Thank you! This saved me a lot of time troubleshooting on my '05! On mine, I noticed a deteriorated rubber pad that probably plugged into the plate that you mention. Rather than bending mine, I ran a small bolt through and secured it with a nut and washer.
Thank you soo much for posting this. I took my 06 manual into the Toyota dealership to look at it and they wanted $700 to fix it. They said the switch was bad. Went to a junk yard and grabbed 2 switches tried them both and it still wouldnt catch. 100% was the clutch issue. I used 2 dimes and some electrical tape to close the distance and it worked like a charm.
This was great - exactly my same problem. I had remnants of a rubber nib in the hole in the bracket you bent. Instead of bending it, I grabbed a plastic push pin fastener from my Harbor Freight assortment pack, trimmed it a bit and pushed it into the hole in the tab - voila!
Me pueden ayudar tengo mi Corolla 2008 transmisión manual el cruise control al prenderlo enciende lo único al fijarle la velocidad no se queda activado
Hi , If you can help me with a question : I would like to know if i can hook up and use a cruise control in a car . AURIS/2008/MANUAL/1.4D-4D/1ND-TV . Thank You .
You def do There is two, one at the top of the stroke and one at the bottom. Prob a YT video on it. You have to get on your back and stick your head under the steering wheel, follow the clutch pedal you will see them.
Ok I see it at the :46 mark. Did you have to remove the steering wheel to get to it? When your head is under the dash looking up, is the switch hidden on top of that spring? There is a big bundle of wires also. Should I clip the zip ties so move those out of the way? Thanks. I have looked and while I see the brake switch I can’t see if there is any kind of switch on the clutch. Mine did not come stock with cruise.
@@z06baron6 I found the mounting location. Its buried deep. Anyway theres a bolt in mine. So I need to buy the pressure switch. Is it possible that you could tell me where the plug comes from? Which wire loom possibly since I cannot see where it might be. I want to confirm the plug is there before opening all the cruise control parts. Sorry to ask but I have search high and low and the videos are impossible to find.

Yep! I just bent the lever that pushes the clutch switch back a bit. 240,000 on the car still going strong.

I just glued a penny to that little table
Works like a charm! Thanks for the video 😀
Great video. Mine is also a manual transmission. Found the rubber spacer on the floor and super glued it back in place.
Thanks, 245,000 miles and going strong
Thank you so much. I changed the cruise control on my Toyota Corolla 2006. Your video was very helpful.

I wouldn't buy a new switch, the plastic just rubs down, you just need to add a bif tape and something to thicken what presses the switch @@marrzie467
