The amount of bare-leg releases now is eclipsing actual new figures from them, bare leg Chika just dropped. I think the amount of money they save on keeping the same mold and same license is a lot more than people realize.
You forgot the "limited edition" re-color versions they started to make.... legit switched from classic black bunny dress to purple and that's it. It is now the special edition. Also the money they save on those plain plastic bases. I love Koto and Myethos, even their hundred dollar figures get a nice and creative base.
@@okeoke4697 I highly disagree. The tights are way nicer, which makes the figure more appealing, but bare leg is intended to be the sexier version because of how much skin is unobstructed.
I personally was happy for the tiger version I missed the bunny version, and selfishly I thought sweet glad I missed out lol. However I can empathize with the bunny owners because I had a similar situation where there was a Rena Ryugu figure I bought only for like 3 months later for them to release the same figure just with bloodstains on her outfit which made it way better. I felt cheated so I can understand why so many ppl are upset.
I think it's just a good reminder to treat companies as companies. They're not friends as much as they try and build that relationship for the exact reason you've given in the video. They prey on the FOMO of collectors.
I'm glad we're all predicting the Yor bunny, it's inevitable at this point. If they do, I will finally purchase my first bunny and officially become a degenerate :D
FREEing's 'rerelease' habits made me amazed when their Miku Bunny went up for preorder again with tights and with all the same features. I'm happy for everyone who can get her now without selling their kidneys. She's the only bunny I'll ever own and she's gorgeous.
@@homoeroticyearning Yeah she's huge so she sits on a mantle in my house. I'd recommend Ikea Milsbo cabinets because my 1/4 Gilgamesh fits in it perfectly, but those cabinets got more expensive since the last time I bought one two years ago O.o
Yea, I have her ordered on AmiAmi. Waiting for invoice rn I think the only reason they kept the tights on is because it’s an actual module in the game, so they can’t just change it
every time a figure youtuber addresses a controversy within the community (such as this one with the re-releases) they really should title the video "breaking my silence/addressing the controversy" cuz that shit is so fucking funny 😭💀
I'm almost glad that I don't collect bunnies and don't need to deal with this...But then I realize freeing doesn't only make bunnies 🙃 Still glad that the fortitude Levi is made by kotobukia and got a proper rerelease
Same here! im mainly a only male figure collector so its not like most of freeing's stuff applies to me but dang thats such a dirty move on their part i feel so bad for people that buys them ^^;
The timing is definitely dirty business imo. There are two sides to the coin. Those who missed the Taiga original bunny ver preorder now get the chance to get the tiger ver if they want. But ofc it’s at the expense of those who are barely receiving the bunny ver, which super sucks. FREEing was also able to hook both groups of people-those who missed or skipped the bunny ver and then those who ended up getting both bunny AND tiger. So yah I’m assuming FREEing see this as a win even tho the tactic is a shady… Either way, both figures in this video are super cute for sure 🥰 but that stock images skit tho is a winner hahaha
I really do like the Tiger version, but yeah if I had bought the bunny version before the tiger was announced, lucky for me I'm new into the hobby and I was debating getting the bunny taiga when they announced tiger, I would be Hella pissed cause I find the tiger way better. But I have still considered getting the bunny as well, since her price seems to be dropping and they fill different niches for Taigas character. Yeah it's a greedy move, but I prefer this to a bare leg release at least both versions are nice and people will have the choice between the two versions. But also would have been nice if they announced it at the beginning of the year for Year of the Tiger and all.
It just sets a terrible precedent, a figure with alternative designs released back-to-back. Another figure UA-camr theorized this could result in a fear of POs in the future. That would be a well warranted backlash.
I do think they did us dirty by not releasing both versions at once. Yet I still got myself the tiger version, because I like it alot. Personally I don't think that it necessarily bad thing that they sell very simalar versions, I only hate they way they did it, not giving us the shoice on which version we want.
Hahahaha... if anything, I've done the "oh, that figure is amazing! I gotta watch the show / play the game really quick to justify the purchase!"... XD
The whole analogy of comparing the love of sculptors creating figures and the love of game developers creating games to the executives adding "different versions" of figures/adding Loot Boxes is amazing! Just goes to show how greedy companies are getting plus the rise of figure's base costs increasing so drastically
honestly your rant is genuinely very informative. I'm super new to figure collecting and I have like no idea what I'm doing, so hearing your experienced takes on sells tactics these big companies make in terms of general figure releases really help give us noobs an idea what to look out for.
hooked from the “HER BASE PLATE IS A FUN YELLOW!!! IT LOOKS LIKE CHEESE!!”, stayed for the super thoughtful taiga monologue - everything you said was so eloquently laid out!!!
