  • www.sneakerwatc... - DJ Clark Kent is a legend in two worlds. As one of the most respected figures in Hip Hop, Clark Kent produced some of rap's biggest hits and was one of the earliest people to champion Jay Z as the next big thing. However, you can argue that he's just as respected in the sneaker world as his reputation as one of the most notable OG sneakerheads has led to him designing 60 pairs of shoes with major brands like Nike.
DJ Clark Kent recently dropped by and discussed today's sneaker culture in addition to his Ultimate Sneaker Expo in Long Island on September 17, 2016. Along with founding partner, DJ Sharad, Clark Kent's Ultimate Sneaker Expo brings in between 2,500 - 3,200 attendees each year. While Clark Kent acknowledged that kids usually just want Jordans and Yeezys, he said you never know what kind of sneakers and Grails you'll come across due to his belief that the star of ever sneaker show should be the sneakers rather than celebrity appearances and performances.
After talking about the Ultimate Sneaker Expo, Clark Kent addressed the main difference he sees between the younger and older generation of sneakerheads. According to the famous DJ and sneakerhead, the main difference is that there's no longer a hunt or actual discovery of sneakers because people know about and are attached to a shoe months before it's released. Clark Kent also talked about the younger generation wanting shoes early for no good reason and reminded sneakerheads everywhere that at the end of the day, "it's just shoes."
