- Anniesland station is now step-free! 🚉✨ Two new lifts have been installed, elevating access for passengers with impaired mobility, as well as those travelling with luggage, children, or bikes.
This £4m project, part of the Access for All (AfA) scheme funded by the Department for Transport, features unique street-level lifts on either side of the railway bridge, enhancing accessibility in a way that stands out from typical installations.
Kudos to our team and Story Contracting for their hard work in completing this project!
You could install more lifts at other railway stations in Scotland. Nice to see improvements at Anniesland.
Anniesland station after all these years finally has got to 2 lift So everyone can use it
Any chance bellgrove can be looked at , it has got to one of the busiest stations in the city
I mean technically they didn’t need to fit the two only one was required so the fact they spent more is always great
they said they didn't go over budget, which is good, and fitting only one would probably not cost that much less. it is not like 2 lifts costs twice as much to fit, fixed cost of the construction would be the same for just one or two
@ I’m not saying it went over budget that’s great that it didn’t there’s a first for everything 😂 but still when cash is trying to be saved and there isn’t full need for something why build it
update the lifts at motherwell
it is now step free, the old steps are still there. unless another 3 million is planned to remove them,. im joking its now disabled access compliant
