@@shreekumar5079 Very true..But the name Odisha comes from Odra Desa or Udra Desa pronounced differently in different times. It was also called Udraka. The region that was Udra was the region that we have now as Dhekanal, Angul, Talcher, Jajpur, Redhakhol, some parts of Cuttack. This was the region that was the only region that had supported the Pandavas, in the Mahabharata. Kalinga had supported the Kauravas and the king of Kalinga had given 30,000 chariots to the Kauravas and their army. No wonder, we still have names like Durjodhan and Sisupalgarh, Duhsasana in the Kalinga region. Utkala, had also supported the Kauravas and had given 20,000 elephants to the Kauravas. Odisha has been called Kalinga, Utkal, Odra Desa, in different times. Udra, Utkala, Kalinga, Koshala and Kangoda were different regions of Odisha that spread from Ganga, where Modern Kolakata(also called Kalikata) in Odia till Godavari in the south. Koshala denoted Western Odisha and Chhattisgarh, Kangoda was the region around the Chilika lake, covering the districts of Khurda, Puri and Ganjam. This was the region where the Shailodbhava dynasty ruled for 100 years before migrating to Java, Indonesia in the 8th century, from Chilika lake, with their naval fleet and 25000 Odia people. There, the Sgailodbgavas, who were Shaivites, worshippers of Shiva, and who had built many of the Shiva temples of Bhubaneswar, renamed themselves as SHAILENDRA DYNASTY after converting to Buddhism in Java. There the Shailendra king Samaratunga built the largest Buddhist temple complex of the world called as Borobudur near Yogyakarta/Jogjakarta/Ayodhyakarta city of Java. The Kalinga Javan architect who designed Borobudur was "GUNADHARMA".A Clan of tge royal house of the Shailodbhava, who retained their Shaiva Hindu faith, established a rival Hindu Dynasty called SANJAYA DYNASTY in Java and built the largest Hindu temples of PRAMBANAN dedicated to Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva(Maheshwar) near the same Yogyakarta city of Java, Indonesia. which was tge largest Hindu temple in the whole world, till Angkor Wat dedicated to Lord Vishnu, was built in Cambodia by the Hindu Khemr kings Jayavarman and Suryavarman in the 14th century A.D. Both Borobudur, and Prambanan date back to the 8th century.A.D.Most of Utkala, including, Medinipur, Bankura, Purulia, Jhargram, are in Bengal, and Singhbhum, Sadheikala, Kharsuan,Chakradharpur, are in Jharkhand now.Soth Kalinga, comprising Icchhapur, Srikalulam, Vijayanagar, Visakhapatna, Pithapur, Rajamahendri(Rajahmundry),Godavari are in Andhra Pradesh now. The entire western flank of Bastar, Saranggarh, Raigarh, Jashpur, Udaypur, parts Western Odisha are in Chhattisgarh now.So the modern, current Odisha exists with its head, left hand and one leg chopped off. that was the part of a grand conspiracy by the British that dismembered Odisha for 200 yrs of Brutish rule and and Odisha was not existing in the political, Geographic, linguistic map of India during the British rule, Odias fought for a statehood on linguistic basis got a limbless, handless, headless Odisha in 1936. At present , we still exist in a dismembered and vivisected form, with our leg, hand and head missing. Thats why they also call Odisha/Odias as"Haata, Munda kataa "Derdha Gordia". No doubt we were made handicapped, but we will stand with our, head, hand and limbs intact one day.

Hello sir, I m quite impressed with the way u explore and the places. I m from Mayurbhanj dustrict of odisha. Mayurbhanj was a state once upon a time and merged with odisha after India's independence. Mayurbhanj is enriched with tourist places like similipal bio sphere reserve, devkund, bhimkund, sitakund, kala dam, sono dam, deuli dam, kharkhai dam. Mayurbhanj is famous for mudhi with mutton. Baripada its district head quater in which hotel GARMA GARAM serves delicious mutton, a busy mutton junction. People come here to taste mutton only. Waiting u for ur explore to Baripada and whole Mayurbhanj

It depends upon person to person but I enjoy pahala rasogolla more than salepur rasogolla. Pagala rosogolla is very soft,light,less sweeter . Thanks for prompting Odisha's food,places,handmade articles.

Sir, I believe you've missed the northern part of Odisha which is also well known as the gateway of Odisha. Baleswar, Chandipur Sea Beach, Nilagiri Jagannath Temple, Panchalingeshwar & Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary, Rishia Nature's Camp, Baripada & it's very famous Mudhi Manso (Puffed Rice with Mutton Curry), Similipal National Park, Devkund, Khiching Temple and many more are there to explore.
