In the case of this projector, this is not true 4K. This type of chip inside the projector is not capable of 4K (not capable of 4K resolution - this is upscaled 4K)
I wonder why my computer sees this as a 1080 monitor and sets that as default. If I force it up to the highest available res, which is still short of 4K, it doesn't look as good or as sharp. What is this thing really? Also how do I get back some of the contrast ratio? Black screen paint? It has worse blacks than my old 1080 bulb powered $700.00 projector. Other than that it is good. bright as hell, and detail seems ok on a painted wall. Laser speckle is noticeable but it depends what you are watching to a degree. At this point I think I would have spent the extra and gotten the new Ben Q one. Not that this one is bad or anything, but i dont think its 4K just really good 1080 and again, the contrast ratio, blacks are not at all good.
Hi Chris, another question if i may? I just read post from another UA-cam reviewer mentioning that the laser speckle is out of hand. I was hoping for your feedback on how you felt the speckle is on this N1 Ultra? I appreciate your help in advance!
Tested brightness by multiple users averages out to 2200 ANSI, which is still higher than most of the portable 4K projectors. Do you recommend ALR screen to get better contrast, or your think the 1600: 1 contrast is good enough for a white screen/wall?
I would wait a little bit before changing screen… from Chinese reviews seems ALR screen can have a negative impact in speckle level… seems that best results are obtained with less reflective and porous surface like an acoustic screen… maybe the effect is limited to fresnel and CLR screens, and conventional long throw ALR could be a safe buy, but I would prefer to wait the feedback of some users, before buying one…
I want and need a screen. I have a roll up projector screen 100" from amazon that wasn't exactly cheap but turned out to be garbage as the edges curve inwards. My video shows some bad keystone at times, the thing is in person it's not really bad but the ultrawide lens to fit everything in the shot isn't helping one bit.
It's unfortunate that it has Widevine L1 support but the Netflix app doesn't want to cooperate. I suppose there's some dependencies missing? Looks great otherwise.
They just don't have the Netflix certification so it's not a supported approved or white listed projector. Shame I hope they can get that shorted out with Netflix but I imagine it involves paying them a huge sum for this.
Wow! They definatly took this to the next level in terms of specs! Luv the versatile swivel design Chris and the speakers sound really good! Remarkable! 👌
Is it really 4000Ansi Lumens? Really?? I've seen some reviews that say that no way it 4000, closer to 2200 lumens. How does it stack up to the UST projector images like Formovie Theater or Hisensn PX Pro or BenQ V7050i? How good is the 3D Mode. Do you get paid by JMGO to do this review. Gotta ask. Thanks.
No I didn't get paid by JMGO or it would be flagged as sponsored, I have no way to correctly measure 4000 ansi lumens with my equipment, but it's brightner than the 3000ansi lumen BenQ X3000i I recently reviewed.
@@Techtablets Wow. didn't expect a response that fast. I stared looking at the UST projectors that I mentioned. Wonder if you got a chance to preview any of those and how the image quality compares to the JMGO. Thanks!
Hey, The Hook Up tested this projector and mentioned that there’s a major problem with laser speckle. In your video I only see you testing the N1U on a white wall, which I’ve heard can reduce the visibility of speckle. Have you tested it on an actual projector screen and if so, was there an increase in speckle?

BenQ is also very good, I just reviewed the X3000i 4k gaming projector but this is better. Runs cooler, it's brighter and has better speakers. Plus the smaller size and gimbal style is good. The BenQ also only has manual focus.

Great - your video is helpful - Thanks - -can i ask about the Zoom of the lens Lossless or no ? and what about 720p and 1080p signal upscale handling ?
Definitely but sadly I can't use one in my office as I use the wall for various other videos. Projector reviews only are a small portion of what I review and I also ready moved my whole room around to have the flattest possible wall to test projectors with. Maybe one day when I have a spare room to set up with a fixed 100" ALR projector screen.
So it looks like now that some honest reviews are out that are not PAID FOR an obnoxious " Laser Flicker" is taking the wind out of JMGO's sails ..Too bad this video did not mention this..I would not have purchased on Kickstarter.
