I saw the video and had to go do your bucket hat! Passionknit Kelsie! Love her and your bucket hat!
Great minds think alike. I have always made items to bring in a variety of ages. However, my items didn’t sell very well on Etsy. I have heard that we should specialize in a niche. So I decided to go with plushies. So I went to 3 markets this spring, I placed plushies on one table and other items for the older crowd on the other table. I have earrings, dishcloths, bucket hats, towel holders, and scrubbies. My items only sell when I decrease the price a lot. I would like to get paid for the time I put into them. I use CrochetbyBays spreadsheet for pricing and love it. It keeps my price more accurate, but I think I will have a clearance basket next market to clear out some old stock. I love crocheting, but one only has so much room to store these beautiful crochet items. I love your vlogs.❤
I hear that about storage! That's why I decided to start doing markets.
I started markets to decrease the projects in my house also. My problem is finding markets near me.
Scrunchies, cup holders, water bottle bags, keychains, coasters are a few I can think of besides what you have here in this video.
Girl, I"ve lost my plushie crojo also.and have been crocheting cross body bags, scrunchies, bucket hats. I'm loving it.
Oh I just remembered something. I saw designer t-shirts at a local boutique in nyc - it was an ordinary T-shirt, but instead of the regular pocket at the top right, it had a granny square sewed on at 3 sides. So it's a crocheted square pocket if that makes sense. It was retailing for like $60, and I thought I could so easily make that!
Yes I’ve seen granny squares added to so many different things just as a decoration
Love the hat on you :) I crochet other things too...coffee / tea coasters, small doilies (all sorts of crochet thread weights...in white, it makes great hanging snowflakes), small pouches for cell phone / keys / travel pouch / tooth fairy pouch, etc...
I love watching passionknit Kelsey and Crystal from bago day crochet… and Kelsey will always tag someone if she uses their patterns
I crochet scrunchies or bag holders . Washcloths. When i just want something quick and easy to crochet
I love your unicorn 🦄. I like to make hair scrunchies for a quick and easy make.😊
i enjoy watching your channel. love all the scarves you made and the bucket hatt
Keychain wristlets and lanyards are fun
I actually saw her video and subscribed to your channel to make your bucket hat. And I love the way you teach and enjoy your channel so much.
I enjoy making water bottle holders/bags when I’m over plushy stuff and they sell well for me here in Australia
In hot weather you would think everyone would want one just to stay hands free!
I crochet small shopping bags (diameter 20cm x 25 cm high) you can bring to the beach, for a walk with the dog and so on. The buttom is a beautiful round flower.
I love to watch Kelsie. I'm setting at hospital waiting on my uncle to get out of heart surgery crocheting this bandana. I have sold over 14 (lost count) at my last 3 shows.
She is interesting to watch, it amazes me how fast her hands move. Hope all goes well with your Uncle!
Coasters! Sunflower coasters are a crowd favorite for me
I have a good sunflower coaster pattern. My yarn colors aren't great unless I use acrylic. Do you use cotton or acrylic on yours?
@@KnottingHookCrochet I go for cotton personally. I never tried to do them in acrylic.
@@melonzy8 I think cotton! The acrylic is pretty but not absorbent.
Kelsie did a collaboration with Snapple a few months ago and designed a really cute water bottle holder. The pattern includes adorable little trinkets to crochet and attach. I think these would be perfect for markets.😊 I believe the pattern is free on her channel/Instagram.
I also came to you via Passioknit Kelsie 😂
I design plus sized tops or make granny squares to make tops. I dont do bags they just don't sell for me. Loved kelsey doing your hat I think it's her new favourite. I even ordered more lily sugar and cream to make bucket hats. For quick easy sellable items kitchen scrubbies.
I’m in the same rut. Not in a plushie mood. I found some old square from a granny blanket I never finished and am turning them into different things bags, wall hanger with storage, pillows, yarn bowl etc. Hope you find something that fits the bill. And Lordy I feel u on the heat….im melting🥴😂❤️
I’m finding what I feel like making I don’t have the right yarn for. Go figure!!! 😂
I feel ya! I like making dish clothes coasters and amigurumi out of cotton or acrylic. I have a shawl WIP ATM. The unicorn is gorgeous
I always try to have at least two WIPS going at the same time. If I'm working on a plushie and need a break, I'll pick up the other thing. I usually make shawls that are fairly easy when I need something mindless to do. I sew, as well, so I might do that for a bit. :) Glad to have found your channel!
