Yes, kissing is most definitely risky. There are several diseases that can be caught orally. Herpes is one of them. Be safe out there!

Kissing is not a risk if you knowing your partner you won't be paranoid and make a person to feel that they are contagious.

Herpes/hiv is very much in the teenage community. When I look back on being a teenager, I think it's in the teenager community more now from having more people openly fluid/easy access to them sexually, drug use/messing with older adults who have it and don't say anything and those being molested. I didn't realize how many people were molested until I got older and they talked about it. My cousin was raped at 5 by and 18 years grandson of the baby sitter and contracted Gonorrhea.
It's pushed more not to get pregnant than to think about the STDs. But it doesn't really even matter we have all been warned for decades about HIV/STDs and unwanted pregnancy. Yet people will do whatever they want and have to deal with those consequences.
But it's not a lot of fear of those two diseases with the youth. I think they figure they will get Chlamydia/Gonorrhea and boom take a pill it's gone. My friend contracted herpes from having sex the first time with her teenage boyfriend at 16. Have another friend that did at 19 from a 27 year old man. My friend's sister baby daddy had it and he didn't tell her/ejaculated in her to have two kids. His dad made him tell her he had that stupid girl still stayed with him a few years after that. The thing was he kept cheating on her the whole time. She allegedly didn't contract it but it's the point of being stupid and putting up mess from these men because you're afraid to be lonely or move on to the next and get your sexual partner numbers up. He got married to another lady had another baby, divorced and with another person.
Then teenagers don't know or have a place they can go to, to get tested so it's spreading their community. People better get tested first married or not, young and old. A lot of old people messing with the young adults in the streets and contracted stuff.

The main difference between STI’s and STD’s is that STI’s are curable and STD’s are not, only treatable. Also, you can catch STI/STDs in many ways, it is not only sexually. If you come in contact with blood or other bodily fluids and the person is infected, you can catch a disease.
Chlamydia is an STD that is curable if I’m not mistaken.

Not that simple. When you say people you don't know, what does that mean? There are people whom you see and talk to everyday that are infected with HIV or some other STD. You can't tell just by knowing someone. You must ask specific questions about someone's health status and get tested together BEFORE engaging in any sexual activity.
