@@RJLM330 displacement and reliability doesn’t really go together imo, you can have a large displacement engine be reliable and a stock displacement engine be unreliable. It’s about the total engine combo.

Another great video Gary! I remember that oil return mod from a previous video and ill have to remember that when i go thru the 2058cc. The only thing i remember doing was enlarging the oil return hole. I think that size of groove it the perfect size to retain oil to keep the seal wet and allow it to drain on shutdown. Keep it up im jealous you look like your having fun:)

Awesome video with careful and detailed procedures. Just the way to do it to make sure the thing survives and doesn’t self destruct. So many details that need to be accounted for. I saw a new engine rebuild that lasted for 5 minutes due to a mismatched oil pump cover.

First time i have seen someone have to clearance a case for a 74 stroke. i would double check that stroke. drilling that fitting is an old Berg trick and why did you not use the drill press to drill the case? not hatein just curious
@@Fastvw1 I verified the stroke off camera during mock up. It came in at 74 I can almost guarantee I wouldn’t need to clearance the case if I wasn’t using stock rods.

I got a question I'm building my mini stroker is about the cam bearing I got the double thrust and on my as41 stock case I don't have the groove in one case so the bearing seat do I have to make the groove so the cam bearing seats
Excuse me, upper vent on rear main is not needed for catch air as we already have stock vent, no? And from experience youll need to notch the cilinders and pistons also. I turned 20tou from the top on the pistons to no put spacers between barrels and block.
No, there is not a vent currently on the stock cases. That’s why you need to add both lines into the case. Cylinders and pistons were fine without mods.

Honestly I’d reach out to CB and see what they have to say. Shouldn’t be that much with all new parts. What oil clearance do you have between the crank and rod bearings?

Proper dont right oil returns well worth it. Not over filling engines helps as well esp with deep sumps. Oil level is key

I’m just trying to pass along what I’ve learned along the way. There are other details as well but they aren’t as important as these basic details.

His reply was that is right in the sweet spot of .016” to .020” we like to see.

Note I hear that Silverline Bearings has gone out of business.
I had to file my Silverline main bearing set too so I think its a common issue.
I didn’t know they went out of business. That could be good or bad considering they were about the only main bearings sets we can get.

The value is going to be close to a stock rebuild but buying a new crank. Prices are subject to where you live.