I enjoy hearing your thoughts on this because you've got some valid complaints, but also some new ideas that hadn't crossed my mind (Cat ear swap?? I'd absolutely get a neko version of Kaguya and some others). If they made accessories like that, that would be such a great middle ground. It would cost them extremely little to make an extra set of ears/tail, and then sell that as an accessory for $40 (or since it's FREEing, let's be honest it'd be $50+) but it would give the buyers choice without necessarily taking advantage of them by pressuring them to shell out for another full price figure.
this would be so amazing but i feel like by using these kinda (slightly scammy) tactics that they are atm they make a lot more money and they're kinda going for profit not customer satisfaction :,) i wish there was a way to submit requests or ideas like goodsmile company has, so many people have great much more original and creative ideas that could probably make them more money and also sales, with better customer satisfaction ect
Ryuko Matoi from Kill la Kill is a B-Style re-release with tights. The only change is the outfit color. quite frankly I'm happy to get this figure without paying crazy ebay prices for it.
This was a good rant with a lot of good points. I love love love Taiga bunny but they seriously should have released them both at once. Your idea of offering swappable animal alternates is genius!!! I know this PROBABLY isn’t the case, but part of me wonders if them re-releasing My Dear Bunny Miku with all her original features is like…an attempt at offering a kind of consolation, lol. “Sorry about our dick move with Taiga, uh, how about a rerelease of a unique and coveted bunny, eh?? Eh???”
I loved the rant! You had really great (and fair) points. I was just laughing last night because I saw the Kaguya bare-legged bunny go up for pre-order, and I thought, "Wow. That was quick." 😅
I really enjoyed the skit in the middle wasn’t expecting that 😂, I actually debated on getting the original taiga when it was up for pre-order, but decided not to go for it but yeah once I saw the Tiger vr it was basically an instant pre order, although one of my friend who got the original was quite sad about it
As messed up as the world is, you do not need to explain or justify when you add something into your life that brings you joy. Your smiles as you open your latest addition brings joy into my life! Thank you
They did a similar thing with the new 1/7 Rena Ryugu scale figure- it released, and then a month or so later, a version of the exact same figure with blood splatters was announced. People were mad!
GSC pulled the same thing as well with Rena from Higurashi by announcing the bloody "Tragedy Ver." roughly just after the original had been shipped out
Taiga white tiger ver. sounds adorable! I agree that she definitely looks better in white, but needs her tiger features, and hey, white tigers exist! Wait don't give freeing any more alternate release ideas...
Hello Hayley. I am a collector of Kamen Rider toys that are made by Bandai. Though I also collect Nendoroids too. Those timing things and baiting collectors like us to not release the much superior version are already the trends and can be said to be the norm and tradition already in the said franchise. They even make a premium version with more show-accurate colors and it is obvious that sometimes they do not maximize the features initially just so they have something to improve further upon a year or years later. Think that you can just wait for the superior one? Well, think again, because when they make the improved version, it is lacking some parts, making you also buy the former and inferior version. They make sure that you buy both versions.
im kinda happy i held off on ordering bunny taiga. i ended up ordering the tiger version in place and imo shes way cuter and makes her stand out from other bstyle bunnies
The Lucy bunny is so adorable ❤️ I’m not even into the bunnies, but seeing Lucy (and Chiyo) I’ve been so tempted to drop everything for them 😂 Also 23:45 no cause this is very real and valid. After missing out on Shinji/Erwin nendos and seeing the price rise (and also the gen lack of figs for them), I’ve gotten so salty I bought the nendo doll customs to make them myself 😭 It’d be a really fun project though for Taiga, I mean you don’t really have much to loose at this point 😂
Loved the meme skit! I really agree with everything you said and all 3 points. I’m in the camp that prefers the bunny but I appreciate the tiger. Still I like the white suit more than the yellow. So a white tiger is optimal!