Mine unit has no laser flicker or speckle or it would have been mentioned. I was not paid for this video, feel free to ask JMGO to confirm this. My only guess is maybe they hand picked perfect review units?
If this is true I apologize but I guess them sending you projector is in a way a kind of a payment. But it makes no sense for them to be able to solve the problem on a handful of projectors and not do it for all of them so this kind of puts me in a quander I'm hoping maybe the review I watched showing laser speckle are the exception and not the rule.
Looking into this vs the ls 12000. I have high ambient light, I was told n1 ultra will be better because of the 4000 ansi brightness, but I’ve heard the test show it’s only 2700 ansi, which is the same as the Jvc. What do you think?
Thanks for the video! I recently got this machine and it is stunning! Did you do anything special to get the 15ms for gaming? I'm not sure if I should select "game" in the picture mode as I can't find a "low latency" option anywhere xD
Thanks for the review it is very good but I am interested in a few things like f it is possible to replace laser and the manufacturer can specify where and for how much it can be done, I know how many thousands of hours there are but from experience I know that these are empty statistics, what distance to the image e.g. 150''? and please buy a screen :P
Thanks for watching! Yeah the screen I know I need it, but I simply cannot put up an ALR screen in my studio as I use this room for many other things sadly :( Not doing that for 4-5 projector reviews per year. Maybe when I have a new room for a projector set up. As for replacement laser, no idea on that sorry. I wouldn't think anyone else would do it but them JMGO and then I think would would be out of luck. For 150" you would have to have a very big room, that's about 300-320 cm from the wall if I worked this out right.

1080p @120hz has been confirmed in another review
@@driver26swx31 ama check that out
Hi TechTablets,
why didn't you mentioned the huge speckle problem ? Did you really see none of them ?
Great - your video is helpful - Thanks - -can i ask about the Zoom of the lens Lossless or no ? and what about 720p and 1080p signal upscale handling ?
It is not 4000 ansi lumes bro.
isnt a good projector screen important for optimal viewing ?
Definitely but sadly I can't use one in my office as I use the wall for various other videos. Projector reviews only are a small portion of what I review and I also ready moved my whole room around to have the flattest possible wall to test projectors with. Maybe one day when I have a spare room to set up with a fixed 100" ALR projector screen.
Great review man. I'm planning to buy one. I've a query about screen mirroring. Can it mirror android and ios devices?
Netflix is not work on it 😂😂😂
So it looks like now that some honest reviews are out that are not PAID FOR an obnoxious " Laser Flicker" is taking the wind out of JMGO's sails ..Too bad this video did not mention this..I would not have purchased on Kickstarter.
What screen are you using tho
How to run firmware Android for Jmgo N1 U Local China ?
Does it have bluetooth? So i can connect a bluetooth speaker to it and have the sound come from the speaker?
Please compare with Formovie X5 and xgimi horizon pro
Looking into this vs the ls 12000. I have high ambient light, I was told n1 ultra will be better because of the 4000 ansi brightness, but I’ve heard the test show it’s only 2700 ansi, which is the same as the Jvc. What do you think?
High ambient light- even 6000 ansi lumens won't help. Imagine IMAX theater running with open windows
Hello, is Turkish (Turkish) available among the language options?
Not after allahs big shake
Thanks for the video! I recently got this machine and it is stunning!
Did you do anything special to get the 15ms for gaming? I'm not sure if I should select "game" in the picture mode as I can't find a "low latency" option anywhere xD
Glad you like it. Yes you need to select the game option there for the best latency.
For 150" you would have to have a very big room, that's about 300-320 cm from the wall if I worked this out right.
is it just me, or does it look like this projector is producing a very red image? i also noticed on other reviews
I didn't really notice it myself. And you say other reviews show it with a red tint?
У какого проектора лучше изображение formovie v10 4k или jmgo n1 ultra?
Your reviews are extremely well done, thank you for all the work you put into them.
I watched another reviewer who reported seeing severe speckles with his N1 ULTRA. Did your copy of the projector have this issue?
No speckles or noise at all no. Maybe he has a faulty unit since mine is fine.
@@Techtablets That's a relief to hear! I ordered one from the Kickstarter campaign and got very concerned after hearing that one reviewer had really bad laser speckle.
