    Bruce Lee would be proud that everyone around the world is learning to have "An open Mind" or as he called it "Be like water"

    *Amazing explanation! Thanks a lot Sifu! This is exactly what most don't teach regarding JKD online in detail. How many months or years do you think it can take a guy with only some shotokan karate experience to learn JKD well enough to manage a decent fight against a guy on the street for example?*

      Technically speaking, there are too many variables are left out in this type of discussion, but it’s just an assumption, so here is my take:
      With my teaching, just one session a week for 8~12 weeks, a never-learn-martial art person should be able to hold himself fighting normal people on street(1 on 1 of course). Now if you enhance the quantity of the sessions of a week, one should have better results or ability to do more on the street.
      Now, if “a guy on the street” has experienced on fighting or just a good fighter, that’s entirely a different situation.

      @@jkda-fong999 - Thanks, that's a fair amount of time. If someone has more free time because they work from home and they can train 2 hours for 5 days a week, do you think that's too much and should do it for less days a week to not over train?

      Well, I was a Marine when I fulfilled my civil obligation( in my country every able male need to serve in military for a period of time, if you don’t have specific skills that you need to go through military academy such as Air Force pilots, navy ship operator or missile operators, etc. then you have to draw lots to decide what personnel you gonna be in military, I got the Marine) 2 decades ago.
      As a Marine we trained 8 hours a day including PT for 5 days--however, that was just me.
      Over doing anything is never good. Just train accordingly to suit your body conditions.

    Do i have to make a side step to block a punch? To make a block like tan sau?

    • @jkda-fong999
      @jkda-fong999  3 роки тому +2

      It depends how powerful your opponent’s punch is. If you could redirect or intercept the punch successfully, you don’t have to move; if the opponent is bigger, or you are not sure how powerful he is, take a side step☺️, it’s fine.
      Stay away, but not too far away🙏🏻

      I started with my first JKD teacher in Taiwan almost two decades ago.
      About the second question, Since you took the time ask, before I answer your question, can you please tell that from my moves, which pedigree or lineage do you think I’m from? thank you🙏🏻.

    Hello friend, jkd home pracitioner here, when I'm practicing footwork my left foot starting to have a painful appearance but its natural or I'm doing a wrong proper footwork

    • @jkda-fong999
      @jkda-fong999  3 роки тому

      Hello! Thank you for replying.
      Is your left foot in front or in the back? If you can jump around with your left foot, you should be ok; but if your foot hurts just by doing the exercise, you probably need to let your doctor check up what happened with your left foot.
