@@akboy305 he is the best NBA prospect, but isn’t close to the best college player RIGHT NOW (could be by March). under 25% on the season from 3. He was -7 on the UK game. He bites on fakes & ball watches a little too much on the defensive end and tries to play hero ball too much on both ends. If Flagg can get up to 35% from 3 it would be huge. He’ll take some lumps as a young guy-some team will put a great defender on him (UK did not with Carr) and pack it in & force him to beat you with the 3 or his passing IF he can.
Coming from a uk fan I don’t like seeing other uk fans shitting on him or the team dukes gonna be nasty in march and they played hard i agree they’re gonna learn a lot from this game and grow. Uk failed in and made plays and showed their age along with pope making adjustments at half I’m hyped to see what can happen if they all figure out each others play styles and preferences in game. Both teams are nasty and come match teams will not wanna play either.
Duke was struggling shooting the 3 early, so tell me why Darren Harris nor Isaiah Evans didn't get to play 1 second? UK's bench outscored Duke 25-6, UK played 10 players to Dukes 8. What's the point if having a deep talented team if you're not gonna play some of them? The last 2 seasons has been the same thing, highly ranked players who can't even get on the floor for Duke. Having cramping issues seems like even more of a reason to play more players. How about some full court pressure now and then coach? I love Duke and coach Sheyer but I absolutely question some of the things he's been doing over these 1st seasons. It's gotta be a team not the Cooper & Kin show, they shot 39 shots between the 2 of them compared to the entire rest of team shooting just 32 shots. Kon 5-20 & 1-8 from 3, Flagg 9-19 & 1-5 from 3. In my opinion it's just way to much about Cooper and Kon right now, it's a lot easier to guard 2 players than 5. Great learning experience for the youngsters, now let's turn it up a level. Let's Go Duke 🏀
this guy to my right 17 years old....my other other guy out because of cramping. excuses....excuses......excuses...... next man up.....17 percent from the three.....cry for me
Duke had two 5 star freshmen that can shoot not even see the floor. That’s gonna echo through the recruiting world. Kentucky bench destroyed dukes bench.
Duke’s not had much national success with these one and dones…tv ratings up but long runs in the NCAA tournaments have been few. This guy is a good player but he won’t be in Durham next year. Duke from 1980 to 2012 (BEFORE Coach K courted the one and dones), the Blue Devils went to 11 final fours…about 33% of the time. Btw, 1980-1983ish Duke was still a nobody nationally. Duke from 2013-2024 (with ONE AND DONES headlining each season) have been to only 2 final fours…about 18%.
Some were cramps. They knew cramps were an issue so that part is not an anomaly it’s who they are. You have to have a bench, especially when it comes to tourney time & playing several games in short order. Their bench wasn’t close to as good as UK’s. If they can stay healthy, get better conditioning & past the cramping issues, and gain some much-needed experience they will be a hell of a team by the end of the year. Pretty darned good right now.
He is not a good coach yet, and cooper is not good enough atm to lead a team, his handles are mid, so why was the last 2 minutes of him isolation, instead of playing team ball which would be the strongest part of this team, the veterans should be as big as kon and coop, should of kept roach, and jon don't know how to play call or motivate, and coop isn't a dominant player, so why let him take on the game by himself at 17? U wanna lose, the team chemistry is probably bad
I agree...he gave him free range way too fast. It's like he wanted Cooper to win the game for us. And we have Evans and Harrison that couldn't get off the bench to play one minute.
Relax 😂😂😂 it’s the fuckin 3rd game of the season. Duke will be just fine however these freshmen will have to learn on the job! cooper didn’t deliver in the last minute however he was pretty dominant the first 39
@qj5299 something that is said time after time in hoops, if the shots aren't falling don't force it, and find other ways to impact the game, kon took 20 shots! Wtf, we went 4 for 23 at threes, you have Gillis and Harris who are great 3 point shooters too get them in the game and run playes for them to be open, and procter also, coop is not as physically dominant as paulo banchero or zion williamson to go get a easy 2 bucket, he is a below average 3 point shooters I don't trust him jacking up threes like jared mcain did last year, don't get me wrong coop is a all around good player but not a great player or a first option. This team is so deep that with good coaching and teamsyle gameplan it should be a final 4 time, but it's not going to be if you let a 17 year old jack up 20 shots a night, while not letting the veterans like sion who should be starting set a good example
@Nathan-w8y he was not that dominant, he was good, its hard not to worry, when this should of been a easy dub, coach k. Won like 80 or 90 precent of the last time 10 games against Kentucky, and has the best record in the champions classis the only toss up was against Kansas, and over the past 3 seasons jon teams has not played at a high level nor handled competition and hasn't been tough, most of Jon's wins has been against a easy team, while all of his losses as been against real teams, he has one good quality win over Houston but their best player got hurt 5 minutes in after dominating duke, so for duke to lose to 19th ranked Kentucky who has a brand new team that's never played with each other and a brand new coach. With the schedule duke has, it's going to be a long season, he already got out coached by Mark pope 40-26 in the second half, what about bill self and Kansas, Arizona, bruce pearl and auburn, id says it's time to worry, especially since the game plan is to give the ball to coop or kon with no second option
Guaranteeing you Maluach will have cramping issues throughout the season. And he only played 23 minutes. Good luck with that excuse! He’s a force but not if he’s on the bench.
John Shire totally lost that game for Duke, but I’m going to a spread with about 10 minutes left and trying to let Kipple and flag run the show taking out the rest of the team which is not good for their morale and destroying any chance of Duke winning you should’ve played the team game you were playing in the first halfthe coaches fault
This game will only improve Duke for later on in the season
Cooper Flagg finna be UNSTOPPABLE now watch

How Cooper Flagg responds to this big failure will determine whether or not I still have confidence in him or not.
Just watch…his mental make up might be his greatest attribute as a player.

damn. are you writing a book?
Get Darrin in the game...need young blood
this guy to my right 17 years old....my other other guy out because of cramping. excuses....excuses......excuses...... next man up.....17 percent from the three.....cry for me
Duke had two 5 star freshmen that can shoot not even see the floor. That’s gonna echo through the recruiting world. Kentucky bench destroyed dukes bench.
why do they look like father and son though lol. Duke is a great team. but go big blue!!!
Acc is a weak conference this year. ESPN will have plenty opportunities to hype up flagge
just your friendly reminder that Kentucky won😁

What are you talking about? Duke last 3 years elite 8 final 4 sweet 16
Hmm Duke players yell "they can't play with us" during halftime 🤔 Funny how this game has two halves. GO BIG BLUE!!!
Two dudes for duke did go out with injury for a bit
@JohnDoe-ld2lw Injuries happen in contact sports. Duke is a very talented team. I'm not blind. That has nothing to do with disrespect.

@JohnDoe-ld2lw which literally means they couldn't play,lol
Dukes big guy was out wth Cramps, that's when Kentucky made up the 9 point deficit
God I hate Duke

Kentucky got LUCKY...Dukes big guy went out wth Cramps

😂😂😂😂😂
You cannot have watched that game last night and honestly say Kentucky got lucky
hahahahahahaha. next man up brother. also duke shot 17 percent from the three.
How about the number 1 recruit and projected #1 draft pick turned the ball over TWICE in final minutes.
He is still crying just like when he played for Duke.
Kensucky cry's all the time like bitches