I tried out your hat pattern it’s a great pattern. I have made 18 hats so far and there will be more to come. It was so easy to follow and they fit perfectly. Thank you for the pattern and for the tutorial
Robin you hit the nail on the head. I also am so over plushies right now😂....BUT you did inspire me to crochet some Cacti and succulents. Love the plants now. Started a hanging vine hope it turns out ok. Thanks for your great channel.❤
The cactus were fun, Different, is why! Thats what I think I need a little variety.😂
Hi, yes I follow Kelsey and I loved that bucket hat. So I looked for your tutorial because she mentioned your video and I made myself one.❤😍
Oh, I love your bandanas, so pretty, especially the variegated ones!!!💕 Passioknit Kelsie makes some cool market bags and cross-body bags too! When I want to mindlessly crochet I make dishcloths, hand towels that have the little strap to hang on a drawer handle, oven door etc., scrubbies (if in the mood to tolerate scratchy yarn), coaster sets, potholders, hot mats, scrunchies, headbands, or granny squares for a later project.
All great suggestions! I saw her belly pouch/cross body bag and it looks interesting I would definitely like to try that one!
Wow I've been making the bucket hats too from passion knit kelsie love it Debbie in baltimore
You made so many pretty things, Robin! I’ve been making plushies for a couple years and my plushie cro-jo has run out for the time being. I just started making bucket hats when I saw Kelsie’s short video and found your tutorial… so enjoyable to work on! I’m almost done with my first hat using your pattern. Thanks for inspiring me! You’re livin’ my life with the cleaning… can’t stand to do it in general anymore, but especially when hubby is lurking around. 🤣🩵🧶🩵
I cracked up when I saw your shirt, Insane Asylum. I thought, I need to get me one of those!🤣
Been there & done that with the plushie burn out! I like to make book/kindle sleeves, I have 2 patterns for those and I like to make bucket hats, bandanas, coasters(especially fun designs) & recently I've been making bows to go on clips, so fun & quick to make!
👋 I’m a new sub from Kelsie’s channel!! Just finished a bucket hat for my daughter! Such a cute pattern!!
the scrubbies for face washing is what I'm going to do next to add to market stock but I'm loving the bucket hat and that scarf I really want to try
My go to projects to give myself an amigurumi break lately are water bottle holders and sunglasses pouches! I’ve done a couple granny square bags too, those are a nice way to relax and be mindlessly productive!
I like to do potholders, and scrubbies when I need a break from following patterns. I also love to make baby blankets, but I’m not sure they would be great as a seller. I have the same resin kit and I do my eyes using it, I loved your jewelry projects, they turned out so pretty!
I have sewing burnout. That’s why I’m having fun with crochet. It’s great to learn something new.
I saw that Stitch Sister Co has a cute pattern for granny ornaments. It has a hat, mitten and stocking. Thats something different than a plushy.
🤣😂🤣💕💕💕Toby's tail showing up just cracked me up. I know how that is, they show up just when you least expect it...I have 3 cats and they always have me laughing 🤣😂
You are an artist who creates, which usually means you enjoy creating many things. I go back and forth so I don’t get burnt out on creating one thing.
I am going to try the resin for the same reason, i like my eyes to match the plushie.
I sew, crochet, make home decor pieces, flower arrangements and wreaths for all occasions, i make and refurbish or upcycle furniture and I paint furniture and other items. I use clay moulds as embellishments or just ornaments as well as transfers to give certain pieces an extra wow factor. I also make keychains and stuffie stix with beads and pendants. It is my new hobby. Lol
I haven’t broke out my cricut yet, still new but we are remodeling and I know if I get started with the cricut all I will want to do is play with it. Lol
I get bored or burnt out on one thing and move to something else and I am always adding to my creative arsenal. Lol
I think we all get it. I love the earrings and the bandanas. I have several bandanas I bought from a friend and I love them, yours are beautiful and I believe they will do very well at market.
Have a blessed day!
Thank you!! I enjoy a variety of crafts too, just don't have the space for everything.
I have been doing hats and cup cozies
I’ve decided to incorporate the dish towel holders this year for fall markets. I’m ordering towels ahead and making the holder to match them. They work up so quickly. Loving your unicorn 🦄 ❤. Hope you get your crojo back soon 😊 Happy Crocheting 🧶
@@KnottingHookCrochet thanks! My favorite one is from Utube “Maiden Pie Town” she uses a clear plastic ring but I use a 70mm wooden ring. 😊
Still making plushies right now, but when I need a break, I think I am going to try crocheting some baskets.
