Yeah it’s a good one for sure and only a small number were ever made so as time passes it might be even harder to find one . I’m actually doing a set of videos of my favourite lenses 🤓 stay tuned
@@FST0p I was trying to clean the rust on me Leica 90mm Elmarit and was having trouble. I got it back together but never figured out how to get to the actual blades. The last piece of glass I could not get out. Maybe I need to try a suction tool, idk.
@@picnicsinspace198 it’s always good to record or take pictures when working on an unfamiliar item and keep parts for segments separately. I’m sure there are service videos about the 90mm elmarit so you can work out the reassembly. The aperture can be tricky on some old lenses. Sometimes one can only get to it from the back .
@@FST0p yea I will have to take pictures next time. I looked all over for that lens being taken apart but your video and maybe another are the closest. The camera store quoted me $400 just to basically replace aperture ring ( which isn’t the problem) and that’s too much for me to pay with my meager moneys
What’s wrong with you???? Remove WHICH screw to unscrew the front lens group? You’re pointing to the red painted index mark! Is there a screw UNDER the red paint?
@@yinyino3738 There ISN’T one on my lens. The front group just unscrewed without any screw securing it. (I can’t be sure if ALL of these lenses are like mine)
@@yinyino3738 No. There isn’t any screw in my lens. (And it’s NOT the one up near the filter ring). The front group was just very tight to unscrew. But I got it off.
I sold mine last year. I should have kept it. A very special lens.

Unable to unscrew the first element. Any tips? It stays extremely tight.
Nice video. But...
... I am not able to dissamble the second lens group (@ 4´30"). The tube sits extremly tight. Any suggestions for me?
Be gentle with it . These old things can’t be forced 😬 I’ll try to make a video at the weekend 🤓
@@FST0p That would be great. BTW, I´m always gentle.😁
@@FST0p have u finished and released it yet?
Unfortunately, no. The tube doesn't move.😭
Wow...I fu*&ed up...lol, oh well
😳😳😳 how ?
