Honestly Hamlin shouldn't even be playing, I glad he's ok, but when you literally die on the field, and still come back to play, you're flirting with death, not sure if the bills organization feels they owe him a spot on the team or what, but Edwards could help this team much more than Hamlin, Hamlin wasn't that good before the injury, now he's understandably, more tentative to tackle people, for example if a player on offense need 1 yard to get a first down for the opposing team and Hamlin has to make that stop he's not able to
@@QYgod Except that the film absolutely disagrees with your assessment. He's a very good tackler. Is he he most athletic safety in the NFL? No. Was he before the cardiac arrest? No. He is playing significantly better though and has 2 INTs on the season. He is playing more than well enough to hold down his job.
@tdtommy196 maybe, I'm speaking from a medical standpoint, he shouldn't even be allowed to play, God forbid another health situation takes place, hell of a lawsuit, you can't literally almost die on the field, then be able to come back and play, hell no, don't care what a doctor says
@@QYgod Just so we are clear, he has no hereditary heart condition. It was a freak hit that caused his cardiac arrest. He has recovered fully from it per multiple doctors and is cleared to play. He's fine. It was a 1 in a million hit that could have happened to anyone and is extremely unlikely to occur again. He's obviously playing at an extremely high level, and has not shown as you stated earlier an unwillingness to tackle. Stop making unfounded claims and then backing them up with "I don't care what a doctor says." The truth is that multiple cardiac specialists say he's fine, and the incident very obviously has not negatively affected his on field performance. These prima donnas kill me. He signed a CONTRACT. He's paid quite handsomely to play for the Bills if/when he's inserted into the lineup. He is NOT guaranteed to play or to start. It's HIS JOB to EARN the starting job -- it's NOT "GIVEN" simply because he "wants" it. I fully understand his frustration; any decent player wants to play ... but any decent player also has an OBLIGATION to be both a "good teammate" and a "good employee." We WANTED him to start, but he got hurt and missed too many reps and wasn't ready when we needed him as a starter. It's NOT the "Bills fault" and it's NOT necessarily Mike Edwards' fault." It's simply a situation where he has a PROFESSIONAL OBLIGATION to be ready to play at the snap of the fingers if called upon/if a player gets hurt. Besides, it's only for 1 season anyway -- he's a free agent after this year! So he should suck it up and stop being "disgruntled." The silver lining is that, by not playing, his career might last longer. And if the Bills need him to play, he will have fresh legs. Regardless, Brandon Beane should do WHATEVER IS IN THE TEAM'S BEST INTEREST. That MIGHT mean a trade, or it MIGHT not. BUT under NO circumstances should Beane trade him to any other team that is likely to make the playoffs -- not unless they are willing to give us a #1 pick because they are that desperate ... and even then I wouldn't want him to take his knowledge of the Bills' defense and personnel weaknesses to another good team that would use it against us in the playoffs. If I were Beane I'd ask him to remain patient -- he's only 1 play away from starting -- and be a good supportive team member and HELP THE BILLS WIN the SUPER BOWL. If he isn't willing to do that and wants to be traded at all costs, if I were Beane I would tell him straight up that WE AREN'T CRAZY or SUICIDAL, and so WE AREN'T GOING TO SEND HIM TO ANOTHER PLAYOFF TEAM -- he needs to understand that, "IF" we trade him to honor his request, it's going to be to a crappy team that will give us the most for him, and we're going to do it only contingent on the other team agreeing to NOT trade him again to another contender. If he still wants Beane to explore a trade to a crappy team under those constraints rather than help the Bills, only then would I consider doing so, and ONLY IF we got a fair return. Otherwise, no deal.
he was hurt all through camp, so it was Damar by default. Cole isn't close to starting. Now he's healthy and still can't earn his way on the field compared to a guy who has been completely average. Kinda puzzling. Love Damar but kinda puzzling how he's a healthy scratch
@@1Mrstephen is he? You want to bench a guy who just had an INT last game and has not been a problem at all on Defense this year? Damar has been solid for us.