I watched Passioknit's video and i was so happy for u! Amazing it brought you so many comments/views ;D
Also, what ive done before is make tiny little stars. I think when Im feeling burnt out its important to do a quick project, which the stars definitely are
If you make enough stars u could definitely make them into a wall decoration
I think your bucket hat pattern is the best one out there. I have made many of them. I loved it when Kelsie chose it. I make her bandanas also. Yours look fantastic. That looks like the market bags I make and sell, if it is it's 32 rows lol. Bottle holders sell well at the moment.
Thank you! It was 32 rows it just might be the same one. I've tried a few different patterns on the bags and so far I like this one the best. Do you have a bottle holder pattern suggestion?
@KnottingHookCrochet I make my own designs. I usually do a basic sc circle to fit the bottom of bottle, sc back loop next round. 2 rows sc. Hdc, ch 2, and continue in a mesh spiral until long enough. 1 row sc, 1 row 2sc ch 2 skip 2, 2 rows sc. I make a handle about 160 ch, then sc, 4 rows. I make a cord for the holes and add some beads on the cord. You can let your imagination run wild.
This is the 1st day in 2 weeks I have to house to myself and its just my hubs and I here. Even so, I need a day so I totally get what you are saying. Never feel like you need to comment or whatever If I comment on your video. No one needs that pressure. I just enjoy your videos and that's enough for me! I am totally making a bucket hat and some bandanas. 😊 I don't have plushie crojo to begin with so I can't offer any advice but I enjoy seeing yours tho! I gotta say I cannot imagine doing crochet as a job and I admire ya'll that do.
@@KnottingHookCrochet and yet here you are. 😆 Your stuff is really good!
I couldn’t help but laugh when you said “but there are people here” 😂 I am the same way! My husband and have been married 32 years, and we have no children. I love it when he does his thing and I have the house to myself! It’s the best time to get stuff done! To answer your question I crochet kitchen towels. I actually started with kitchen towels and went to plushies because I was bored. And I have limited success with them. I like plushies make more money. I’ve also made a few bags, my favorite is by Pretty Peaceful. It’s a free tutorial on UA-cam made with plush yarn. It’s so soft and fast to make! Thank you for your videos!
I'll check out Pretty Peaceful. It's so nice when I have the house to myself! 😂
Toby’s tail made me laugh, as if he were saying “blah blah blah”. Snarky kitty😂. The resin kit looks pretty nice! The earrings are beautiful. Nail art bits worked out so cute in the resin. I really like your bucket hat and head scarves. It’s a good idea to include adult type things to your markets. I have no idea what will sell, my brainwaves quite often fell flat😂.
He is snarky! The resign kit is pretty cool if I can get good at it I made add that to my market inventory.
I am also feeling like I need a break from plushies.. I have a ripple blanket back on my hook as well as doing a blanket pattern test for a friend.. also made a wash cloth and think I’ll do a baby cardigan. I’m loving the change up 🥰
It is so nice to do something different. I like the plushies but...
I got a couple requests from family this week that are some more good, quick non plushy makes! Someone requested a handle cover for their cast iron skillet, my sisters requested popsicle holders, and a friend requested a wristlet for her keys!
I think your unicorn with the Just Chenille is adorable! Great size for sales. I’ll have to make one with that yarn. How about cup or can cozies? Especially for the summer. I have to make plushies, I bought too much yarn not to. 😂 Maybe it’s the summer, switching to fall items will be fun! 🦋💖
Oh I have to make plushies too, but I think I need to switch up every now and then. With no markets scheduled I have a good start on the plushies, I think I want a mix of things,
I made up a pattern for a cactus dish scrubby that sits in a terracotta pot. I can send you directions and a pic if you like. They sell pretty well for me.
I have gone to granny bags, granny buckets and 4 ply amigurumi. Just having fun. Granny squares are big right now and I'm down for that. Back to the 70s and my old crochet patterns to try to update them for 2000's.
I enjoy granny square anything! Except sewing them together 😂 not my favorite part.
I can totally see bandanas, bucket hats, earrings and market bags being sold at the market. That little unicorn is sweet also. Little baskets might be another idea.
I like your market bag. I am trying one too. With all your plushies, you would sell out in nor cal for sure. They are all so cute! You should up your market choices and go where the crowds are for all the work you have put in. Your booth set up is the best! Go where the booth fee is $100+ and the crowds are. Try it once. 🙏 for you
If I can find them and they aren't already booked with crochet. They aren't that easy to find.
