Colt Anaconda vs. Desert Eagle 50AE

- This is a side by side comparison of a Comt Anaconda 44 mag revolver and a Desert Eagle 50ae semi-automatic pistol. I compare the cartridges and discuss some of the differences in performance
After the introduction of the .44 magnum by Smith & Wesson with Ruger right behind, other smaller manufacturers soon followed suit. Colt missed this golden opportunity by waiting too long (35 yrs.) before introducing their version of a .44 magnum in 1990. By then, new shooters were looking past the big, powerful revolver and were now looking at the high capacity 9mm pistols "as seen on T.V.!" Several years after the release of the Anaconda, I bought a used one at a show to complete my Colt revolver lineup. My first impressions of the gun was that it was an exceptionally large and heavy "horse pistol". When I did a complete disassembly of the revolver, I found that many of the internal parts appeared to be MIM/investment castings like the Ruger handguns. After owning it for a couple of years and rarely shooting it, I put it up for sale and doubled what I had paid for it and never looked back. Just my own thoughts.
@Caje-zf8md if you ever get interested in another one take a look at my video comparing one of the old ones to the new ones. It is unreal the quality difference. Thank you for sharing
@@TerryBenton I just watched your other video on the "old vs. new" and if I were in the market for a .44 magnum, I'd consider the "New" Colt. Now, if Czech-Colt could only do something about that awful rear sight. Thanks for your informative videos.
Not gonna lie both of these are literal boat anchors
Fortunately I have no problem with that
however give one of these to anyone who’s only carried light weight polymer frame guns most of their life….. oh boy just watch their reaction
I remember handing off my Ruger Super BlackHawk to one of my friends and they were shocked how heavy it was
@@ADRay1999 you are right but they are cool
Terry when I’m your age I wanna be as big of a bada$$ as you lol and I mean that in the most respectful way 🫡🫡 one cool dude
@Jus10worsT well thank you I guess? Lol
@ exactly why, right there! 🤣
A really good video and comparison, but I will take my 2021 Anaconda all day long!!

@@wilfridBAUCHET thank you
The Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan is extremely beefy too; able to handle anything that the Colt Anaconda can... And there's a couple of others as well. The .44 Mag is the best though, imo; it has the greatest ammo availability.
Ammo availability is huge. Wry good point. Thank you
I wonder if you have a spectre M4 in your collection, I heard they come both in very high capacity 9mm and 45 acp. I am wondering why people dont make those 50 round quad stack magazines. They are much better than drums.
I do not have a spectrum. I have a 60 rd. AR mag. It is not very reliable. The 60 rd drum is reliable. Thank you for watching
I choose the anaconda, reliable and powerful.
@@Someguy0525 and not to mention cool. Thank you for watching
