He forgot to mentioned the reason why Akuma was put in Tekken 7. Is because of SF X Tekken, namco decided to make Tekken X SF but one of them flopped so they cancelled the project. The way the explain Azazel is he was always gonna come out. It’s just not known when. It could’ve been a year or it could’ve been as Jin feared and been long after he and Kazuya were dead. Also, it’s kinda implied that Heihachi’s wife knew Kazuya was always gonna be evil since she told Akuma to kill both of them. Not “Kill Heihachi before he can harm Kazuya” Not even “Kill Heihachi, Kazuya, and Jin” just “Kill Heihachi and Kazuya”
@@infernobat8325 the way Kazumi worded her request to Akuma made it sound like she knew what was going to happen in the future, so maybe she saw far enough to rationalize that Jin either wouldn’t be a negative factor or if shit got too far, he’d be the one to end it all
I was not expecting ClementJ642's video to be here. He was one of the OG gaming channels I've watched when I was younger, being known primarily for his Sonic and Mega Man content, specifically Sonic as he has played every Sonic game(Before he stopped LPs) on his channel.
Also if you watch the character trailers for the new Tekken 8, the story once again will get more crazy. With the return of one specific character that will once again gets entangled with the Father-Son feud. And who's better than the mother herself. Which brings me back to why this video never mentioned Asuka's non canon ending in Tekken 5 but actually had huge potential in the canon plot. She somehow shown her ability to cleanse away the devil gene, unconsciously (which brings back Jin from its Devil Jin form). Which might be an innate ability of the Kazama clan aside from sensing spirits and sht.
I was waiting for him to mention the ridiculous connections Lars had. Lars appeared on Naruto and his Rage Art on Tekken 8 was his Ultimate Jutsu from the Naruto Ninja Heroes Storm game (forgot which of the storm games), and that he's the one who called Noctis from FF15 to appear on Tekken 7.
Another game series and a guest character who had nothing to do with the story of the Mishima's. So the probability of mentioning them wasn't there. Sorry. And to be fair, I don't think Clement plays Naruto games a lot, so he probably wouldn't know that cameo. Especially since Lars looks in that game aren't very identical to his Tekken ones. Final Fantasy I'm not too sure on, but I'm gonna assume he's one of those retro guys who at least heard of and/or played Final Fantasy 7.
Heihachi didn't raise Kazuya; he went to live with Jinpachi Mishima until he was like 10 or 11 then Jinpachi was imprisoned underneath Honmaru. After his grandfather didn't return, Kazuya survived on the on his own on the streets and the wilderness as a nomad getting stronger for the day he finally faces Heihachi.
@@DarkShadow-hy6iq I figured that out but want to know how u raise a son that says that there r going to kill u some day. As 4 killing Heihachi killing Jinpachi before Kazumi. If u go back play T5 it explains 50 years prior to T5 Heihachi overthrow him. Making Heihachi 25 years old and Kazuya just Being born then Jinpachi tried to take it back 10 years later making Kazuya 10 years. Which means Heihachi is 30 or 31 when he kills Kazumi and throws Kazuya of a ravine. Jinpachi said these things himself n T5. I prefer to believe official content over a fogetfull dev who can make mistakes and had be corrected by the fansom nany times.
This vid was so informative. =) The guy sure made a great documentary of the series; for us who had no idea there was actually a continuous story in this game, who thought the animal characters were there just for fun etc, this really brought us up to date. Tekken 2 was among my first, and best, PsOne games, and believed it to be just another lore-less fighting game. Knowledge is indeed power. ^^
Akuma being a part of the actual story is still one of the craziest things to me. I don’t even know what that means tbh. Does it mean that the SF and Tekken universe is connected or Akuma just went to a different universe? Lol
I wouldn’t be surprised it Akuma got sucked into a wormhole into the Tekken universe. When it comes to crossover representatives, him and Ryu are pretty much the poster boys. So these boys have been to all kinds of universes.
You guys are putting more effort in your reactions. Actually committing to watching a 1 hour+ video (although ywah you watch each segment separately) but Im impressed. Have you ever tried doing reactions to shows and series?