@@bentonpix I just got it delivered today and I am projecting that on a white wall, the laser speckle on my unit is a disaster, my wife couldn't see it, but I see the greasy feeling all over the image in parts, I hate to say this, but this is a huge disappointment
@@sumanthlakshminarayanababu1406 I’m really sorry to hear this! That’s a huge disappointment! Thanks for sharing your experience!
@@sumanthlakshminarayanababu1406 it’s very possible that seeing the laser speckle could vary from person to person just like the rainbow effect does. I think the reviewers that report not seeing it, genuinely don’t see it. But just like the rainbow effect, that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist for all people.
Thanks for sharing!
Is it brighter than BenQ X3000i after your test?
Which one of them will you recommend?
Thank you so much!
Yes brighter than the X3000I if you plan to game at 1080p I would get the X3000i, but forever thing else I found this better.
@@Techtablets Thanks for the reply! But why X3000I is better for 1080p gaming, as I didn’t see you test 1080p gaming for N1 Ultra.
Did you notice any laser speckle? If so where you using a screen or projecting it onto a white wall?
I just got it delivered today and I am projecting that on a white wall, the laser speckle on my unit is a disaster, my wife couldn't see it, but I see the greasy feeling all over the image in parts, I hate to say this, but this is a huge disappointment
@@sumanthlakshminarayanababu1406 Thanks for info ,i am planning to buy this and i feel image is more of a pink tint, is this for me or you can feel the same and offcourse laser speckle.
Ive you mount it to thé ceiling how can you hide adapter en cables ?
Cable tie them to it?
i can turn of auomatic correction right?
How does it compare against the benq one u reviewed a few days back?
Smaller better design, auto focus and auto keystone. Brighter, better latency, better fan noise, better speakers and it's even cheaper. So a better all-round deal 100%
Can i watch my apple tv on this thing
Hello, is Turkish (Turkish) available among the language options?
I don't think it does.
@@Techtablets why don't you think There are also xgimi and many more brands. I didn't want you to guess, I just wanted to say if you have the projector, tell me.

Thanks for the great video sir...I am backer of the Kickstarter and am starving for info on this unit so I appreciate it very much. I am curious if we would be able to sideload Netflix on this unit and have it work. Maybe through that Desktop Manager app I saw on the home screen? I will have to wait and see😂
You can but it's SD. I gave up messing with APK files (It's painful with Android TV) and used my own Android TV box with it a Dynalink that cost me about $40 netflix is now in 4k working fine it's not ideal. But I'm waiting on JMGO with a work around.
@@Techtablets thanks very much for your reply... I won't likely see the N1 for well over another month so keep the fingers crossed... appreciate all your videos buddy and look forward to more 👍
Thanks many more to come.
@@Techtablets They really arent doing themselves any favors by not getting the Netflix license like other competitors such as Anker Nebula 4k and Dangbei Mars Pro 4k. How many potential customers turn away from it because of that? It can’t be that expensive to license if others are doing it in cheaper projectors.
Just saw a very detailed review that revealed very serious speckle issues with all types of screens, very worried as I am awaiting delivery, hoping it is just a faulty unit, any one received a post production model??
It must be a faulty unit that one as I see no speckles and you'll see in my recordings no speckles aka noise and grain. My unit is 100% free of it.
@@Techtablets Thanks for coming back to me, I understand prototype's were sent out to reviewers, hopefully my unit is the same as yours in performance, thanks again👍
@columcreaven8860 hi, did you receive yours? If so, what do you think?
@@wahidemran833 I recieved my unit, thankfully it appears to be working with no issues, I use a 4k player and the picture is excellent in 4k and 3d, some lip sync issues and soap opera effect but they can be adjusted. No speckle issues but auto correction no longer works, it did at the start, all in all I am happy and relieved!!!
Great review Chris, just wondering if you've completely given up on reviewing the lower end products that focus on bang for buck.😅
Not yet 😂 Recently i reviewed the Teclast T50 and I have soon the new Chuwi €230 laptop with N100. Plus the new Teclast tablet. So a few things coming.
