7:54 Is actually tragic, that toad couldn't see any other way out, he wasn't strong enough to continue on and tried to find solace in an empty room amidst the chaos. the melancholic music accompanying the scene also kinda sells the point. Poor guy, I couldn't imagine being in that scenario.
Thing i love about this one compared to another hack i saw recently is this one unsettles you with its atmosphere where the other one relied on jump scares and the like
- game.bps - The Haunt - that 2014 (or so) Halloween Hack (fair warning, that thing does pack a lot of Mario and Peach jumpscares - not many, but they are there.) And that's about it. There was the "Mario vs Sonic.exe" hack and its sequel, but they're more on the adventurous side than anything. And then there's that peculiar M A R I O hack to which I still haven't understood much of it. @Aaron Gonzalez - IIRC that one is made from SMBDX. A lot of what is in the clips there wouldn't be attainable in the SNES environment, even if you manage to port most of the higher end technologies (like FX capabilities and whatnot, most of which Ersanio used in "I HATE YOU" if I'm not mistaken? Would kinda explain the Megaman style Luigi fight.) because the SNES environment can only do so much stuff. SMBDX runs on Windows, hence why he used it to make those clips mostly.
Well, you just named it... There is a hack called "THE" 😂 (Full name: THE coronation day). In case you don't know this hack yet, its a strange and confusing "creepypasta" masterpiece
I loved this hack. The mansion level was PAINFUL. Usually, mansions are mazes but there still is a path that appears before your eyes after trying several times, but this one pushes the concept to another level. You have to remember EACH door or it's back to the begining, not speaking of the routes. Draconinf also has very good musical tastes with the Super Metroid song that perfectly suit the "outdoor" levels
I love when Mario or Sonic games are mixed with creepy and horror aesthetics, not stupid "EXE" one, but like adventure games in creepy atmosphere, i dunno, maybe its just me, but this kind of absurd making games more misteriously good, just like Super Mario Fusion Revival, this game has 2 creepy themed worlds, and damn i love them, Sonic Hellfire Saga is also something cool and badass, i want to see more games like this, Mario's Exodus to Death is also something cool, but so sad its unfinished since then... Call of Chtulhu is also cool But i like when "Creepiness" is a part of one big adventure!
It's exactly this that makes the Godzilla NES creepypasta work so darn well. It's not bombarding you with ZOMG WEALISTIC BLUD FOR TEH BLOOD GAWD SPOOPY SCAWEY NO EYES N SCREEMURS N SHIT constantly. It's meandering back and forth between "a little odd but fun looking" to "a bit unsettling". So that when it does pop the actually creepy stuff on you, you're caught more off guard. Of course it kind of drops the ball with the ending, but ah well.
As unsettling as "Arrival on Crateria" from Super Metroid is, this is perhaps the most unsettling remix of it I've heard of it in that first level, and I'd love to listen to the solo track of it on YT if it's out there.
This was my favorite world of this hack, especially since it just comes completely out of utter NOWHERE and is creepy and unsettling all the way through, only the hint of "something" happening in the mines of Shaft C to clue you in to something horrible being up ahead. Loved the music and the atmosphere. I think more Mario hacks need this kind of world without necessarily being Creepypasta hacks.
More games in general, not just Mario Hacks. What I love about this World (Video since I have not played the hack) is just how unfitting it is from what's otherwise a very vanilla hack. It's like the ugly part of the adventure, the morbid aftermath after how much destruction Bowser causes or something like that. I especially love the third level will all the decapitated Yoshi Heads. It would make sence in a messed up headcannon that Bowser would want to exterminate the Yoshis, since they have historically helped Mario even since he was a baby
As I enter this world in my first walkthrough I was scared about the Design and its difficulty. Should be a 1 World Hack. Now I can say some crap Levels in 12 Magic Orbs are harder. Fact: I love this Game

Seriously, this particular world is THE most unsettling Mario hack I’ve ever seen. I dare anyone to name a creepier Mario game.
Me neither

MARIO, I hate you, Coronation Day... this hack puts them all to shame and its in only 1/8 of the game!
I won't say Coronation Day, that game still keeps me up at night but the others are fair game

Every world in this hack before this wasnt THIS scary
nothing could've prepared me for the Halloween theme 😂🤣
Still waiting for someone to make a full rom hack based on that "Blood Whistle" Mario 3 Creepypasta.
As I enter this world in my first walkthrough I was scared about the Design and its difficulty. Should be a 1 World Hack. Now I can say some crap Levels in 12 Magic Orbs are harder. Fact: I love this Game
Yeah this world just don't fit with the rest, everything is normal so far then *CREEPY* then normal again.
You know it's gonna be good when it starts playing the Secret of Mana haunted ruins music
Imagine if a official Mario game did this (this would be unlikely but if it did…..)
I'd be all for it
Wish I could get a hold of that bitching Halloween bit-tune remix.
That was actually fucking terrifying
One of my favorite worlds of
The this hack
There ( something would
Be the valley of dead world only be played during the Halloween season)
This had me until it non-chalantly used halloween as a theme for a level
Not bad.
Not bad.
7:41 how sound of luigi exe
Do cheerful tune in the end of the level sound awkward and unsettling on the GRAVEYARD...
19:29 This reminds me of Too Slow from FNF. What music is this?
Its the ". . ." theme from the Sonic.exe game. The FNF song was inspired by it. Hope this helps :)
Robotnik theme Sonic exe
Flook is unphased by death itself. So why is the play list not posted?