This guy did a really good job at talking about the Tekken Lore and not only of the Mishima Clan, I've tried to found one like this but of MK but there is not really a good one, the MK lore videos are mostly bad because they take things from the rebooted timeline line it happened in the first timeline, and also ignore important aspects of the latest games of the first timeline.
Good news then. During Clement's Street Fighter lore video, he said in his intro he's gonna be doing MK next and possibly release it somewhere in September.
Wow didn’t expect this but very happy to be able to enjoy a long reaction about one of my favourite game series! The story is defs wacky, crazy and maybe a little nonsensical but it’s fun and interesting lol Hope you eventually react to some of the tekken 8 trailers at some point! Maybe with more context some of the character trailers will be extra enjoyable I find Kazuya really interesting and I like Lee, Law and Alisa but my absolute favourite character is Lars. In saying that, as heroic and good-natured he is currently, I wouldn’t be too surprised if he ends up also doing a 180 and becoming a villain at some point tho lol. Especially considering how lots of his moves in game are more brutal and villain-fitting than his family member’s. Like he has a couple moves where he breaks the opponents neck and chokes them lol
Kazuya has been at some point the first antagonist character to be the lead of a fighting game brand, even though he doesn’t appear in Tekken 3. And, I’ve said it before, the brand itself defined “dark family drama”…
Ya'll should check out the Insane Lore of Street Fighter, it's much longer than this but it gives a good insight into Street Fighter so you can understand characters much better.
I still can’t believe Jin started World War III in Tekken 6 meaning that he ended becoming worse than both Kazuya and Heihachi in terms of body count, Jin has the highest body counts that he caused.
If you're ok with doing videos this long there's a channel called Thorgi's Arcade that has a series of Fighting Game Retrospectives that go in depth on both the characters and story as well as the behind the scenes stuff with the developers. He's currently working on uploading his Street Fighter Retrospective but he's done a lot of other games already.
tekken will always be a bit of a special series to me. after all, it was seeing christie in action back in tekken 4 that made me actually start practicing capoeira on my own and lead a healthier life. not sure where i'd be today if it wasn't for her.
That comment about Heihachi loving a god damn bear more than his own son is too damn true, especially in African families. The way our fathers treat us is as if we murdered their mother or something. It's that Dictator energy that says "showing my son hatred will show them how much I love them". Like WHAT??!! No showing them hate will prove why the world is better without you
I've been watching him over 12 years now. Back when he just did Sonic and Mega Man LP's. It's kind of crazy to see how popular he's gotten in the last year or so.
As I expected. Enjoyed how much you were paying attention to all the details and laughed at all the weird stuff. And all the discussions in between each part was engrossing to listen to. Tekken is such an enjoyable franchise for me and many others. And the lore of everything has kept me hooked on the characters. Even though Jin is at this point, an irredeemable person, I still love his design, fighting style, and I just want him to beat his dad. Now just to let you know, from Tekken 6-7, Clement wasn’t kidding when he said he had to cut out of lot of stuff for brevity. That includes all the new characters he didn’t introduce because they had no relevance to the Mishima story. So if you ever have plans to look at Tekken 6 or 7 endings, then I suggest looking up a photo the characters as well as a quick synopsis from the wiki to get a general idea of what they’re about. Or I can just DM you on Discord what they’re about so you have a quick list. And I’m so happy that Clement has been booming ever since this video. He posted right after Tekken 8 reveal trailer came out, so he was incredibly lucky to have so many people watch his video. And not too long ago, he posted another “Insane” lore video about Street Fighter(excluding Street Fighter 6 cuz it just came out during that time, so the video itself is a primer for those that want to know the lore before 6), and he plans on releasing another one about Mortal Kombat on September. I would definitely recommend those if you really enjoyed this one. I will be now be doing weekly suggestions of something else, but it’s a lot more manageable than a +1 hour video. But I will start doing that next week. Really enjoyed watching your guys’ journey through Tekken. ❤️🔥
Yayyy. I was really waiting for you guys to react to this. Love your reactions. EDIT: One thing that I realized about Heihachi's story, is that it is kind of a self fulfilling prophecy. Maybe Heihachi was not going to be bad in all cases. Maybe Kazumi betraying and trying to kill him and then him having to kill her, left him broken (it can be seen in the cutscenes that he was left devastated after he killed Kazumi). Maybe that started it all. And it went on like a chain reaction. Oh and between the Williams sisters, even though both of them are terrible, Anna was always the better one morally somehow.