@@KnottingHookCrochet you may have to drive to a larger city? I hope you can do 1 good market equaling 5 little time consuming ones.
That unicorn is adorable!! I'd love to try chenille yarn, but I don't know if I'm good enough yet (aren't the stitches hard to see?) I hope you get your "cro-jo" back for stuffies. I love seeing how happy you are when they turn out well!😊
It just takes a little practice. Start with lighter colors to see better and use your fingers to feel for the stitches.
Cotton car coaster❤ easy and fast make. People can use them also in the house for their drinks❤
I did 2 dragons and 1 unicorn this week and that is it. Gonna be a a quick video this Sunday lol I may work on zippered pouches this weekend.
Yes but the dragons are huge! Pouches would be a good change of pace. Don't you have a market this weekend?
@@KnottingHookCrochet Nope not gonna sign up it's gonna be too cold and chance of rain lol
@@cottontailcrafts1719 Cold!!! its so hot here! I'm a little jealous!!!!!
Have you seen the otter pops holders? They are a quick make with acrylic. You can make them simple or with a theme.
Omg ... I've also crochet market bags. Beach bags... 100% cotton is my friend. Bag holders and and drink bottle holders, i can't stand the cold. Hot coffee holders are inexpensive. Starbucks cups need it. Many other cups do too. Small is what i croched. Sold them for 3$.
I know this is not a crochet suggestion, but sometimes I just like winding yarn into a ball. You could try a plastic grocery bag holder. Looks like you have great suggestions. Good luck!
As a resin artist/resin dice maker please always wear PPE when using resin in a well ventilated space if you’re going to use it consistently!
I make little mitts and booties for baby gifts, but I'm not sure if they use that stuff in FL weather. You could make headbands for little girls, there are tons of pretty designs on youtube that don't require weaving of ends! A very trendy thing now are those granny square fanny packs, I finished one for myself just yesterday and already got a ton of compliments. I want to make some clutch bags too and maybe a beach bag if I get the chance.
Also, I make little yamakas / kippahs for baby boys - it's a jewish thing. If I really can't think of anything, I knit beanies on my sentro and donate to the soldiers when I need a pickmeup. Or make something for yourself that you've always wanted, and I guarantee you'll get your crojo back. :)
You could crochet scrunches, headbands, coasters or earrings.
Hope your plushies crojo comes back soon.
Maybe a suggestion would be crochet Christmas ornaments .
I work on my macrame bracelets. You'd be surprised playing with knots will inspire different pattern inspo and isn't as bad on your wrist. Also folks love the cheaper options
I haven't done macrame in years, I would have to learn all over again 😂
The little cactus in a pot and plants in general are fast and fun. They do not need a pattern to follow every time and if there is a pattern they are usually pretty quick to remember
Ok I have a few ideas…lol
Your chicken coasters are amazing!
Also i see a lot of crochet chokers with pendants, the 80’s are back! Lol
Headbands with beads that hang off the side. Also very popular, my daughter asked me to make her some and she is in Cali.
Also bracelets with a pendant.
Have you seen those crochet wraps that you wear on your foot?
They go around the second toe, wrap around the ankle and then wrap around the leg. I wish i could remember the name. You can add charms and your pendants to them.
I would make the foot sandals and charms separate so they can choose.
You are so dang talented the sky is the limit!
I really like the chicken coasters. But I think they should be made out of cotton. I'm not sure how well they would be received in the acrylics. I have not seen the wraps.
i completely noticed she did your bucket hat on her youtube channel :))
I love it!! Could you please share video of you making the jewelry? I love to do that!!
Scented sachets, market bags, toilet roll holder,
Sorry you got the burnout! Ugh! I think that is one of the reasons I haven't decided to do markets yet. I'm afraid if it becomes "work" , it won't be fun anymore. Hope the crojo comes back soon. 🤗💖
I started to do the markets because I don't have room to keep everything 😂 I just need a little change of pace, keep things interesting!
Fast easy non plushie items I make are: Wash/Dishcloths, eyeglass cases, trinket holders, wooden ring towel holders, coasters, potholders, scrubbies, headbands, scrunchies, cellphone holder stands.
bowl cozies
I tried making your bucket hat but i accidentally use the wrong weight warn however I didn’t wanna frog it, so I kept going, I made a bag instead!!! It was still a win win!!! Thank you for the awesome tutorial!!! Now I wanna make more!!!
