I preordered the Kindle Colorsoft. I have the Kindle Paperwhite SE and the Kindle Scribe. I love them! I hope it is not problematic for me to say, but Zach, you are so cute! Keep up the good work!!!!

I would like to know your thoughts about Cosmic Horror or Lovecraftian Horror, unless you have spoken about the subgenre already.
I have a color Kobo. I think the new Kindle is similar. The color is not super vivid or bright but I like it. Also, I don’t even notice it not being as clear when reading. I think that is only noticeable when you have another ereader next to it.
I really want to get a Kindle again, especially because I’ve been traveling a lot more recently. But when I used one in the past, I felt like I didn’t read as much. Maybe I should try again because these new ones look really good.
@@MSMDragon I’m honestly the opposite… I got obsessed with how easy it was to read on! I take my kindle with me everywhere I go. I’d say give it another go!! Books are sooo cheap
So far I have a first generation Paperwhite, first or second generation fire. A fire from a few years ago and a signature edition so i have plenty of kindles kicking around. Even though I do read comics and graphic novels I probably won't even look at the new one until there are at least six months of reviews online.
I got a kobo colour earlier in the year, and like the oasis, it has page turn buttons and the spot to hold it. It has colour and you can write on it. My only problem? The lack of Kindle unlimited! KU has SO many horror titles that I love, and I wouldn't mind paying individually for them, but since amazon has the rights to those, they aren't on the kobo store. I still use my paperwhite, and I got the clear case for the back and put a pop socket on it to hold. Having any kind of case def. helps with the holding of it.
@@Kritz_Reads That’s good to know! I’m definitely going to have to get a pop socket or something to hold it. Especially considering they made the bezels even smaller on the new ones. It’s almost like you have to choose one brand… it’s hard to manage both
I just got the most recent Paperwhite and love it but now I wish I had waited and gotten the new color one... Curious to hear what people say about it.
@@jimlay9312 It’s so tough because Amazon gave us no hints about a new lineup coming. There were rumors, but those can’t always be trusted… another reason why I usually buy used. That way i can just sell it for the same price I bought it for. But I couldn’t help it with this one, I already pre ordered :)
I'd recommend the Boox Go Color 7 over the Kindle Colorsoft. Way more features for less money. I still have my Paperwhite, but the Boox Go Color 7 has replaced it. Love being able to read comics on it and download content from the library directly on the device.
I don't have any of these, however, with my failing eyesight, I wonder if one is in my future. When I read on my laptop, I enlarge the font & enjoy having that option. One thing holding me back is I have thousands of books in my library that I am sure I would never ever read once I switched to an electronic reading device. I am curious to see how this video does for you..there was a time when videos discussing Kindle would WAY outperform more typical booktube content. At any rate, i enjoyed your thoughts, as always. @@musicroom7185 You should buy one second hand and see how you like it. I’m not sure the books you have on your shelves will be for sale though… Amazon has an amazing selection but they don’t have it all. Especially when it comes to the very old stuff. I’m also quite intrigued as to how this video will perform on my channel. My guess is that it does quite well since I was one of the first to post about the new product.
@@Wally_stad It’s the eye strain for me… I have an IPad mini and I just can’t stare at that screen, it gives me an instant headache :( I will admit though, they are quite expensive
@@ShadysideLibrary I have personally never struggled with eye strain while reading on a tablet. I do like e ink but honestly $280 dollars for a kindle is insane. You can get a new base iPad for the same price as the new kindle. Last years iPad is $229. Just hard to justify e readers these days. They need to improve the tech in a major way to justify the cost.

150 ppi in color mode,against 300 ppi in b/w is a no brainer.stick with the normal paperwhite if your just reading books.

Too expensive for underperforming outdated tech. Kindle app on the iPad is great. If you’re going to spend $300 on a kindle why not just get a tablet?