Yea ngl the Hachijos screwed the whole Mishima family over since they only said that Heihachi was gonna bring pain and suffering to the world in the future, either not counting on the fact that they would indirectly be the ones to cause the chain of the events, or they in fact DID know and the whole time they basically manipulated everything.
In Tekken 5 Roger Jr performs the moves and his mother mimics it, that's why technically who is acting and deciding the direction of the fight is Roger Jr not his mother.
Man, i love tekken lore. So absurd. Would you guys consider reacting to Pathologic is genius and heres why by hbomberguy? A great deep dive on a game that is miserable to play but great to experience.
you guys got it all wrong. kazumi married heihachi in first place to kill him and his clan. that’s where it all started. while he thought they were really in love
Would totally recommend the guy's "Insane Lore of Street Fighter" as well. Unlike Tekken, SF's lore isn't as straightforward so a video like it really helps.
I have a few favorite characters with Steve Fox and Bryan Fury being my all time favorites, but I personally think Paul Phoenix's Tekken 4 ending is maybe one of the best arcade endings in the entire franchise.

⚠KING, in the 1st TEKKEN, used a Jaguar Mask who would transform him into a Jaguar-Man! This is related to an south american jungle myth of a old jaguar mask who would possess who wears it, giving him strength and senses beyond the human capabilities - but also the behaviour of a jaguar like, killing other animals (including people) to feed himself.❗ I remember this from an old Documentary about it, that i saw on TV when i was a little kid. And in TEKKEN 1, once King puts on the Jaguar Mask, he's transformed into a upright-full-tailed Jaguar-Man.😉
As a Lili main, it pains me to see Lili's story arc devolve into nothing but her obsession with fighting Asuka. There was a point where she was actively working against the Mishimas and was more than ready throw hands with them at the drop of a hat. Now her storyline is just "Hm, how can I get Asuka to fight me today?" Don't get me wrong, I love their rivalry/frenemy relationship but that shouldn't be the only aspect to her OR Asuka's stories.
Therefore the story suggests the real hero of the entire franchise is not even a legitimate son nor introduced for more than half of the whole franchise.
I'm gonna elaborate a little more on Tekken 6's Azazel and Nancy, on WHY they're so BAD. They both are fighters that whose matches are HEAVILY stacked against you. Worse yet, you will see them in every arcade ladder for each character. Bear with me here, this might take bit: Nancy- It's got 10x the health of a normal fighter. It also has a move where it cuts a hole in the floor, which if you fall into you automatically lose. Worse still, because it's so big, it's hard to tell what the robot is doing. Plus, you can't grab or grapple it due to its size. But on top of that, you have a time a limit. Now normally in a fighting game, if time runs out, the fighter with the most health wins. But with Nancy, you still lose, even if you have more health. Oh, and despite being a "Bonus Stage" (meaning that winning or losing the fight doesn't actually stop your progress), losing to Nancy goes on your record as a loss. Azazel- Hits hard and hits fast. He has attacks and moves for all ranges. He can grab you but is immune to grabs. He also has moves that are completely unblockable. He has no real pattern and can do anything at anytime. But the worst part of it all, Azazel can block and attack at the SAME TIME. Azazel is immune to attacks except for a small period of time when he goes to attacks. Thing is...there's not way for you to know when that time is. There's no indicator or sign telling you when it's safe to attack him. The only way I ever found to hit him was to rapidly spam combos that are so naturally fast that you can do to multiple times in quick succession. These two broke the rules of the game as no else as any of these features.
He failed to give the reason Akuma waited so long to come for Heihachi; it was that Akuma's code prevents him from taking on Opponents who r too weak so he waited until Heihachi was strong enough.
That feeling when Heihachi has apparently at the least 9 confirmed kids. out of ALL of them. (Kazuya, Lee, Lars, the new kid Reina, his grandhcild Jin) the FUCKING Bear was the only one he loved.

