Welcome! This is the largest Children's Museum in the whole world! My sister lives a couple of blocks away from here. This is 1 of my favorite places ever & have been visiting since I was born (1988). I was watching your Omega Mart vlog a moment ago. That place reminded me of The Children's Museum. I'm so happy you visited it. Everyone must go here. It's maaaagical! The Indianapolis Museum of Art is also incredibly lovely. I wouldn't recommend recording there though. It's more of a traditional, quiet walk around & take in the work kind of place. 💙
Benjamin Harrison didn't really do anything memorable as President. He's most notable as the president sandwiched between Grover Cleveland's two non consecutive terms. He did admit more states (6) to the union during his one term than any other President in history though. Ellis Island was also designated as an official entry point for new immigrants during his term
Valpo is 30 minutes from me stop by and say hello my friend just got out of hospital and surgery from a severe oil burn to hand your videos kept me smiling thank you
YES!!!!! 😃 You're in my state now! This is my favorite museum of all time!!! I live in Auburn north up of Fort Wayne. And I love coming and visiting the CMoI! "Children's Museum of Indianapolis" 😁
@@RallyeGuy340 Hey, yes! I do live in Auburn! (Forgot to mention that 😅) That's cool you've been to the car auctions! I've only been to a couple events there
So happy you finally made it to my hometown! Awesome museum, so many happy childhood memories and wonderful memories with my nieces and great niece at the museum. My niece's family has a family pass and yesterday was my great nephew's first trip, he is 3 months. So glad you made the time.
Laughed way harder than I expected to at the Whose ear? joke. 😂 The reason there are so many Julia lunchboxes left in pristine condition is because *no one* bought them. Now a real find would be the metal Star Wars lunchbox with the thermos. Where did I leave that thermos?! Thanks, Jacob!
The only other place you'd been to was the niles scream park which is where I volunteer. You should come back in 2023 it's their 50th anniversary! 2nd oldest haunted house in the country!
I went here on a school field trip many years ago. Towards the end, there was a tornado warning and they made us line up against the brick wall with our hands over our necks crouching down, per protocol
My home state! I grew up in Highland, but I now live in the Lafayette/Dayton area! Right across from Shannon Hoon’s gravesite and the Rock City barn!!!
My mom used to bring my sister and I down from Michigan to visit our family when we were little and we always went here. The giant water clock is what I remember the most from there along with a wall of faces near the Planetarium. It was one of my absolute favorite places to visit when I was younger and I'd love to go back sometime; it's been a couple decades.
I adored Benji, was my favorite movie growing up in the 70s. I had the record soundtrack,Charlie Rich did Benji’s theme song “I Feel Love” I also had the stuffed toy dog too😁
Yes I remember Benji, he was very popular and if I remember Benji had movies. Hey that Apollo helmet you showed was on loaned from the Kansas Cosmophere in Hutchinson Ks!!! My home town!!!! Which you NEED TO GO TO!!! ALONG with underground salt museum and the Kansas state fair in Sept!! That museum was amazing so much for kids and adults to see and do. I wish they had more museums like that when I was a kid. Safe travels keep up the great work!
This is easily my favorite museum from when I was a kid. So fuckin awesome. The egyptian exhibit is to die for. I would always stop by when visiting mu cousins
Love that place it’s the first meuseam I’ve ever been to it’s amazing just needs more taxidermy I acctully watched the dinosaurs outside of the building being built I met the man who designed it and he was really cool
Diahann Carroll starred in 'Julia', a groundbreaking & controversial series, as it was the first to feature a black woman in a non-stereotypical role (for example, not a servant). I doubt kids watched it much... but the lunchbox is museum-worthy, apparently.
From Greenfield Indiana. Came here to see what's changed at the Ole children's museum! Also, boo on you for calling the original Star Wars figure line up "Star Trek". 🤢🤢
I too spent my childhood in Indiana. And my teachers always told me the term "hoosier" came from the settlers in Indiana saying "who's here?" when they answered the door. But it sounded like the word hoosier because of their dialect. Probably a myth but I always found that funny
That moment you know you're old enough to know that an iPod is now in the museum. God damn it man. I remember I went through so many iPods in my teens 2 got water damaged and one got stolen to this day. I'm like god damn kids have it easy I just love the fact that the train section uses the lights effects. It makes me think a back to the future part 3
I know it's going to be a great video when you do a museum stop. So many great museum's located all over the US and it is one of my most favorite things to do. Where would we be without learning about the past and seeing collections of great objects of interest. A great museum and another great video Jacob !
Welcome to Indiana, Jacob! Hope you enjoyed your time in Indianapolis. Me and my family are actually going to the Indianapolis Children's Museum in March.
Congratulations , if I can give you a price of advice. Pack your own food and drinks . Prices are very high and they allow you to bring in coolers. Enjoy
Facts tho. I went in second grade and we literally stopped at a rest stop on the way 🤣 It was even longer when we went to Conner Prairie in fourth grade tho ngl.
Robbie the Robot definitely is from the 1956 SF classic "The Forbidden Planet". He did have a long movie and TV career afterwards, being recycled for the original Twilight Zone, Ark II, and more. He's also closely related to Lost in Space's B-9 (The Robot) since Robert Kinoshita helped design and build both of them.
I got to pet Benji in like 1975ish...there was a long line of kids and the rule was you could pat him on the head like twice then you had to move on 😆 Just looked it up and Benji died in 1975...I'm thinking that was an imposter Benji...otherwise they were trotting out poor old Benji when he was 17!!! Wtf?
I honestly don't think displaying mummys in mueseums is disrespectful.... The person that once inhabited the remains on display does not exist. You cannot disrespect someone who does not exist. However, it could be disrespectful to loved ones still mourning the death, and if you can find me a living ancestor who is actively mourning the death of an ancient mummy.... I will gladly retract this statement... :P
Regarding the mummy preparation --- when someone is dead, I'm pretty sure the brain is useless mush, certainly they're done with it? Early doctors thought the brain was used to cool the blood -- the heart and liver were considered more important. The best Indiana welcome center is in the north of the state, as you enter from the Chicago area along I94.
I think replicas in museums are best, especially because sooooo many artifacts and mummies are stolen and sold around. Cool replicas are easier than ever with 3D printing, and then real artifacts can still be donated by the proper people as well
I used to work in the Children’s Museum as a designer so this one was a little sentimental for me! Love what you do. Never stop exploring!
It’s a wonderfully designed museum

