- Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle has stepped down for her position following the assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump. The shooting unleashed an intense outcry for her to step down after the agency failed in its core mission. Cheatle held the position since August 2022. As the director she should have visited the rally site to understand what happened and what went wrong. It’s been over a week since the assassination attempt and she still hasn’t gone to the site. She admitted to communicating with the White House on encrypted apps and her people have even admitted to refusing additional security for Trump. She said they didn’t secure the roof or the water tower cuz they had over watch and yet the killer was also flying a drone. Resigned?! She spent 4 and a half hours giving non-answers and dodging questions as best as she could. She failed in her job and had 9 days to get the info together for the congressional meeting and brought no info or refused to give any info she had. Had to have a subpoena issued to her to have her come to the meeting. She should have been fired with no pension or anything. On top of that she should be arrested and charged.