It's more people complaining about Tekken 7 trying the frame Heihachi in a more sympathetic light and insisting that the story retconed Kazuya into being the more evil one (it didn't) and tried to frame Heihachi as a good guy (which it also didn't).
Not as bad as the producers forcing Harada to make Jin a good guy
I mean, they retcnned Heihachi into a good guy
@@Mitsu2040 They didn't. They humanized him and gave him a reason for being as bad as he was. That's not the same as making him a good guy. Even being forced to kill Kazumi was framed as being a bad man turned worse, rather than a good man turned bad.
@@TeamTowers1Having to kill his wife came AFTER he killed his father and chained him up under a dungeon holding a huge boulder until he starved to death. Heihachi is NOT a good person and the whole devil-gene has nothing to do with it.
He did a insane lore of mortal kombat. Yall would enjoy reacting to it. Especially when he talks about deadly alliance , deception, and armageddon. Its worth a look
1:35:25 yes, just like the greeks, you fight naked as a sign of valor, no armor, no tricks, just skill and your own might.
Ah, I was hoping this would get a reaction since a little bit after the source video was posted! This was great, and I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I recommend finding the Tekken anime movie, because it gives you a lot of the dynamic of the characters, the backstory of the Mishima family, and a perfect example of how Tekken would go if it was a series.
Y’all are probably my favourite reactors ever! I already watched this lore video on my own and here I am rewatching it with y’all 💀
Oh my goodness, someone ACTUALLY reacted to this! And its YOU TWO! I'm so glad you were willing to watch and learn about Tekken
I absolutely loved ur guys reaction to Tekken 6 intro as to what Jin did
He forgot to mentioned the reason why Akuma was put in Tekken 7. Is because of SF X Tekken, namco decided to make Tekken X SF but one of them flopped so they cancelled the project.
They decided to put Akuma in Tekken 7 is because he’s popular, and wanted to demonstrate what his gameplay mechanic looks in the world of Tekken.
Tekken is a wild ride in itself. It's so cool you two reacting to Clement's Tekken retrospective (in which, fun fact is his most viewed video to date). If you ever react his Insane Lore of Street Fighter video, be forewarned it's an hour longer than his Tekken video. Big bowl of popcorn mandatory, extra drinks optional.
BONUS:
My favorite Tekken characters are Kazuya, Paul, Yoshimitsu and Jun.
Thorgi's arcade King of Fighters Retrospective series would be a lot of fun as well, he goes into the creation of the games, characters, gameplay and story, recommended
Finally a video game family I can relate to 🙂
Heihachi being an fuck up but also a badass character is the reason I and so many others love him as a character and a fighter
Tekken is up there with Guilty Gear for craziest storyline. "The Entire Guilty Gear Story in 14 Minutes" is a good follow up to this one lol. Unless you wanted something more more detailed in which case WoolieVs has guilty gear lore videos that covers EVERYTHING, which is a lot.
You, my friend, are NOT ready for Blazblue lore.
@@sharzinlalebazri5673 they are at least coherent still
I'm glad The Insane Lore of Tekken's getting more deserved attention. Mainly if you look up Tekken lore videos, it only covers the main Mishima story and it doesn't include the other side stories that can be just as interesting
LETTSS GOOOO! I WAS WAITING on y’all to do this! I requested it a while ago tho I never thought you’d get to it. So excited for you both to learn the stories of one of my favorite and childhood gaming franchises
Hope you enjoyed it! 😀
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGamesit’s one of my holy grail reactions. Also, Fighting Game Retrospectives by Thorgi’s Arcade and Honest Gaming History by The Black Mastadonte are great videos that explain more and history in a great way
"Power Is Everything... Overwhelming And Absolute" Mishima Family Motto
Knowing what i do know about kangaroos makes me realize that kazuya had the right idea. They like fighting are super strong and can kill a human in 5 mins or less with they talons on their feet
Phenomenal video and what alot of lore I didn't know about. And are they sure heihachi, isn't a god or something, damn he survives alot of stuff. And as always ken and Bethany stay truly amazing
He's always done experiments to extend his life. Surely he is doped up on something.
