;)
@The perfect French with Dylane aha, good to know. Like German..👍👍🌻🌻😳
❤
The future looks bright for you.
Hopefully 😉
The topic covered in this video seemed to be backbone of this playlist.
I am glad you think so :)
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane 🌹🌹💐💐🙂
Thankyou mam! It was the best video! I was not able to understand it but now I understand it well. :-)❤
But a question:-
Mam i am not able to understand that for example there is a sentence -
C'est mon livre.
So if i am feminine, so i have to write
C'est *ma*livre? As i am feminine
Or i have to write-
C'est mon livre
Because livre is masculine
I have this doubt that we have to look to the subject's gender or the object gender (to whom we are showing possession)? Please help me about this. Tomorrow is my test.
C'est mon livre - In French, only the gender of the following noun matters, not the owner of the book :)
Bonjour professeur.
as we know "là = there" and "ici = here"
for the example mes cousins sont là , the following meaning will be "my cousins are there" instead of "here".
Please correct me of this confusion. I am a very beginner of french language and your lessons encourages me significantly and motivates me towards learning this language. :)
Là is more often used than ici. And it usually translates to here. The translation of both is not as simple as you think.
I don’t know exactly what sentence I used in the video but thinking that là = there and ici = here is not the best way to approach the use of them in French :)
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane merci beaucoup pour votre réponse.
At 4:09 là is used 😊
👏👏👏👍
Tomorrow is my exam of fremch in english😂
New student majoring in French literature here☝️
Bienvenue
"Mon idée" it's tricky, but I did it right intuitively. 😆
it is for sure :)
Thanks sooo muchh! ❤Tomorrow is my exam(80marks).. Love from india❤❤❤😊😊
I hope you did well 🤩
.
I trust your efforts paid off and you scored high on your exam, Ashi. 😀
.
I have to write something for literature in French and have to use "on". What possessive pronoun would you use then?
Notre Notre Nos - On a parlé de nos vacances. Good luck :)
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane Merci beaucoup!!
Thank you for all the wonderful lessons. And you certainly deserve more time off!
But at the 4:35 mark, shouldn't it read "sa veste est salee" with a double e because veste is feminine? Thank you.
no sale is an adjective ending with e so it doesn't take a double e - only é takes an extra e :)
Ah... Thank you for that response!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Ah merci! Je souvent oubli ‘leur’ 😅
ET c'est celui pour lequel je n'ai pas de mémo 😅
Good morning maam i am from india i have just started learning french and can just share tips about how and where to start
Go to my website and grab the free self-study guide. It's in freebies. Then you just need to follow the lessons :)
I heard a term mi amour amour means love but what does mi means
mi amor, it's Italian. It means mon amour in French
I just wanted to say, vous actually means 'you all' rather than formally. But nonetheless i really enjoyed this lesson because without this id probably fail-
Tu = you | Vous = you :)
@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane mhm! But 'vous' is the plural for you. English just doesn't have one.
@@aestheticalice-quitted-5126 Only Texans with “y’all”. 😂
Masculine and feminine; ) French found lots of extra work for themselves.
I agree 😃
I feel like i got it but i need like 1 minute for processing every answer 😂
French will do that to you lol
boorgers
you look too beautiful ❤❤
hi sorry i am commenting to mention that you are pronouncing "our" as "or" whereas it is actually pronounced like "hour" in english
sorry if this sound rude
Noted :) it’s not rude, but I swear my pronunciation is better off camera 😄😄😄
Thank you 😊
Here is la or ici? -Ton frere est la
Both translations are fine but in the case or ton frère est là is most here :)
Actually I am not trying to be rude to u but I wanna correct u in 2words
"Etc" ... is pronounced as etcetera
And
Our is pronounced as hour
Sorry if u feel I am rude to u