Taiga is my first bunny figure so I’m a bit taken aback by this happening 😭😭😭 I’m SO glad I prefer the bunny version cause, like you, I like the white suit way better…that being said, the open mouth on the tiger version is very cute
I definitely think your rant explained a lot of the freeing bunny hype to me, describing it as more of a Brand culture over other scale figures makes a lot of sense! I've never been into freeing bunnies and it always seemed wild to me how people who are (no shade ofc) are usually SO into it and have multiple super expensive ones. freeing as you said definitely cultivated this mentality specifically through their marketing practices and is now preying on it. I really hope things don't continue like this in the future... any ill-will could literally just be solved by selling both versions at the same time. insanity
if FREEing really wanted money, they would make 1/4 male bunny figures but i guess that makes to much sense. I'M WAITING FOR MY GOJO 1/4 BUNNY FREEing PLEASE
You made some really good points that I hadn't thought of before! And I don't think you over-reacted in any way at all! It's really a shame that they don't release both versions at the same time, same going for the bare legged bunnies. Although what makes this interesting is their Miku re-release, with her tights and all, she looks to be exactly the same as the og drop, not sure what makes Miku different but they didn't strip her of her tights. Hmm not sure, but thank you for the video!
The Taiga tiger ver. is a blessing for those who held out and didn't get the bunny ver. immediately. Then again the bunny ver. might go for exact or lower than retail now at the secondary market. Also, I wouldn't mind a bare-leg Lucy bunny wearing a blue suit~ 😆
I 100% understand your disappointment over Freeing sale tactics and i agree. I also have the B-Style Taiga and i love her! Between the two i would have picked the "classic" one because she fits better my bunny collection and i prefer her expression over the Tiger Ver one. Tho, if i had to choose i would have loved a "mixed version" with the white costume, the facial expression of the classic one AND the tiger tail and ears.... The Tiger Ver imho is too much on the eye, too much yellow and i much prefer the "soft vibes" of the first version! I also LOVED the maid outfit that some people posted on MFC, that would have been beautiful, pretty much out of character but whatever. About Freeing, i'm personally scared because i have other 7 B-Style on pre-order and from now on i fear they might release a "better version" (or at least one i like more myself) in the next months; after the Taiga Tiger i found myself more reclutant on pre-ordering more B-Styles cause you'll never know what's on their mind/plans and that's sad and disappointing at the same time. Out of my 7 B-Style pre-orders, 3 are re-releases: Ryuko Matoi (love the red Ver so i'm not too worried about it), Rindo and Erza, both bareleg (can't really afford aftermarket prices for the tights ones sadly); what if after the bareleg release they decide to do another release WITH fishnet and in a different colour?! I would be so sooo pissed! Anyway, let's hope this doesn't become an habit for Freeing!
Ah, I saw this figure a few times in japan this year, and tiger Taiga has entered my wishlist. Now that I compare the two side by side I can see why some people would be pissed off about FREEing releasing the figures like that. I only got into the hobby this year so I guess I missed the drama. Still gonna be getting her, because cute.
Very unpopular take, but i personally.... like the bare leg versions?? I don't get the hype over stockings besides "cool! real textile material on a clay/plastic figure!" Some for like jibril i even felt that the tights covers their tattoo and some i felt they're less sexy with tights as most of them are just black or white so it clashes with the colors to darken its overall look or brighten it....
I actually buy more Binding bunnies over Freeing ones. In regards to Taiga, while I'm not a super fan of hers, I do like the Tiger one more. The open mouth face looks better to me. Plus, the tail adds a bit of variety to the typical bunny girl fare. Also, there's less yellow bunny suits than white.
you can make your own tiger ears and tail with poly clay!! if you can remove the bunny ears, do it! And you can work the tail around the bunny fluff. And there you go, tiger add ons with the white bunny suit, and you save money!
My thoughts on FREEing bunnies (I agree w/ all your points btw): 1. skyrocketing resale values of bunnies is of no consequence to FREEing - the 45K JPY you pay for a coveted Zero Two only goes to the seller. Which adds to shadiness of the whole thing if the suits are happy that preorders are swiped up by non-fan scalpers only to resell them on eBay/YJA etc. 2. the “laziness” does not stop at being creative with what they can offer to the customer - improving detailing, sculpts (esp hair) esp when “normal” 1/4 scales are encroaching on the 30K mark these days, almost catching up to the price of BINDing bunnies where you get the extra details like the bunny suits and the hair sculpt. I am slowly shifting my aim to BINDing now after getting my Mariko bunny. My next target is one by saitom which is what you’ll be unboxing on your Patreon - she’s so difficult to get hold of!