I’m convinced that Ken just has a whole wardrobe of the same shirt in different colors. No judgement, just kinda funny
This is an amazing video, and most fighting games have crazy lore, especially the "King of fighter" serie and Guilty gear, they have such an insane legacy that the game went to insane places !
Not “Kill Heihachi before he can harm Kazuya” Not even “Kill Heihachi, Kazuya, and Jin” just “Kill Heihachi and Kazuya”
jin wasnt born at that time
@@infernobat8325 the way Kazumi worded her request to Akuma made it sound like she knew what was going to happen in the future, so maybe she saw far enough to rationalize that Jin either wouldn’t be a negative factor or if shit got too far, he’d be the one to end it all
Rewatching this after playing Tekken 8 story.
Everything gets wrapped up in a messy, devil gene bow
Can’t wait to see you guys do the street fighter lore.
Nope actually
Heihachi did raise Kazuya
It's said that Heihachi killed Jinpachi before Kazumi tried killing Heihachi
@@DarkShadow-hy6iq I figured that out but want to know how u raise a son that says that there r going to kill u some day. As 4 killing Heihachi killing Jinpachi before Kazumi. I notice the devs say things contradictory forgetting that they already published official content contradictory to what they later said.
@@jacobwright1136 interesting
This vid was so informative. =) The guy sure made a great documentary of the series; for us who had no idea there was actually a continuous story in this game, who thought the animal characters were there just for fun etc, this really brought us up to date. Tekken 2 was among my first, and best, PsOne games, and believed it to be just another lore-less fighting game. Knowledge is indeed power. ^^
Agreed. Informative video and also showcases the true insanity of the lore haha 😁
1:08:20 Also remember this King was an orphan, and killing Marduk would make the latter's son an orphan (well he'd still have his mom but you know)
Akuma being a part of the actual story is still one of the craziest things to me.
@@blackdarkness6798 Same Akuma, but not the one from the Street Fighter universe
Mokujin's story in Tekken 5 is perhaps the best one. It's simple and straight to the point, no wacky shenanigans.
"Mokujin" and "no wacky shenanigans" don't belong in the same sentence.
Y’all are probably my favourite reactors ever! I already watched this lore video on my own and her I am rewatching it with y’all 💀
Man, now I'm really curious about what 8 will have for this insane world....
@@AlexThat200 That's really good news, I hope he doesn't make the same mistakes as the current videos that are out there.
Glad to see you guys reacting to this, Tekken and clement are both great
Wow didn’t expect this but very happy to be able to enjoy a long reaction about one of my favourite game series! The story is defs wacky, crazy and maybe a little nonsensical but it’s fun and interesting lol
Hope you eventually react to some of the tekken 8 trailers at some point! Maybe with more context some of the character trailers will be extra enjoyable
I find Kazuya really interesting and I like Lee, Law and Alisa but my absolute favourite character is Lars.
Seems like in Tekken just when you think someone might be a "hero" they turn into a villain 😈
I like the bad guys, Kazuya has been my favorite fighting game character since 1995 lol
Guy runs a tight channel. He actually finished a Street Fighter lore video a few weeks ago.
"What a f up family."
*me thinking about the Afton family*
tekken will always be a bit of a special series to me. after all, it was seeing christie in action back in tekken 4 that made me actually start practicing capoeira on my own and lead a healthier life. not sure where i'd be today if it wasn't for her.
27:01 Really love your thoughts on these haha. To me it's educational.
That comment about Heihachi loving a god damn bear more than his own son is too damn true, especially in African families.
The way our fathers treat us is as if we murdered their mother or something.
It's that Dictator energy that says "showing my son hatred will show them how much I love them". Like WHAT??!! No showing them hate will prove why the world is better without you
I'm just so happy Clement is having people react to his videos. Like yeah it was unexpected but deserved in my eyes.
I've been watching him over 12 years now. Back when he just did Sonic and Mega Man LP's. It's kind of crazy to see how popular he's gotten in the last year or so.
@@Webbman76 Me too bro. Been watching him for years.
Same
Next one on the list for me is having people react to Thorgi's Arcade and his Build the Roster series. Those are ALWAYS fun.
