Wow..... Infinite respect for bringing up this dialogue, King Champside! 🫡 I've heard NO ONE else approach this matter. A very great and insightful conversation. Mauricio is obviously not educated about African history/Afro-American culture. In a sport rife, and dominated by Black men, it's quite unfortunate that our culture is overlooked and often misrepresented (Of course that ties into a MUCH LARGER societal issue.) These things should be discussed and officials in boxing MUST KNOW that they should opt to consult and involve our community more readily. Much respect to him though, for taking on the concept and wanting to create and present something in HONOR of this particular holiday.
The issue is multi-layered and presents a number of factors, one being that there is no organized Black-centered/African-centered group that he can consult on such things... Perhaps that is something Black boxing fans should think about creating?? He can only use whatever agency is available to him... and likely, whatever outlet he uses, DOES NOT have a commitment or vested interest in Afro-American culture. I can write an essay about this (LOL) but...... I think there is definitely a NEED, as a whole, in boxing for organized Black voices that can provide structure, proper representation, management, and overall support for fighters..... 🤷🏾‍♀

And it followed the bullshit the WBC pulled with backing Alejandra Jimenez publicly then not walking that shit back publicly. Then they didn’t wanna give Franchon her belt back until after the others did. I don’t forget shit. I appreciate you asking him the tough questions. Salute.

I understand both sides and I am grateful to you Champside for having an honest interview and educating the gentleman on the voice of Black men regarding the belt.
When I saw the belt my only critique was they should’ve had the chains being broken and not connected but otherwise I don’t like the attitude of “I don’t want this belt” Tank could’ve expressed his disapproval in a better way so that it could’ve been a learning experience. I won’t call Russell a sell out for having a different perspective about this belt than the new Hebrew Black movement folks who sometimes come off as condescending towards people who are proud to identify as descendants of slaves and don’t want to identify as Hebrew or whatever else is the new thing among Black folks to other themselves. I am proud of my ancestors and don’t mind identifying with their pain and endurance

It all make sense now @champside why Mayweather say F the belts and why Pbc Rob the Russels out of so Many victories and never give Russel a shot pbc knew russel wasn't with the culture. Why accept a deplorable belt that nobody else want because everyone of your pairs find it offensive even the winner dismiss that Juneteenth belt and they gave it to someone who didn't won thier fight that night the WBC gave it to who they know had to say yes so they don't look bad they gave it to Russell.. Keep in mind Black fighter and the WBC had been going at it for years. That one black friend always make the whole group look bad.
@champside hats off and you Manage to get all of this on tape no wonder the views was low this week . You had them in the loop 👑. Alot won't understand it but I do thanks brother.
Additional all Your Gary Russel video are a t higher viewing than everyone else this week if Pbc is not promoting the Russel like the Russel mentioned then who is ? The wbc wanted Russel and Crawford to fight I think you now know were the shots are coming from.
