He starts dancing. He looks back at me and shouts out "SON, ILL SEE SOON!!!!" "WE ALL WILL SEE YOU SOON!" My grandfathers voice. Those gates open my father runs through like no more tomorrow. The brightness fades to dark. And I fall into despair. I my father and grandparents all say. "We well see you soon, son!" Of course I wake in my bedroom wishing I fell on my grandfathers world war M-1 garand bayonet. They all made it to the happy hunting grounds. But damn do I them. Death seems like only way to see them soon. I hope I dont make it pass 50. Their all waiting for me. I have asthma the worst kind. In the early 70's Force Recon trained WITH the Navy Seals. Same exact school SAME EXACT TIME. Most were there for UDT, but the same exact course as SEALS. At that time Force Recon training was 52 weeks of training all around and with other branches too. I was one of "Col. Gray's boys" (along with Captain Oliver North) at Camp Hansen Okinawa. Gray got his first star and lead the evacuation of South Vietnam in 1975, and later became the Commandant.
    Anyone who puts down the USMC Force Recon doesn't have a clue what we do, and from the comments here; none of you do.
    In the gulf wars when you watching smart bombs hitting their targets with precision, it was USMC Force Recon lighting them up with lasers. You better believe they clanked when they walked -balls of titanium! Just like the SEALs in their own combat environment.

      So in the Gulf wars USAF CCTs and JTACs were sitting on there hands? First Marine ground troops arrived in Afghanistan 25 November 2001 while U.S. Air Force CCT/JTAC Special Tactics teams were calling down death and destruction since 14 Oct 2001. 85% of all air strikes in Operation Enduring Freedom were called in by Air Force Combat Controllers.

    • @Michael-A
      @Michael-A Рік тому

      @@mountaingem6 Totally off topic. I never said anything about air force. But go ahead and hijack the thread for some sympathy attention, since you're so desperate for it. I will say this: I never saw any air force lasing the targets on the ground so their so called "smart bombs" would actually hit their designated targets. As for air force carpet bombing with B52's and the like, I have seen that indiscriminate destruction raining "down death and destruction" on civilians; men women and children done all over earth in every war. THAT is a BARBERIC USE OF FORCE.

      I’m not putting force recon down at all, but can you genuinely answer this question do they even see combat anymore? They have had no combat deployment in over 10 years and even members of force recon have stated that they sit on a ship for six months at a time while the Rangers and the Navy SEALs take on all the missions. Sometimes I feel like it’s a waste of taxpayers dollars to even have them but again I’m not disrespecting I’m just curious maybe you can chime in

      @@offspringfan1288 Force Recon. is still important. They may not be getting the missions but when they are needed they are needed than. It takes quite awhile to train up a guy, so these guys need to be ready "just in case". Same thing like combat rescue and recovery. You may not be going out everyday but when your needed your needed now and must be at the top of your game.

He was taking a hop from Lejeune to California. I’m not sure where. The propeller on the number two (left side) separated from the engine, and entered the fuselage at a supersonic speed , A dynamic vibration sliced the nose off of the C- 130 . @@Mango10449 heartbreak ridge was Battalion Recon; totally different functions from Force: I was in both; Battalion first. One difference between USMC and Navy Operators is that many in Force Recon are smaller builds, but very smart, whereas the steroid boys (showboat SEALs) seemed to always lack PRUDENCE; favoring more "wild man tactics" versus Swift SILENT and Deadly Recon. I liked to blow shit up too, but most often we didn't get to; favoring tactics that didn't leave a signature that we were ever there. But that was a long several decades ago; I really cant speak about either Force or SEALs in this new century except to say I'm glad we have them both.

    Marines are the best simply put, when it comes to slinging lead down range. Basic marine is a 3 day half a hell week, and that’s for their basic training!
    But honestly I don’t recommend anyone going into the military when you get sold out every war, Korea sold out, Vietnam sold out, and now Iraq and Afghanistan! 20+’years at war! It’s all for the bankers!
    I took the asvab got a 96, I’m an LVN, and I had an incident in my personal life and I was seriously going to sign an 18 x ray contract. But then I watched a documentary, and it really changed who I was or who I thought I wanted to be. Let’s just say it helped me find out who God is and his son Jesus Christ is real. If you want to fight and be in a war, pick up your cross and start preaching Jesus. Hardest thing you can ever do. You learn very quickly you do not fight flesh and blood, but spirits and principalities. However some people choose to reject Christ continue to be evil and need to be swiftly dealt with. God created all men, Samuel colt made them all equal!

    I pity all the Marine Raiders out there. Awesome dudes, best of the Marine Corps, and they have some good ass skills and training. But, they don't really have a specific role in SOCOM. All other SOCOM units have a specific role they can fulfill for the overall mission, but because Raiders are fairly new, they kind of are missing their own spot in it. They have similar functions to Green Berets, and some come from backgrounds of Recon that relate to SEAL missions, but neither are unique since we have, well, SEALs and GBs already. I wonder if the future of SOF will be a non branch specific job like the Raiders and invite everyone in the military. Honestly thatd be cool, just have every SOCOM unit be non-branch specific.

      They're SF but... From what I've seen they're very similar to a regular airborne soldier. Which is why other branches would be popular for filling their ranks. Ie higher pass rate coming from army or marine schools.

    Gotta hand it to the Marines for the legwork they do to show the world that they too can be special…
    The marine culture (do as I say RAHHHHH SCARY) will always keep those guys basic. Doesn’t matter if they’re retrofitting guys with ‘new’ equipment and Velcro to look like the SF teams in other branches… Not to say that there aren’t some absolute heavy hitters in the Marines… poor guys would probably blossom and operate at their fullest potential and would most likely find more opportunities leaving the marines and transferring to the army or navy for those all star teams.
    This isn’t a dig at the marines by any means…. My point is - since their inception, they’ve been a brute force instrument and not a precision tool…
    Something tells me that SGT’s and below would be too afraid to make a decision on an operation - so…. how effective is that.?. And I guarantee that’s why they aren’t recognized by the pentagon as anything special - other than I’m sure their training is tough. They’ve always been beasts - but outside the box thinkers who can also rock PT is who the American taxpayer wants to call special forces.

    • @gussampson5029
      @gussampson5029 Рік тому +8

      Farmers in sandals are way harder to fight than real armies lol. Real armies can't blend into the local population after taking potshots at you.
      There is no real military on this planet that can compete with the United States military. We have the tech and the tactics and the badasses willing to bring death to the enemy. The rest of the world can't touch us.
      But no one can beat farmers in sandals lol. Even here in the US, when we finally need to overthrow the government in a few decades, farmers in (probably boots) will get the job done.

    • @chasehunt4415
      @chasehunt4415 Рік тому

      You think the Taliban are just farmers in sandals? You need to do some actual research. Most of the guys who have fought the Taliban would rather fight Russian/Chinese soldiers. Those Taliban fighters are tough motherf***ers who had previously been trained by the best to fight against the Soviets. Those fighters have small unit tactics memorized front to back.
