Like throw the show out the window, throw Life with Luca out the window. This is it. This is all I want for these two characters, all I want out of a Life with Derek sequel. Just Derek and Casey being to together and the family reacting.
The sequel couldn't come soon enough. I want to seem them being domestic together again. 🥰

Shaftesbury kids youtube channel did change their header with life with Derek on it. So there’s definitely a strong possibility of it happening.

You see, I was taking a nap naked on the couch, minding my own business. And that's when Casey walked in and slipped on one of those girl bloody pad thingies and she landed right on my midday snooze boner. That's how we got pregnant. All her fault, Dad.
From where I'm standing we don't need any kind of sequel at all. At the end the show pretty much told us, that what we can see in this beautiful edit is simply gonna happen. Derek was already realizing this fact at the end of the final season and Casey was not that far behind. And I will never get over how much work with acting and writing was put into making this show. It's really just next lvl when you think about it. It also ended perfectly. LWD is never gonna be the same without the rest of the family and it would be hard to include them with Dasey being away in collage, that's for one. Then there is an aspect of LWD being family friendly and their inability to actually show us them being a couple on screen. I can't think of any other story that has been written so well, that we all know that a relationship is canon, without actually giving us a tangible proof like confession or a kiss. But somehow the writers and actors of LWD managed to do that and I fear about them ruining a job so well done.
1:05 It always struck me as odd that the writers left that in there. I mean presumably they meant she was wearing it to impress guys at the party, but that makes little sense, as she spent most of the episode trying to "impress" Derek.
Well she was planning to go out, what’s really weird is that Lizzie who noticed never got a real answer and Lizzie is really smart. Realistically Lizzie would think… ya know

I watched this show as a kid, and everything flew over my head. A few years ago, I found this fandom and I've loved being in it. This is by far the best tribute I've ever seen for them! I have a whole playlist for Dasey mainly for when I'm writing them, and this is always a go to when I start the playlist.
Last night I was literally dreaming of a Derek/Casey spin off and I woke up to find this beauty. Thank you so much for this. It is an absolute MASTERPIECE and everything I want to see in a Dasey revival. It is criminal that they are not officially canon. C R I M I N A L.

Somehow I had missed this masterpiece. The way you tell stories through your editing is just magnificent. Great song choice.
I especially love when he says "I guess we're not going to prom together " while he watches her walk in the prom. That had the same feeling of sadness and longing as "you're right" in response to that "same difference" Then that cut to Casey watching Derek and Emily and dancing together. This left off on a far more satisfying ending rather than an ambiguous one.
Thank you so, so much!! I was playing around with clips when the quote about not going to prom showed up. And it made sense that, in a universe where Dasey is dating secretly, Derek would be crushed about not doing prom together but he would still downplay his feelings a little because it's Derek. And of course they would each go with someone else and feel sad and jealous.

This is what I wanted to happen with Derek and Casey.
I'd love it if Michael and Ashley were to work on something else together. I know we have Life with Derek, Vacation with Derek, Life with Luca, and Michael directed Ashley in his movie called: People Hold On; but it'd be so cool if they did a romcom or a romantic thriller as love interest.
Honestly, I just want to see them in more things together.

I've seen the headcannon that Dasey slept together somewhere between futuritis and vacation with Derek and where I don't agree completely (bc they'd still be too messed up during vacation to act that happy) I think this is how it progresses....say Derek and Casey eventually get more comfortable at college... sleep over at each others dorms and go to the same parties, have more mutual friends etc. It's easier to not acknowledge their relation when the family isn't around. Also in the reboot the pilot starts with them in the same bed which means somewhere along the timeline after college they probably decided to get a place together.
So somewhere during all this, they've definitely acted on that UST. However, in vacation with Derek in the boat scene, she was so uncomfortable when he was touching her and she says 'don't touch me'... and that has definitely not been the case in all the years of them living together. So maybe it wasn't sex but definitely something major has happened between vacation & futuritis.

I just feel like they would have had something really clutch if they’d had the guts to follow the chemistry. They weren’t blood related. They were already teenagers when their parents got married. Have you ever watched a soap? Right now Sam is madly in love with Dante but years ago Sam had an affair with Dante’s dad and got pregnant with his kid-AND THEN Sam’s mom and Dante’s dad had an affair and have a daughter together so Sam and Dante share a sister. It’s all good.