@@tdtommy196 I never said anything bad about Damar. Edward’s is better though with more experience. Especially in big games. Edward’s should be starting and again, yes is better.
Who needs a safety? That's the toughest part. That position is devalued. There were a lot out there looking for teams! I would love draft capital if possible! Late picks can be traded as well!
I think they will allow him to go! IDK what Beane will get back, but i understand it, and wouldn't want a guy on the team that doesn't want to be on the team.
Get rid of him then. Apparently being on a championship caliber team isn't good enough. Here's an idea send him to the Jets. Let him get a taste of how shity it can be.
This is our future on Defense ya, and it’s gunna be killer. We also have to factor in draft players over the next 2 draft years, and potentially All-Pro/probowl FA signings because every season, Mr. Bean, signs a nice A player, 1 or 2 B players and 3-5 C players. SO, moving forward, I’ll start with safety. I am very high on Bishop, I think he will end up being our 2nd or possibly best 2024 draft pick. Ya don’t see much of him now, and maybe most of you are getting impatient with his inability to get on the field, and a few snaps that he does get aren’t spectacular, although for a young player that barely gets even 10 snaps on defense right now, some games no snaps like the first few games. But there were three standout plays that shows his potential. One play he was covering a tight end and swatted the ball away.. that is what he is known for, being great at covering TEs. Another play, he aggressively pushed the wide receiver, bounce where he couldn’t get his feet down if he were to catch the ball, but Bishop did it so hard the WR wasn’t catching it anyway…… anyway, I truly believe, he is going to be at least a three time all-pro Safety. He plays with such intensity, aggressiveness relentlessness, never gives up and toughness. he could play FS, But he is a true SS. He’s OK at deep zone if you wanna play a cover to or one high, but where this kid shines, will be man to man against slot players and especially TEs. That is one of his A+ skills. Another A+ skill is playing the middle of the field like a linebacker, and going down into the box to play against the ground, where he zips through blockers with speed and sheds blockers with strength and is a great tackler . His last and hopefully not His last A+ skill, is QB blitzing, he is going to get to the quarterback, hit him hard and cause fumbles, maybe pick a few up and running back for touchdowns. The things he needs to improve on right now is understanding his responsibility and concepts and do your job. Don’t try to do somebody else’s. He needs improvement in deep zone and he might not get the most interceptions but don’t catch yourself is gonna be a key player on our defense. Next is CB Benford, absolutely blew my mind that the sixth round player stole the job from the CB we drafted in the first round. His size and playing style is exactly what a McDermott defense wants in his corners, someone bigger that can shed blocks tackle, running backs and plays his zone very good, he also has an eye for the ball and gets interceptions. Elam, disappointing but at the end of the day does it matter we drafted a quarter in the first round and the sixth round and 95% of the time that six round corner isn’t even gonna make the team so the fact that we still got a starting caliber corner, in that same draft makes up for that. Elam, just can’t get it through his thick, hard head that his man to man in your face bump and press wide receivers is just a little too intense. He’s very good at covering also has an eye for the ball. Not a great tackler, which is probably why he lost that starting job among constantly getting flags for jammin up the receivers way past the 5 yard mark, I just can’t believe that still to this day he hasn’t figured that out… MLB Bernard is already a stud, just needs to add maybe 15 pounds of solid muscle to hold up a little bit better and he is going to be a buffalo bill for a long time. Milano is gone after the season. On the Dline, Ed will Start becoming one of the OGs Believe it or not it just seems like we just drafted him but he’s not gonna be on the team in five years. Neither is his buddy Jones. At this point after being so high on Greg Russo, I know that’s not how you spell his name but that’s what my phone is putting in, Hopefully, he is one of our better mature pro bowl level leader on this defense that has earned himself a nice second contract. So All these players have all pro potential in the future of our defense, and that is a SS, CB1 and MLB a LE and maybe DT.
If he’s not a game changer we don’t use him and on a 2nd note we keep good players on the side just in case our starters get hurt we replace with other starts not some JV players
