This song is so real. My father has always been in my life. A principled and hardworking self made man. A prime example of a manly man. But we've never been able to have a real conversation, maybe because of my fuck ups throughout my teenages or maybe because he's so old school. But I'm working hard to make something of myself so he can feel safe that he's raised a man too. And maybe after all of that is done we can have a man to man conversation and I can find out what he thinks of the world and what his opinions are.
