I have been looking for this pattern for such a long time. Thank you for this video, you present the instructions in such a clear and easy to follow format. Great job.
Hello from the Netherlands :-) thank you so much for both your tutorials, just started with crochet during my maternity leave and this was my first project and it turned out sooooooo Nice, the colour is orange/red, so proud.....can't wait to try to make other things, Thank you again :-)
You rock! this dress is too cute i was sad to see the pattern is no longer available but happy you had this tutorial waiting for us, i've just written it all down. Thank you - very clear and easy for me as a beginner.
tryin to eat my cereal and keep up with you!!! i'm with ya, i'm with ya!!!!! lol. a baby sun hat would be very nice to go with this dress ~ in the same stitch, of course. i guess the colors i'm using has inspired me ~~~~ guess i'm on my on with this, huh? too funny!!!! enjoying the tut, Marcelle!!! thanks for sharrrrring, smile!!
Your work is beautiful. Very good tutorial!!!! If I may let me suggest that your video shows your finish product first. You will get many more views that way. I usually go by the picture I see of the video and yours shows your hands and not the beautiful dress one can create with the help of your very good tutorial. Thanks!!!
Oh bummer that you need 10ply .. I have some in a beautiful mint green but it would use it all up. So I'll have to add this yarn to my yarn buy up list .. That grows and GROWS!! Lol. Thanks for doing a tut on this pattern, I have made some cardigans but never a dress. The possibilities are endless with this pattern. Ie:colour choices and embellishments. I love patterns like these, you can theme them to your liking or someone else liking if you're giving it away :)
I love the yarn but I can't find that yarn here we don't have such beautiful yarn. i am from romania i hope i can get yarn that is closer to what you are using. hugs & kiss take care and thanks 4 the tutorial
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I had such a hard time with this written pattern for some reason. So the visual really helped me :) I think I can do it now....
love this!! But I am very new to crocheting so I am finding it so hard to follow along. I too wish you would have zoomed out and shown your whole work every now and again. Okay going to take it all out and try this again. I will do this dress.. I think I can, I think I can I think I can...
Thank you for the video. One suggestion, especially on row 4, would have been to tell us that this is the row where we make the armhole. I jumped ahead, thinking it was all going to repeat and had to pull the whole row out and start again. Also, maybe back the camera up a little bit so we can see more of what the row looks like rather than just the current stitches you are doing. It would give a little more perspective.
Ok .. Lol sorry for messing up your comments but I only had to watch the first few minutes of your vid and I understand the shell instructions now :) heehee. Thank goodness for your tuts!! Again sorry for the mess ;)
You go very fast in this and it would be helpful to slow it down a little and also it was kind of difficult for me to determine where you were stitching into and where you were skipping. ( what counted as a skipped stitch, etc..) just looked kind of different from what im used to? Is there a tutorial for the watermelon patterned one? I love it and the color doesnt look exactly red. would love to see that one!
The pattern for older girls is available through the pattern owner on Ravelry.com. That said, this pattern was designed for babies sizes NB-3M (Newborn - 3 months). Also, the chain length will depend on the 12 year old girl's size, Hook size, and how tight/loose you crochet. Also know that bigger dresses may be more lacy than this pattern. Either way, gauge is 5 rounds equals 4" inches and beginning chain is a multiple of 3+2. Hope this helps :-)
So appreciate the video have been really struggling to follow the pattern as it is really busy and I’m an accomplished crocheter and teach it, may I suggest you slow down a bit for new people 😀
hi there, quick question, I have a giant ball of pink sport weight yarn and would like to make this fit a 9 lb baby (my babies are never born much smaller than that), how could I adapt it to fit?
Where is there a picture of this dress. I am new to crocheting, plus your videos. I think I can follow you, but it would've been nice if there was a picture of the dress before starting the video. Will look for it..Hope to crochet with you soon.
Hey there ovw! I'm dying to make this dress but in the written instructions it's explained a shell and says ( DC, ch1-3time,DC) what does this mean?? As I'm writing this I'm realizing I should just watch your video! Haha. But it would be good to know what that description means for future reference please? Thank you ever so much.
Help!! I can follow this pattern up to the part that you stop and comes back. I can not do the other rows without you doing them :( I have tried and I keep getting confused. Please do the missing rows so my dress can come out right. Thanks in advance
Wow, I've watched you start the second row over and over again and it keeps skipping or something, because one second you're at one stitch and then you're on the other side of the shell... not sure what's going on, but I won't be able to make the dress like this, because it's confusing.
I was asked on Craftsy today about this pattern from Sarah that I have made and posted there. I went looking for her pattern & noticed that all of her sites with patterns have been shut down for some reason. I found you by looking up 'little white dress'. Thank you for posting these tutorials so others can still make this adorable little dress. Mine: www.craftsy.com/project/view/watermelon-baby-dress-/45599
I love this video. To the point. Quick and neat. No twenty minute intro and lengthy explanations. Perfect.