Oh I forgot. I am a proud owner of the OG Taiga bunny. Wasn’t phased when they announced the 🐯 Taiga. No sour grapes here but I would still buy the OG even if FREEing were being transparent. I agree with you that fans were being done dirty here. 💴💴💴
someone good with 3d modeling could probably make 3d printer files for ears/tail would be a good solution but doubt anyone will. I personally ordered the tiger version but have to suffer and wait for the release although i just got Mitsuka and Reika Bunny last week so am pretty happy.
Top! Right now, you earned so many cookie points in my head. You are the first I know of that ranted about this underhand method of Freeing and then not said, but I perordered her anyway! So hats off, because all the other people who were/are offened by it and still decided to preorder her anyway are not really... um.. yeah...support Freeing in doing such shady things.
I've been fortunate enough that there hasn't been a figure I wanted with a new version released shortly after the first that I like more. But it's only a matter of time. People were talking about the Rena B-Style having a "Tragedy" version (blood splatters and dull eyes), which I honestly don't think I'd prefer, but maybe execution-wise it'll look better.
Finally had time left over to watch this. And I agree with how bunnies are so often very much the same. It is the saving grace for me since I can get that feeling of "Oh I don't need all of them".
It's SO frustrating in regards to the Taiga bunnies. Feels so gross especially considering how beloved that series is and it's older so it's not easy to get older figures. Most of us are frothing at the mouth for more Toradora stuff and FREEing knows this.
I'm really sorry to hear that. it always sucks when you're passionate about a hobby and realize that you are being taken advantage of by a company behind it.
what sucks also is for people that missed the original release for a lot of these figs we just have to suffer and settle with the barelegged versions bc they wont ever bring back the other one but theyll release those ones way later as though anyone wants them T^T like i really wanted the original gurren lagann yoko but theyve only released a bare legged version rather than the original release and it hurts my heart
Bareleg releases bother me the most now that they're as expensive or more than the original. And Zero Two bareleg has a worse sculpt and paintwork on top of not having the biggest detail that makes bunnies unique. Never bought Taiga though.
I am in complete agreement with you on the Taiga thing. I lucked out, personally, as I didn't love the bunny version enough to spring for her. I adore the tiger version and am hyped to have her on PO. That said, I felt like the entire thing was shady af and it really did not endear me to FREEing at all. Also...ugh, I love the Yoko Littner bunny and was excited to see a rerelease, but it looks so unbalanced without the tights. I feel that way about almost every bare leg release. I'm sure there's a market for them, but it ain't me. Lol your comparison to the AoT figures really hammered home how desensitized we've become to FREEing's practices.
Taiga was my first 1/4 scale bunny and I love her, but I do agree that what Freeing has done has left a sour taste. If they released both versions at the same time, or at least announced that the tiger version was in the works during the pre-order period, it would have reduced some of the backlash. Like it's super predatory how you have a limited pre-order period where, if you miss out, you'll usually have to pay more in the after market. But now, you have to worry about jumping on a pre-order too early and spending money on a version you might not like as much. I wish I could say "Just don't pre-order," but that's how a good portion of the market is built. At least for me, I'm not going to pre-order any more (other than the Kaede Akamatsu that I already have) and just spend effort into the aftermarket. (Also kinda funny, as I was typing this I checked on AmiAmi for fun. They still have the black bear suit Yuna for sale about 2500 JPY less than the white suit preorder.)
i actually appreciate the moves that freeing did, it makes more people lose interest in the hobby resulting in cheaper aftermarket prices for figures, so collectors 1, scalpers 0. looking forwards to used $80 bunny figures in my detolfs in the near future.
Never re-releasing an exact replicate allows the aftermarket price to remain higher, as re-release tend to tank those. This in turn allow them and the buyers(to themselves) to justify the high price of the figure, as it's more of an investment. They don't release things at the same time because they probably aren't immediately sure if they will release the different version. If the first one sell well, they can add more edition (like re-release, but not due to the above). I would wager that Taiga is probably one of the few that are likely to be pre-planned, as it actually involves some design work. The rest are indeed very low effort, so that they can decide whether or not to add an edition on the fly easily. For the most part I like legging version better. But jibril GW bare leg is, IMO, the best edition (out of 3 or 4 now). It just feels right for her to be bare leg.
the beetleguise ones are representing two different and well known outfits worn by the character in the film. The black and white being the basic outfit, and the red one being the more formal one seen in the film. The props also play into those scenes. I will agree that they should've come up with a color that worked for both bunny and tiger version of Taiga and just sent extra ears/tail parts so you could switch them out, vs making two separate figures and hiding the one people really would've wanted from public knowledge... it does seem extremely shady.
