I tried to manage my caffeine intake as much as possible. It has a rebound effect and it was havoc on my GI after I picked up a parasite on a tour. I wasn't a regular smokeless tobacco user, but a pinch of Skoal got me through more than a few long nights that turned into longer days. If I was really in the sleep dep hole I would pack a double decker: one in the lower lip and one in the upper.
maybe its different in canada but they definetly use both dexidrine and modafinil in the military. i think its more common with fighter pilots but guys on the ground definetly take it to stay up sometimes. by performance enhancing drugs are you talking about steroids? thats the one i have always wondered about. ive heard they might look the other way on them for special forces guys. as they should, i cant see any reason why operators shouldnt be juiced to the gills on the finest of gear.
On both of my deployments (infantry mind you, not SOF) there were guys on steroids and they were always a liability. Roid rage is a real phenomenon, and adding that to the existing stressors makes a person completely unmanageable. These guys were out of control both on the FOB and outside the wire.
Definitely modafinil. Too many grunts came out and said it, lol. As for steroids, biohacking has come a long way. There are steroids, sarms, peptides, etc. Peptides would be best used, in my opinion..
I'm in the process of joining infantry trying to work my way to jtf2, I always wondered if its "permitted" to use peds. depending on how guys are using them it definitely wouldn't be a bad idea for both being a good operator and maintaining long term joint and muscular health. especially with seeing how demanding of a job being an operator is
It is not permitted to use illegal drugs in any branch, including CANSOF. And you likely don’t need to if you’re young. Plus, selection isn’t just physical. You don’t need to be a superhuman that crushes everything. Not saying you don’t have to be in incredible shape, you do, but if you need to take something to get through, you probably don’t belong. Also, selection is about way more than pushups.
disaster then. disaster now. Nothng's changed. Did you just run out of ways to improve and decided to repeat the fked up mistakes of the 60s? God help you.
Lol they most certainly do john on srs podcast who is a legend in delta flat out admitted this so have multiple other tier 1 and 2 operators this now makes me question anything this individual says obviously they do if you are needing to be awake for over 25hrs at some point its impossible to do without help same thing with ped's lots of guys admitted its a thing
LOL! your excuses to get yourself a fix are almost amusing...if they weren't so stupid. we can;t do it for over 24 hrs ...whaaaa, whaaaa, whaaa! 👶🍼...do you need a pacifier too?

Mood swings definitely affect performance! I don't think steroid use is a smart move.

Are you a “Yes Man”? Willing to sacrifice your soul and brain to the State? If so, the JTF2 is for you

Thank you for your service.
I’d love a video titled: Operator answers your questions about Gun ownership in Canada.
But these types never stick up for our rights….
Informative! Thank you - and Merry Christmas !
Use of amphetamines & stimulants were common with SF, MAC V SOG , Viet Nam 1960s 1970s. Other SOFs used narcotics in the later years.
Yep. The SAS have some crazy drug stories too….
