We leave Canada for Inverness next week and this route will be the first of many during our two weeks in Scotland. Yes, I hope the weather will be as good for us. Thanks!
Thanks for watching mate - appreciated. Enjoy, i think no matter what the weather has in store it'll be a lovely journey. I'd love to get to Canada one day.
Thanks Geordie Lad. It bought back some nice memories of my trip to Wick in 2019. I agree, the scenery is so worth while. I took loads of photos from both sides of the Train. My favorite Station was Invergordon, because of the amazing artwork along the platform buildings. You couldn't spent a better 4 hours on a noisy train..
Hi mate, thanks for watching - appreciated, glad it brough back some memories
I live in Inverness, I’m lucky as like today (Sunday) I jumped on a train over to Kyle of Lochalsh for a mini day trip. The scenery was just absolutely amazing, I do these mini day trips to Kyle a few times every year, yet I haven’t travelled North of Tain on the Far North Line.. but watching your video, I’m making it my top priority! Thank you :) and the great news is catering seems to now be available on all lines with ScotRail after a huge recruitment drive along with seat reservations
Hi mate, thanks for watching - appreciated. Wow, you're very lucky - 4 great lines, spoilt for choice.
Thanks mate, that was us me (Henri) & Aidan. Great video can't wait to see your X99 in due course 👍👍
Hi mate, thanks for watching - appreciated. It'll be up soon
Not final destination. Leaves Thurso to Wick. Altnabrec is being closed temporarily as you have to go over private land to get to station and rail people to track as land owner not allowing access anymore. Lovely line as used regular but to Wick 4hr 20 and bus now 2hr 55 thanks to the bridges. Defo worth a trip. Beautiful run.
Did this trip a few years ago. The added bonus is that I had to do it again the next day, in the other direction.
Hi mate, thanks for watching - appreciated
You do know the Far North Line terminates at Wick? also there are seat reservations on the line too.
Thanks for watching mate - appreciated. I sure do, when i booked this reservations were not an option.
@@TheGeordieTravels usually when I book it’s done through the ScotRail app.
I have always wanted to do this route. I like Dingwall and Cromarty and spent a week in the latter a few years ago. Lovely area. Mind you that time I went to inverness on the train from inverurie as I live in the area, and it was a lovely ride on a lovely day. When you live in scotland, you don't realise this is all on your doorstep.
I love your trips
That's a lovely video - many thanks! It gave a really good flavour of the line. The Far North Line is amazing but underrated line! It's just as good as the West Highland Line and the Kyle line IMHO. I'm going to Wick next weekend - I managed to get a £17 return with ScotRail club 50!
Hi mate, thanks for watching, much appreciated. It is a beautiful route, by far one of my favourites and a journey I'd happily take again
I’ve never travelled on the Far North Line but I would love to not just because of the scenery but also it’s one of two lines in Scotland where you get to experience the old clickety clack noise of the wheels due to the line using the more old fashioned method of bolted rails the other being the West Highland Line
Avery nice presentation, Thank you
Thanks for watching - appreciated.
Fantastic video another one for my bucket list thank you ❤😊xx
Hi Pamela, thanks for watching - appreciated. it is a wonderful journey
Lovely. Thanks. I do the journey by road often. Wish I could have your weather. Rmb
Great vid. Thanks
hi maste, thanks for watching, appreciated.
Never been to Inverness, Thurso and Wick but it does sound really nice and the views on the Far North Line must be so incredible to watch.
Hi mate, thanks for watching appreciated as always
Can't go wrong with a good old Express Sprinter
try driving a 44 ton truck from inverness to wick and pick up at 4 distileries to take to spain like they said easy job
You would of thought Scot rail would of provided decent Trains for that journey of four hours such as providing HST’s instead of filthy old carts we’re very little catering or nothing at all 🤔
Hi mate, thanks for watching - appreciated. They're ok, really.
@@TheGeordieTravels Just made the journey last week. I thought the trains were fine and relatively comfortable, although I didn't like Inverness station much. The on train staff were brilliant and the price was more in line with continental rather than English fares... much cheaper.
Shame theres no first class