I spend hours researching things to crochet. Frankly, plush yarn is a struggle with the shedding and lack of stitch definition. #4 yarn and even thread are my "relief" mediums. Love doing home decor, bags, baby things and baskets of all sizes. I don't enjoy doing multiples, even the fast and easy ones, so I have not done any markets.(But may have to reconsider as I've got a lot of finished, one and two item projects.) Good Luck. The struggle is real Love your channel
@@KnottingHookCrochet I’m feeling it for sure.🥴. I love to crochet so very much! 🥰
I understand getting burned out from making only plushies. Some alternative crochet items could be lipstick or hand sanitizer holders, earbud case holders, spa sets including makeup remover discs, soap saver drawstring pouches, washcloths, and loofahs. Good luck with getting your crochet mojo back. 👍
How about car cup coasters, I love them and easy. I understand what you mean when people are home
I'm actually going through the same thing right now. Feel like I can't make a decision on what I want to make. So, for me, instead of crocheting I've been organizing and doing some knitting here and there. I keep looking at my pile of crochet that needs to be finished and I'm like, nah tomorrow, etc.
Its not what you asked for but i have a “forever” blanket that i work on. The hook is dedicated to only it and it’s a simple granny stitch. It can be picked up anytime any where and just mindlessly crochet 🧶 I’ve had it going for so long it is huge. HUGE. Everyone loves it. I just keep adding and adding. One day i will deem it done but until then we just pick it up when bored with other projects.
Thats a good project for the winter time, I used to do that a lot just to keep warm.
Those bandanas are cute! I don't do hats either but I like them on other people.
Weather is what makes me put my yarn down. And I can't buy a lot of yarn if I am already overflowing, so I need to pick up my hooks and sticks soon. Still haven't put the fins on the cute axolotl and that was months ago when i finished the body! 🙄😳
Was it that long ago? Those bandanas were very satisfying to make!
@@KnottingHookCrochet Time flies when you have markets all the time 😂. I was making a second snake and my 9 stitches turned into 7. I blame the color change that was on the lady bug video. Going to just close it and give it to a friend's cat to abuse.
I've only been crocheting about 7 months so I haven't quite hit that lack of crojo yet. Though a lot of days I'm too busy to crochet at all so that might be part of it. I think I'd switch to granny squares though, and just make things out of granny squares like little bags and maybe sweaters (but maybe not until fall it's a bit hot for sweaters right now)
I like to make mini monsters I call them Pocket monsters and when I get bored they're quick they're easy and they are so cute when they're done
hey do you have a link or something? I'm so curious haha that sounds fun
I'm home
I lost my plushie crojo in the middle of an axolotl 😂 I just need to finish the body 😫 I like working on washcloths and scrunchies....super easy and quick. For now, I've moved on to sewing...making curtains for a little girl's bedroom ❤ I also have a quilt that needs finished 😳
I wondered if Kelsies video made yours blow up 😂😂. I went and checked your comments it was crazy! 🤣
Yes, that's how I found out. She mentioned it again today in her orange video.
@@KnottingHookCrochet saw her thumbnail... And noticed it was your hat. I have it on my list to make too! I watch all her videos too just while I work/crochet as well. So when she said your handle, I was like, hey!! I know her 😂🤣😂
Granddaughter says her age likes bucket hats... shes 19.❤
Jenna is 19 as well, bucket hats are very popular for some reason.
You look cute in a hat! Also, where did you get that market bag pattern. It looks interesting.
I think it's the best one I've done so far. It's not super quick but it's nice. Here is the link to the video ua-cam.com/video/GcuFJcBl36g/v-deo.html
I would love if you would show how to make the dishcloth
I can do that! I just do a basic stitch keeping it quick and easy.
I’ve never sold any of my crochet items, but I am with you in losing my plushy cro-Jo. What about making throw pillows? There’s a ton of different patterns out there and they wouldn’t take very long.
Curious if you have had anyone ask for doll clothes like barbie or american girl? I usually do the dishcloth, mugrugs, coasters and sometimes towel toppers.
I haven't had any ask about doll clothes, but that could be an interesting idea.
@@KnottingHookCrochet yeah I'm still in the debate stage on it but I think I might be adding them
Book markers?
I thought it was cool seeing Kelsie crochet one of your videos. I love both of y'alls videos.
I was very cool!!
Same it was like worlds colliding haha