Personally, if they had the same availability, I'd get the tights version before the bare leg pretty much every time. I think FREEing knows the tights are more popular which is why (as far as I know), they never do a bare-leg release first, then a tights bunny later, the bare-leg always feels like the consolation prize.
This is their strategy: “If they are too lazy to develop a figure/toy but want to gain more profit, they would need to use timing to their advantage by planning to make and release an inferior model first, then by the time many fans have ordered it, they release the superior next. “
I didn’t pre order the Taiga Bunny when first announced. I’m not a fan of figures wearing outfits not in keeping with their anime/manga. That said, when I saw the Taiga tiger. I thought. That’s different, although wasn’t completely sold on the pose and the fact that yes, its almost identical to the bunny. I sat on it for about 2 weeks before deciding to PO it. In a way I’m still not sure, I already have the full set of Haruhi bunnies, plus 3 others from other series, minus 3 I sold last year. I guess I wanted some Taiga in my life, i just hope I don’t regret this one. I think. If Freeing had made more of an effort in changing the pose and putting a little more work into it. Most people would be a bit happier. Although I do think the amount of 1/4 bunnies being released is getting a little out of hand, but as you say. They are a company and they have a goal of increasing profits.
As the Tiger buyer, I didn’t order the first bunny Taiga because I genuinely thought it wasn’t that great. Toradora made me start anime, but it wasn’t it. Tiger version hit real diff though and had to get it haha. I think other collectors really should order with 100% confidence that they’ll enjoy the figure as itself, regardless of set effect with other figures from the same line, existence of a “superior” version, etc. Also one reason guessing they don’t re-release bunnies with fishnets again is to make them more collectible. Just a passerby’s opinion
The frustrating thing is they DID used to rerelease tight versions, it got way worse after 2020. Yoko's b-style and Aiz Wallenstein's both were tight re-releases originally. :( I'm honestly glad I'm in the camp where I don't really like the tiger Taiga version as she doesn't fit my collection (mostly because that is way too much orange for me personally). Honestly though, I cancelled Eruru and unless FREEing give me Emilia, Hayasaka or Ryza I likely won't order another from them (I have kept Kaede though as I have Kirigiri and Chiaki and not having the set will make me sad over time). BINDing are way more inventive imo so I'd rather give them my money.
I love my taiga bunny figure I’m not too salty about the news on her new version. ! I don’t know which one I would of chose but I think taiga is so adorable the pose is perfect and she looks like a angel in white it reminds me of the dress she wears in the show haha
I also bought the Lucy bunny despite the fact that I’ve never watched Fairy Tail, LOL. I just found her bunny absolutely ADORABLE and I, too, really like Lucy’s character design. It’s just too cute. Btw, the office skit was hilarious! XD Onto the Taiga bunny controversy, as someone who didn’t purchase the Taiga bunny because I don’t like the character, watching the Taiga tiger ver controversy unfold on MFC was quite interesting. Mostly because I was shocked at how many people clearly forgot that companies are NOT our friends, lmao. The complaints became worthless when the same people who were complaining, turned around and STILL preordered the Tiger version. Either people need to vote with their wallets or just anticipate things like this happening in the future from now on. Also, the only people I’ve seen complaining about this are people in the west who are NOT the targeted audience for figures. The Japanese audience comes first so I’m really confused seeing the western audience making empty threats about how FREEing’s reputation will be ruined. I highly doubt this will put a dent in FREEing’s wallet. People are still going to continue to eat up B Style announcements in the end.
I can feel the Lucy talk. Only watched a couple episodes of Fairy Tail, but she might be the one bunny I've actually wanted to get despite not knowing anything about her. It's sad because something like Mai is the obvious choice but something about her bunny just doesn't sit right with me, not sure why.
Wow didn’t know about the Tiger version situation because I don’t collect the bunny lines. But yeah, thats messed up, and they definitely planned to make both. Hate when stuff like that happens.
