This colors in this show are stunning. Its been mesmerizing through 3 eps so far. I hadn't heard of this IP until this season but apparently its based off of a manga. The manga rating doesn't look too hot but sometimes adaptations can breathe life into a project so here's hoping for the best. Its off to a solid start.
The manga is not popular outside Japan, but it won the 69th Shogakukan Manga Award in 2024. I read the manga, it is very very impressive, I think it just because they didn't put any afford on the promotion.
This's the manga serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" and shares the same fan base as One Piece and Jujutsu Kaisen. It has a unique interpretation of history and is highly regarded by history enthusiasts. (e.g., an episode where two people swap identities based on speculation that one person's portrait is actually another's, or a character thought to be original is revealed to be a historical figure with carefully built-up hints.)
Succsessor of Hojo clan never got be Shogun, It's Shikken, the title of Kamakura Shugunate of Hojo's. The Emperor title was used to be puppet for long time by Shogun. But Shogun title was puppet by Shikken of Hojo clan. Shikken like Tokiyuki's father got to be puppet by their servant. The Ambisious Emperor Godaigo was boring puppet show, and he wanted to be a real ruler. His dream effected to Takajuji awake Muromach shugunate plannig. It was the trigger of chaotic tragedy.
