I live by the house the pre raphaelites lived in in London. Rossetti kept a peacock, which drove the neighbours dolaly with its constant cries. He also kept a pet tiger, which terrified the neighbours. If anyone buys the house (in Cheyne walk in Chelsea) there is a clause in the contract which says peacocks or tigers will not be permitted in the house. Noel
Wonderful! The Pre-Raphaelite movement is one of my favourite art movements, and inspires me a lot (since I love the vibrancy and life, which still is able to capture fantasy in its realism; I also agree that art is especially good when it is meaningful, so I like that these are paintings about something rather than just of someone). Going into their techniques was also very helpful, and I'll be doing my best to apply that to my drawings!
Wonderful video. The detail in the paintings is phenomenal, some are my very favourites. I was introduced to the movement in my much younger days , when the world was a happier place ! To see this today brings back so many memories, I'm very fortunate to have found you . ❤️😊
Really interesting! Is there any reason why she pronounces it "praphaelite", is it just a subjective thing or is it actually just a really miss-leading spelling?

That was great thank you. I look forward to appreciating pre-raphaelite paintings now that I know more about them :)

Walkthrough British Art is my favorite place in the World.
Have been there a single time, and yet I dream with it weekly and think of it daily.

Thanks for watching, and you kind words! It is Pre-Raphaelite (as one would pronounce 'Pre').

thought they were traditionalists, returning to something per-Rennaissance idealism, more medieval..