I absolutely agree that what FREEing is doing is shady af. Alas, I am a clown and ordered the tiger version anyway lol. I actually like both... I just wish the tiger one at least had a mirrored pose, so those of us who were suckered into buying both could display them together and have it not look weird. But that would be too much effort for them. :'D
I totally get what you mean and yeah fundamentally Capitalism encourages companies to exclusively concern themselves with profit. Corporations may say they care about their customers but they don’t really they just want them satisfied enough to keep buying. I will say that costs wise etc it is important to point out that the yen has tanked and the cost of materials has grown exponentially because of the pandemic and subsequent supply problems so figure prices across the board will be going up no matter the company. I have the bunny version and I have the tiger version pre ordered. I like both but I probably will sell the bunny version at some point down the line. I do think freeing would go this route whether the tiger one was successful or not, binding frequently puts up bunny 1/4 without having teased much information at all albeit they wouldn’t do the same one exactly like this situation. All I can say is that if this situation has people questioning whether to PO something or wait for release, that’s not necessarily the worst thing. Preorder culture in the hobby can be kinda toxic and I don’t think more people waiting and seeing because of this situation is the worst outcome. I understand why people are upset and I understand why people are excited. I’m in the excited camp because I really love the tiger version and honestly I might end up just keeping both! Also I def agree about the video game industry similarity. It’s def not because of the ordinary folks working there, it’s executives
The thing I get angry about with B-Style figures is how bad the aftermarket gets for characters that aren't as popular or are very niche and therefore that makes their aftermarket prices astronomical and near impossible to get. The only thing you can do is spend a ridiculous amount of money or wait and hope a bare leg version will be made. I have a love-hate relationship with the bare leg bunnies, but I have fallen in love with a couple and even pre-ordered one. I just wish FREEing would release them at the cheaper price like once they hit the aftermarket instead of the retail price of the bunny figure with the tights. I pre-ordered the Rindou Kobayashi bare leg bunny because you cannot get her any cheaper than like $800 on the afternarket. I'm happy to finally have Rindou, but part of me is always gonna be upset I have to deal with the just as expensive bare leg version.
I agree, it was definitely slimey of them, even if it was a smart business practice....I really like your idea of having other optional accessories! That would be a welcomed change. Also, your business skit was hilarious.
Not to mention how the prices just go up and up. I agree 100%. I think that consumer /seller relationship is so important. Not to feel like they think of us as a source of cash. (although i understand it is part of it) It is really shitty what they do with this "surprise" releases so close one to the other. I missed the bunny version so i was happy when they announce the tiger one. And I personally liked it more so for me it worked in a way. But I recognize that is really unfair for those that wanted both or prefer the tiger yet got the bunny. Specially if you are like me 9I'm guessing most of us are XD) and you need to be really careful with your choices coz you work in a budget! All i have to say is I'm sorry for those that felt cheated. It really sucks! And for sure it makes you dislike the company so much. Now that some other options are starting to come up I am sure most ppl will chose to move away from FREEing if they keep doing this kind of shady tactics :Y Anyway, I want to end on a happy note. I love the idea of getting into sculpting and getting your own stuff done. I am the same. I want to get my own models done and paint or fix things my way. love your content! and thank you for the work you put on your videos! Cheers from Vancouver!
Yea they’re that big in the manga haha, lots of fan service in Hiro Mashima’s manga. I just really hope they make a bunny figure of Homura from his new manga Edens Zero. She wears a few bunny outfits in the manga & they’re beautiful outfits that will look amazing as a figure. So please please Freeing, Good Smile Company or Kotobukiya make that figure. Kotobukiya has just made a figure of 2 other characters from it that I’ve bought, I should get them in the next week.
Hopefully that will stop with freeing and bunnies but.... Shibuya Scramble has two versions of Gojo figure (one color, one monochrome) Radio EVA too (monochrome and color) but, at least they release the two versions at the same time
Shouldn't have even needed to change the color. Would've been perfect if Taiga bunny came with the replaceable ears/tail like you suggested but they were that of a white tiger.
When the white bunny suit was out for PO, felt that it was missing something so I didn't order it. When the tiger ver was announced, I was conflicted cause yellow seemed a bit odd. But the colour contrast with black and the tiger ears and tail won me over, so POed it. Despite this version's success, I feel Freeing's tactics are definitely making them lose customers in the long run. Especially concerning is the price of the newly announced New Jersey B-Style....
The amount of bare-leg releases now is eclipsing actual new figures from them, bare leg Chika just dropped. I think the amount of money they save on keeping the same mold and same license is a lot more than people realize.

