Sailing passes, poor velocity control, poor accuracy, throw in trying to extend plays to the point of hurting yourself...are these not the same issues pointed out by the pundits who advised against drafting him on day one?
My concern with AR, when it comes to a QB, throwing the ball can’t be a weakness for a QB. I am still hopeful that he can dial it in, but it’s tough when a QB’s biggest issue, is the actual throwing of the football. Still hopeful he can turn it around
It's not mental issues that are causing the inaccuracy. Consistent accuracy is a skill he has never possessed. He can learn it, but these are the same problems he had in college.
Geno, Goff, Darnold, Baker, Carr, Feilds, even Willis to a lesser degree… all QBs that needed time to mature and their former teams dumped them to find success later in their careers.. do we want to be that fan base.. do we want to be that organization🤷

@@gardockis.playground Hahahahahahah Sorry it was just funny to read you claim that like it means anything, with so much context you’ve ignored. AR is not Peyton Manning buddy. 1998 NFL is not 2024 NFL. AR in 1998’s NFL would be even worse and rookie Peyton in todays NFL would be leagues better than he already was. Peyton also set every rookie passing record in 98 and then took the worst team in the league to 13-3 in just his 2nd season. How’s that comparison looking again? Don’t ever talk about football like you know what you’re saying, because that was atrocious what you just did.
He finds the right guys, but then is inaccurate just like in college. That will take some time. We picked the best QB available at the position and going for a veteran just wasnt an option after the failed back to back seasons
AR is like that new bike you get and you want to do all these neat tricks with but spite what you want to believe you are still learning to ride & you have training wheels on. AR has all the tools to be a great QB, but has quite not learned how to use them all the right way. Steichen wants to throw the ball but is limited due to ARs decision making & inaccuracy. Steichen needs to rely on JT and run rpo & play action until AR can show the ability to play efficient. Simplify it like the ravens did with Lamar his first few seasons.
I agree with most of it but AR is making all the hard throws and missing the easy ones. And I’d like to add that Mitchell has to come back toward the los and get that pass deep to him instead of just waiting on the ball to get there
If your being honest he has been bad in every game he has completed aside the 1st jags game. 50% or worse passer in all games since. Even the texans game this year. If the safries break up the deep balls to pierce, hed have been horrendous. And if he cant hit the chunk play at this point he might be the worst QB ever...and thats not a joke.
AR will need a couple of years and I said the Colts would win less games than last year. Lotta nitwits thought Colts would have made the playoffs if AR was the qb last year. People don't know how you all had it with Minshew who went 9-6 when he started or played most of the game behind a subpar wr group and a defense that gave up the most points in the entire AFC. AR needs to play 2 years. He's erratic. He's like an NBA player that can dunk better than anyone but his overall skill set is below avg.
How hard is it to figure out not to throw the ball to high? I am not a QB, but I just wonder how that can be corrected! I think the answer is he just needs to practice, practice, practice!!!

Too much adrenalin being excreted by AR's limbic system. That's the problem. He's just throwing it too hard and too long. As he settles down, has some success, and gains some confidence, that will pass.
We won’t know for sure until the end of next year if I’m being realistic. He’s definitely overthinking it. He has all the tools, the question is whether or not he can put it all together.
He can't even throw the ball 10 yards to a open receiver. 4th pick in the first round should make that throw in his sleep. Over throws were not only against Bears. We will see against Steelers D.
Zach id like you to get off the starts and speak from the full games hes actually been able not just to start but play through and finish.. which has only been about 5 to 5.5 full games not seven.
AR was terrible draft pick by a desperate QB And now steichan won't run him cause he can't stay healthy so his best attribute doesn't exist. ARs best hope was to run it 20 times a game and win while he figured it out. Ultimately he is not accurate enough to play in league. He has no consistent fundamentals and he never developed them in HS and college. It's easy to say wait and be patient but as losses pile up that becomes harder.
AR is fine … he needs reps ! Like look at his college career he didn’t have a lot of games under his belt & now in the nfl he’s at his 7th start he just haven’t had enough time to even settle down on top of that the time of possession we be having in these games isn’t enough to see what the defense is doing against him …….. Tom Brady the other day mentioned how important it was for him to earn his starting spot in college & then getting the opportunity to getting prepared to make a real impact in the NFL & watching film & working behind the scenes & really working hard , being a good nfl QB takes a lot of hard work
Yeah, keep telling yourself he’s fine. You’ll be saying that the next two years while he sucks ass. He is Justin Fields. AR will never be a franchise QB.
@@beckg777I agree that he (currently) is not fine. He’s horrible. He’s also incredibly incredibly raw. Steichen needs to put the pressure off of him, and allow JT to be the focal point. That should hopefully open up things to make it easier on AR.
Yup. Totally agree. Run the offense through JT. Make him the focal point, as you say, and let AR relax a bit.
