World Wrestling Council Puerto Rico is still going strong even after their 45th Anniversary Show Weekend this past Summer including with their New Era going on despite harsh critics and through the test of time, has always been the launching pad for wrestling's top stars from around the world from WWE Hall of Famers,to even top stars of today on both the Puerto Rican wrestling scene even with those who were in WWC over the years are now in rival promotions locally in PR and also have been reaching newer heights be it in Canada, Mexico, Japan, Europe (Especially in both Progress Wrestling and the newly created WWE NXT United Kingdom brand.), and of course all over America (with the mention of Ring of Honor, Impact Wrestling,Lucha Underground, even Evolve Wrestling.) it also inspired ECW (the real original ECW.not the candy ass WWE brand that sucked.) in that episode not only WWE Hall of Fame 2014 member and co-founder of WWC Puerto Rico,Carlos Colon was there, but also had these great wrestling legends who are no longer with us, Dino Bravo (Adolpho Bresacchi) who two years later in 1993 was murdered in his hometown of Montreal,Quebec,Canada , "Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch after his final run in WWC Puerto Rico in 1993 went back Stateside to appear in his final wrestling match in the WWE Royal Rumble 1995 then in 1996 passes away of a heart attack in his hometown in Texas, Chief Wahoo McDaniels died in 2000, and NWA legend from the old NWA Mid-Atlantic and NWA Championship Wrestling from Georgia days, close friend of Carlos Colon, Sweet Brown Sugar came back to WWC Puerto Rico in 1996 to become WWC Television Champion for a while then losing the belt to now semi retired wrestler Ricky Santana only to pass away years later. these legends who have been gone inspired today's top stars such as "The New Day" member Xavier Woods, Kevin Steen(Kevin Owens), Angel Fashion and Mike Mendoza (who earned gold in WWC Puerto Rico first before anywhere else) and of course current WWE United Kingdom Champion and former Progress Wrestling UK Champion :"The Birmingham Bruiserweight" Pete Dunne along with many more. now going on their 46 years of history through good and through truly difficult times. World Wrestling Council Puerto Rico is the birthplace of what Hardcore Wrestling is all about.