@@Techtablets that's good to hear. Thought you'd thrown in the towel and went all out sponsored. (Not that I would blame you). I suspect going forward people are going to be much more price conscious given the economic climate
No no and this isn't sponsored. But if the interest is still there I'll keep covering the cheaper tech. But if it gets crappy views the low end tech it's not worth my time for a $200 product.
@@Techtablets that's fair enough. I feel like the real benefit for mass appeal is the more budget friendly (but well specd ) tech. There's always winners in each price segment. Even the big names have some winners. Anyway, looking forward to the teclast and chewi reviews
Coming soon, working on them now as I type this. 1 or both next week. But fi they get good views and interest I will continue reviewing the cheap tech like I said if there is no demand then sadly no.
I hope we get it here in India soon. I had zeroed down on the XGIMi H6 but this seems a bit better. My budget is 2 lakh rupees (2500 USD).
Hi, just had someone here ask me to review the Xgimi H6, I think this is better but of course can't say 100% until I review the H6 which I hope Xgimi will send me one. I was also quite impressed with the BenQ X3000i but this turned out to be better. But if you game the BenQ can do 1080p240hz for PC gaming.
@@Techtablets Not much into gaming. I just hope JMGO sell it India officially soon. XGIMI have full operations in India.
Hopefully they do sell in India.
That's a shame.
@@sureshpatel3992 Well if they sell the N1 Ultra beyond 2500 USD, I am already out anyways.
Can u cast Netflix to this?
You can chromecast yes. Haven't tried Netflix casting it but jsut used my Dyanlink $40 4k Android TV box for netflix in 4k.
How do i order on kickstarter?
On the right side of the page you see the offers and you click there.
Is 1080p 120fps possible on this? I think i see an 1080p option in there.
60 Hz is the projector's maximum refresh rate, even at 1,080p. Hence you can not find any hz info on their kickstarter.
Yes as far as I know it's 60hz If you game at 4k that's fine but the BenQ I just reviewed does 120hz and 240hz at 1080p
@@Techtablets @X Got it thanks.
No worries so if you game a lot the BenQ but if you game only at 4k60 this JMGO.
One reviewer on UA-cam name Joelster I believe tested it with his Xbox and confirmed ✅ that it does 120hz in 1080p mode.
I'm confused ...
Did you check any of those claim? i've read two review how say that it's not event close to 4000 ansi ... and that the latency i really no 15ms either... both say it's not a bad projector, but it's lying on the spec sheet ...
What do you think ?
I have the XGIMI Horizon Pro, is it worth switching over to the N1 Ultra?
Because they promise 4000ANSI Lumen but we have never seen any tests.
So what are your thoughts on this projector in comparison with the Horizon Pro? :)
Having reviewed both I prefer this unit, the design, fan noise, super quick key stone and auto focus. Plus 15ms and the overall image quality.
@@Techtablets But if you would compair only the image quality, The N1 Ultra performs better?
@@Razer.The_Belgian_Waffle picture performs better but is it worth upgrading it's hard to say, interested to hear what Techtablets advises
Slightly better with the N1 Ultra but I really don't think it's worth upgrading over it for just that.
N1 Ultra is better yes, better overall Vs the Horizon Pro. But as for upgrading depends it's not a huge massive up. It's like moving from an S20 to S23 Ultra. Improvements all around but still end of the day does the same thing. If you have money to burn then yes 🙂
I got it and it's amazing! 🎉 Great review ❤
Glad to hear you also find it amazing. Yes super pleased by everything expect the lack of native Netflix. By the way how do you find the speakers? I'm amazed at the bass even at low volumes. My wife couldn't believe it was the projector and thought I had my desktop large speakers on.
@@Techtablets the speakers are impressive for a projector, it's wonderful in so many ways.
Try Formovie X5 we wanna see
The price is a joke
$1500 USD? Hmm well it's better than the 2.1k BenQ I just recently reviewed and a lot cheaper. 4k projectors are not cheap sadly.
This is a bargain
For the Kickstarter price defiantly is! 4k and this spec and quality for $1500. Most are all over 2k plus and this will be once it's off kickstarter.
@@Techtablets They'll likely have holiday/blackfriday sales that will drop it closer to the Kickstarter price.