@@THENAMEISQUICKMAN That's also a good idea
6:16 The best best facial expression on any character in any game. If I'm wrong, show me who else there is.
YEEEESSSSS! I am so happy you got to this! Will add more to this, after watching the whole thing. But I know I’m gonna enjoy this 😁❤️🔥
As I expected.
That's what happens when you try to change fate, You generally bring about the fate you were trying to avoid 😜
@@sonomni Exactly what I think
You will know it is Tekken when a character got thrown down at the mountain or volcano 👍
"...guys don't feel dirty after watching naked chicks, so I don't know why I should after seeing a 'package'..."
...yeah fair go off queen
In Tekken 5 Roger Jr performs the moves and his mother mimics it, that's why technically who is acting and deciding the direction of the fight is Roger Jr not his mother.
Man that was awesome i love Tekken, knowing all this still i watched it. Thank you guys for reaction.
1:53:52 is so cool as you both scratch ur face in synchronization!
The only reason why G corporation recovered Kazuya's body was to use his devil gene to develope a cure for male baldness.
I've been watching Clement since late Middle School so seeing you both watch a video from him is crazy.
My first time seeing this got me as well. I grew up playing and watching Tekken related games and anime. I love this game.
Man, i love tekken lore. So absurd.
Would you guys consider reacting to Pathologic is genius and heres why by hbomberguy?
A great deep dive on a game that is miserable to play but great to experience.
I recommend more of Clement's videos but I also recommend Thorgi's Arcade, He makes some of the best fighting game related content I've ever seen.
Another vote for Thorgi's Arcade content
you guys got it all wrong. kazumi married heihachi in first place to kill him and his clan. that’s where it all started. while he thought they were really in love
Glad you're reacting to this. ❤
The Great Clement !! I say Aloha !!! He's the best ! Also love you both reacting to this !!
I've been waiting for this reaction for over a year now! 😆
This is why in terms of story Tk4 is the greatest Tk game of all time imo
@@leonelgarcia2651 I wouldn't disagree. One of my favorite moments is Tekken 4 Kazuya vs Jin in the Mishima Dojo. The music, the Atmosphere,Jin's Black and White Gi. So dope
I always thought what would happen if Steve meets Anna.
When I play Tekken with friends (which doesn't happen often as I was the only one that grew up with Tekken) and I get Eddie (or one of his clones) I just put down the controller. Never played as Eddie, and never will.
⚠KING, in the 1st TEKKEN, used a Jaguar Mask who would transform him into a Jaguar-Man! This is related to an south american jungle myth of a old jaguar mask who would possess who wears it, giving him strength and senses beyond the human capabilities - but also the behaviour of a jaguar like, killing other animals (including people) to feed himself.❗
I remember this from an old Documentary about it, that i saw on TV when i was a little kid.
And in TEKKEN 1, once King puts on the Jaguar Mask, he's transformed into a upright-full-tailed Jaguar-Man.😉
15:50 lol
As a Lili main, it pains me to see Lili's story arc devolve into nothing but her obsession with fighting Asuka. There was a point where she was actively working against the Mishimas and was more than ready throw hands with them at the drop of a hat. Now her storyline is just "Hm, how can I get Asuka to fight me today?" Don't get me wrong, I love their rivalry/frenemy relationship but that shouldn't be the only aspect to her OR Asuka's stories.
Well at least the shippers got some fuel to burn.
Therefore the story suggests the real hero of the entire franchise is not even a legitimate son nor introduced for more than half of the whole franchise.
Love this video. CANT WAIT FOR TEKKEN 8
Cant find ur Baldur's Gate 3 sinematics and trailer reaction, how can it not exist still? :D
U definitely will not regret watching them
React to the Street Fighters Lores from this guy please
I'm gonna elaborate a little more on Tekken 6's Azazel and Nancy, on WHY they're so BAD. They both are fighters that whose matches are HEAVILY stacked against you. Worse yet, you will see them in every arcade ladder for each character. Bear with me here, this might take bit:
Nancy- It's got 10x the health of a normal fighter.
This girl has eyes like a little kitty,I just look at them🤩😅You are both great!💙❤️