Also the money they save on those plain plastic bases. I love Koto and Myethos, even their hundred dollar figures get a nice and creative base.
@@Panda_Roll Don't forget Mimeyoi!
Bare legs figures are so less sexier though
@@okeoke4697 I highly disagree. The tights are way nicer, which makes the figure more appealing, but bare leg is intended to be the sexier version because of how much skin is unobstructed.
@@Lampboi-jp6dtfinally, I found my people who think bare leg is better
Freeing basically traded their reputation for profits and I’m curious to see if that’ll have ripple effects in the future
Considering what they make this comment works on multiple levels lol!
I have that one as well as Taiga, same feeling from the same asshole move😑
I think it's just a good reminder to treat companies as companies. They're not friends as much as they try and build that relationship for the exact reason you've given in the video. They prey on the FOMO of collectors.
The minute I saw taiga in the thumbnail I just wanted to give her a hug. FREEing did the fanbase dirty on that one.
I'm glad we're all predicting the Yor bunny, it's inevitable at this point. If they do, I will finally purchase my first bunny and officially become a degenerate :D
Lets spam GSC for Loid 1/4 👁️👁️
I officially became a degenerate when I preordered the albedo bunny figure from freeing.
I became one yesterday with the arrived of my first ever bunny figure which in this case is Lucy as well. XD
i might buy a lucifer and asmodeus bunny fig with my local seller on Christmas if it's still available, so I'll be a full degenerate very soon too
OMG I want a yor forger bunny 😅❤
FREEing's 'rerelease' habits made me amazed when their Miku Bunny went up for preorder again with tights and with all the same features. I'm happy for everyone who can get her now without selling their kidneys. She's the only bunny I'll ever own and she's gorgeous.
I'm considering buying her, but I wouldn't know where to put such a tall figure 💔
@@homoeroticyearning Yeah she's huge so she sits on a mantle in my house. I'd recommend Ikea Milsbo cabinets because my 1/4 Gilgamesh fits in it perfectly, but those cabinets got more expensive since the last time I bought one two years ago O.o
@@mrsagreen6429 alright, I'll keep that in mind lol
Yea, I have her ordered on AmiAmi. Waiting for invoice rn
I think the only reason they kept the tights on is because it’s an actual module in the game, so they can’t just change it
every time a figure youtuber addresses a controversy within the community (such as this one with the re-releases) they really should title the video "breaking my silence/addressing the controversy" cuz that shit is so fucking funny 😭💀
I'm almost glad that I don't collect bunnies and don't need to deal with this...But then I realize freeing doesn't only make bunnies 🙃
Still glad that the fortitude Levi is made by kotobukia and got a proper rerelease
Same here! im mainly a only male figure collector so its not like most of freeing's stuff applies to me but dang thats such a dirty move on their part i feel so bad for people that buys them ^^;
If FuRyu ever expands their Bicute line, they might be sitting on a goldmine. ;) but ye Freeing is really out there baiting us sadly ;-;
So yah I’m assuming FREEing see this as a win even tho the tactic is a shady…
Either way, both figures in this video are super cute for sure 🥰 but that stock images skit tho is a winner hahaha
As someone who have felt burned by bad preordering things (not just figure), i avoid it or make sure the place you buy from accept return.
I'm with you, they did us dirty. Not going to boycott, don't feel like it will matter. Thanks for the enjoyable video as always!
This whole video was such a mood. I keep preordering figures and telling myself I will finish the anime or manga before they arrive.
Eh???”
Clay sculpting is a ton of fun, and relatively cheap to get the supplies, good luck with your modifications!
"Shes cute and Im weak" Story of my life
Reminds me of when I started watching Fairy Tail to justify the Erza Scarlet bunny figure I bought. You aren't alone 😄
I love Lucy’s designs too, she’s so cute!
The FREEing bit killed me 😂 that was amazing 👌
The Lucy bunny looks so good!! Bought a Popup Parade figure of her and bunny Lucy is *tempting*!! 😍😍
i’d love to see an updated bunny tour because i think it’s so cool to see them next to each other!!
