The thing is, given the age of those puppies and where they were found, I'd say it's a fair guess that their mother was someone's dog. How could you have a dog and then throw her puppies out as if they were garbage?
The only way it makes any sense - a horrible sense - is if the mother dog had been in a puppy mill and the owner decided that those puppies were unsellable and therefore not worth raising.
And yes, I would definitely support the idea of animal cruelty charges against whoever was responsible for putting those puppies in the woods.

It’s just incomprehensible how someone could leave such defenceless innocent creatures in the woods to die 🤬💔😢. There are places they could’ve taken them so they would be safe. Dread to think what happened to Otters poor mum being separated from her puppies straight after giving birth and possibly a worse fate for her as well 😢. So glad someone found the little cuties ❤️🐶. Great work by Sara hand rearing Otter and Tom is very lucky to have such a gorgeous dog in his life now and he’ll get the life he deserves 🐶❤️

Beautiful story. But... and I don't wish to be attacked. It is getting harder and harder to afford to care for our pets. So many rescue centres are shutting their doors because they are full. My gorgeous old girl had to be put down a few years ago after a stroke. That cost, what I save on her life long medication now goes on two old moggies, one just recovered from diabetes. I could never part with them but each month I have to pay the vet and worry about any further medical issues. We don't have a blue cross vet so I can't get help with bills, although my vet does knock a bit off. Please spare a thought to those struggling and trying to do the right thing by their beloved fur family. I'd get another rescue dog tomorrow if I could afford the vet bills and food.

I am so glad the were found. I just have an issue with the veterinarian who would not help a person with cost. I have a friend who’s beautiful dog had a paw injury and the owner could only afford the less costly option as in putting a splint on the front leg for approx 6 weeks and paid to get bandages off and rebandage again which came with a cost and he was told that the end of that period they will put a support to keep it from damaging more but the dog was picked up after sedation to do an xray. The only and with my help we worked so hard to keep dog off her leg only allowing to go potty. I am so heart broken that the vet did not do as the support part he picked her up after and none of the doctors came out to see us it was a student staff came and handed us. Well needless to say it was worst than what it was before because of scar tissues. This cost over $2,000.00 Canadian dollars. How is this fair to this poor little dog… she’s a mix up f puddly and American Eskimo breed. She’s so cute. The problem is the owner is 87 years and he had her as a baby and he love her very much. Nw he can’t afford to get the surgery to put a pin in to stabilize the paw…. He can’t afford it and is thinking of putting her down… I am so darn frustrated that the vet failed to follow through as agreed that after the splint which was on for about 6 weeks could be a 7 weeks but they did not see him when he picked her up after the procedure was done in sedation to do the xray. Which they told us that in order to get a good view they will have to do a stress like pulling in her leg to take the xray. Now this one or 86 year old man to cover the high cost of the surgery to feese the bones together with plate and bone material to hold it. Over $23,000. It’s so unfair that this cost so darn much. I believe practiced that has been in business for a long long time can cut back on the charged for after all their equipment has a more or less paid off for no? It’s so cost, I feel they take advantage of owners, while so many dogs people have to either put down or give up because of this unbelievable cost for vet bills. Just not fair. He did not get insurance for in Canada any note in the pups file they will not cover such as if she limp because she stepped on a pebble so no coverage for her legs in future problems and she had in her file tarter and would not cover dental so what’s that point especially when the premium for insurance is so high… and would not cover any thing at all if it was casually mentioned in their files l. How is this fair. Hurt and heartbroken for this man who now has to contemplate putting her down