He’s not even from Indiana! Grew up in Ohio and went to Miami University. It’s weird we even claim him.
I needed me a little carpetbagger Today!
Benjamin Harrison s vice president Levi Parsons Morton is from my hometown. He accepted the statue of liberty on behalf of America.
I love when The Carpetbagger goes to museums and haves a great time. Have fun Jake!
I volunteered there for many years and did so in many exhibits. Love the place greatly.
Yay!!! Awesome to see you here in my state Jacob!! Alot of ppl suggested you come to the museum in Indy! One of my fav museums btw😎
Fantastic!! 🔥

That was a great museum!!! Very cool!!! Attaboy, Carpetbagger,!!!
Crossroads of America refers to Route 30 which goes from coast to coast and Route 41 from Upper Peninsula MI to FL and they cross in Schererville!
Welcome to Indiana!
While you’re there please tour the Speedway! It’s amazing!
I’ve never experienced a roller coaster of emotions from a movie the way I did with “Beji!” It was such a precious and innocent movie. 😭

How cool the museum has a great display of dinosaurs. Kids love 🦕.
I had one of those exact Starship Enterprise toys. If you turned the knob on the top, it fired plastic "photon torpedoes" across the room.

Benji was the first movie I saw with my family in 1974
Oh my gosh it has changed soooo much since I was little. 😞 I went to a prom there, too. It was awesome.
I remember old scruffy Benji. The movie was great, and I had a Benji bord game, actually.

You might check out the new super-hero museum in Logansport (either recently open or soon to open).

Benjamin Harrison only served 3 months of his presidency. So, he definitely didn’t wear out his welcome.
That carousel has an amazing history given all it’s been through since 1917. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broad_Ripple_Park_Carousel
Seems to me in this day and age they could make replicas of all the mummies and then give the actual mummies proper burials.