Complaining, but you guys will still buy those FREEing like crazy
The Hatsune Miku B-style is getting a re-release... so there is hope to get other B-styles with the fishnets
im kinda happy i held off on ordering bunny taiga. i ended up ordering the tiger version in place and imo shes way cuter and makes her stand out from other bstyle bunnies
The Lucy bunny is so adorable ❤️ I’m not even into the bunnies, but seeing Lucy (and Chiyo) I’ve been so tempted to drop everything for them 😂
Also 23:45 no cause this is very real and valid. After missing out on Shinji/Erwin nendos and seeing the price rise (and also the gen lack of figs for them), I’ve gotten so salty I bought the nendo doll customs to make them myself 😭
It’d be a really fun project though for Taiga, I mean you don’t really have much to loose at this point 😂
Loved the meme skit! I really agree with everything you said and all 3 points. I’m in the camp that prefers the bunny but I appreciate the tiger. Still I like the white suit more than the yellow. So a white tiger is optimal!
Best skit I've ever seen in an figure unboxing video!
I really hope things don't continue like this in the future... any ill-will could literally just be solved by selling both versions at the same time. insanity
i thought you were joking with the skit part, til you showed the picture of her blue suit 💀💀
It's not official.... yet :P
if FREEing really wanted money, they would make 1/4 male bunny figures but i guess that makes to much sense.
The ears/tails sounds like prime candidates for resin 3D printing.
I can only hope they release a bunny suit Marin Kitagawa once they bare-leg every other character lol
This is why people are scared of the Komi figure. Watch them come out with a cat ear version.
I don't get the hype over stockings besides "cool! real textile material on a clay/plastic figure!"
Some for like jibril i even felt that the tights covers their tattoo and some i felt they're less sexy with tights as most of them are just black or white so it clashes with the colors to darken its overall look or brighten it....
In my opinion some barelegs can be equal or better than some original bunnies.
someone good with 3d modeling could probably make 3d printer files for ears/tail would be a good solution but doubt anyone will.
The rant was my favorite part. Gimme more spice! 🌶🌶🌶
I’m just happy to be getting even more taiga figures! I’ll take two especially since she goes so well with my white suite bunnies
That skit is amazing LOL! Thanks for uploading great vids
Thank you
Finally had time left over to watch this.
I'm really sorry to hear that. it always sucks when you're passionate about a hobby and realize that you are being taken advantage of by a company behind it.
what sucks also is for people that missed the original release for a lot of these figs we just have to suffer and settle with the barelegged versions bc they wont ever bring back the other one but theyll release those ones way later as though anyone wants them T^T like i really wanted the original gurren lagann yoko but theyve only released a bare legged version rather than the original release and it hurts my heart
there is something called 3D printing community that could help make some extra kits for different figures so you could modified them on your own
Totally agree with you, and now I think twice before pre-order from Freeing.
Bareleg releases bother me the most now that they're as expensive or more than the original. And Zero Two bareleg has a worse sculpt and paintwork on top of not having the biggest detail that makes bunnies unique. Never bought Taiga though.
I'm not a fan of the bareleg versions at all, the fishnets are a huge part of the appeal of the b-styles for me.
Hi Haley, How do you feel about Freeing selling a non-stockings versions alongside the stockings versions? i.e. Kaguya
Personally, if they had the same availability, I'd get the tights version before the bare leg pretty much every time. I think FREEing knows the tights are more popular which is why (as far as I know), they never do a bare-leg release first, then a tights bunny later, the bare-leg always feels like the consolation prize.
Rerelease means that regular collecters can have more choices rather than scalpers hoarding all the products.
This is why I don't like to pre-order much. In my experience something better will always come out...lol...great video!
I made it all the way to the end. I think you had very well thought out complaints and made some really good points.
XD
Onto the Taiga bunny controversy, as someone who didn’t purchase the Taiga bunny because I don’t like the character, watching the Taiga tiger ver controversy unfold on MFC was quite interesting.
I really want a Lucy figure in her Taurus Star Dress. I think all the frills would be really pretty.
The "meanwhile at FREEing" segment was so funny gjfhgfjhf
Now that some other options are starting to come up I am sure most ppl will chose to move away from FREEing if they keep doing this kind of shady tactics :Y
Anyway, I want to end on a happy note. I love the idea of getting into sculpting and getting your own stuff done. I am the same. I want to get my own models done and paint or fix things my way. love your content! and thank you for the work you put on your videos! Cheers from Vancouver!
Thanks! I'd love to know what the companies themselves think of the resale market, in the long term it seems unsustainable
@@Daijoububu true that. I wonder how things will evolve in the future with the situation as it is now.
