This is the embodiment of drag racing - those vehicles couldn't be any more different than each other but still running wildly close times. Gotta love it.
I wouldn’t call it the embodiment. You can pull anyone off the street and put them in the van and as long as they nail the tree get similar results.. Don’t get me wrong, I think what Kyle did by turning a boring AF car into something pretty damn cool is cool as hell. But drag racing has a pretty bland and boring AF future when everything is EV..

They didn't while i'm not knocking their work it is just plaid with a minivan body dropped on top, it basically decorative they didn't get anything running it's not even like an EV conversion
@@shaynegadsden Aware, I watched his vids on E-Roy and the conversion. It still took work to get it right, could have had a lot more issues with the body fitment and suspension computer.
@@shaynegadsden it takes alot of electrical work to get all that done. you are discrediting them but you would never be able to do it cause you dont have the funds or the brains for it.
@@6.0_fern no it does not, doing a conversion take a lot of electrical work these are body swaps to avoid that, also sure i may not have the funds i am a cert4 electrician meaning i build plc control systems also i have made new looms for cars and bikes from scratch. Car electricals are about as easy as it gets

Cleetus, you should've drove AROUND the water box & backed into it. You tracked a lil moisture with the fron tires. Apparently enough to spin all the tires a bit.
I NEED to see these guys run some no prep races.. I know James likes it, if they dedicated one build to no prep they could DOMINATE since this is their day job.. Could have it dialed in in the driveway lol

They could do it if they tried - but it would take them a LOT of work to just go rounds at any real small tire no-prep. Any data they have is junk because they've essentially spent most of this channel's life racing the opposite end of the spectrum, sticky radial prep(or radials on mediocre prep at least... lots and lots of radial stuff), so they would be starting from zero. And that's ZERO zero; they wouldn't have a baseline weight distribution, suspension setup, gear ratios, tunes, tire pressures, nothing. Nevermind all the details unique to no-prep, using juice, the games people play, it's a different world that they would have to adjust to(a bit more volatile than the traditional track races too lol). With all the racing that they're already doing, especially with these big races like World Cup and all the drag-n-drives, I just don't think they have anywhere near enough time to be able to legitimately compete in something else like no-prep.
It would be fun as hell watching them climb a steep learning curve again though, it's been a while since they've really faced a long uphill trudge lol

Try keeping the front tires out of the water box cuz it looks like they’re still wet on the launch. That could be the cause of that little bit of slip. Just a thought.
OR because too much torque and the whole front end was lifting up lol
Suspension squats a lot on launch. All suspension sway is lost forward movement to chassis pitch, and it changes available traction too much to which it all has to recover when the springs rebound.

The F150’s have two different lower grills in the bumper. The 5.0 and N/A V6 got the same closed off grill while the ecoboost got an open grill for more airflow. Could be a super cheap easy way to keep fresh air keeping the truck cooled down
The lower grill has louvers controlled by the computer.
N/a v6? I thought the engine choices on the truck were 2.7L Ecoboost 3.5 Ecoboost and 3.5 raptor 3.5 Ecoboost or s/c coyote depending generation?
The Raptor V6 and V8 trucks have it too. My 5.0 truck also has the lower grill, might be a trim thing because I have an XLT with tow package.

Gotta hand it to the Boosted Boiz for what they’ve achieved with that totally sleeper looking Mom’s van. The F150 is fast but the van was quicker. I was noticing that the front tires on the Ford were wet after the burn out box and maybe the slippage was there? 👍👍
The F150 was the fastest it went quicker in the 1/4 mile. The tesla minivan best was 9.55 at 142. The F150 did a faster time of 9.49 at 150 it was the fastest time of the day. Electric vehicles are just more consistent and easier to drive the computer in the tesla does all the work the gases computer is the guy behind the wheel and takes more skill.
@@kenwolf2431 , you can say that about every aspect of drag racing. Those old fuel dragsters were strictly hands on and the talent of the people who built them and tuned them. No computers involved for clutch and fuel and spark and everything else I’m missing.

A buddy of mine had a nice Charger with a 440 six pack. Claims the only street race he ever lost was to a high school kid in a minivan. The light went green, the minivan squealed the tires and the exhaust blew off at the collector. My buddy stalled his car because he didn't know he was racing and thought the van next to him was literally scattering engine parts.

Most XL models have open diffs front and rear, this truck would really benefit from a limited slip front and locking rear from a higher end model or the aftermarket.

Only skill it takes to race a Tesla is nailing the tree. Anyone can with 100k+ can go buy one, put it in launch mode and push the gas pedal..

Makes me wonder about the viewer metrics and how many of us are in the 25-35 bracket. Still got the few old timers who like hanging with the newer generation. Like Sam. I would literally buy a complete set of those 20's for the entire truck, the 18s look too small.
Also, if you wanted (even though I love the look of the truck, even if that blue isn't my first or 10th choice lol)....but you could wrap or paint the entire truck white, throw some "fake" construction decals on the doors (like McFarland Construction/Roofing/Plumbing ECT), and then weld up an ALUMINUM bed rack and throw some PVC piping or an aluminum ladder or something on the top of the rack.... make it look like a legit sleeper (but still keep it light).... and then go and disappoint some people 😅
