Modern Stock EFI 4 stroke bikes have extremely touchy throttle response and almost a dangerous torque characteristic right off idle. They do this to sell more bikes as a novice or amateur rider will touch the throttle and have an instant feeling of "Oh this bike fast af boi". Whereas a racer wants a smoother, almost easier response off idle to save their arms from pumping up for the next 20-30 min.
@@CmooreSinse I have, still very touchy throttle response off idle, in all maps. Try riding an early efi Honda, the throttle almost acts like traction control. You can ride it for laps without getting a pump.
I completely agree. Went from a carbed 2 stroke to a 2018 kx250 and that throttle response was so weird when I first started riding it. I actually had a DRZ400S I would sometimes ride trails and I honestly used to wring that things neck when it came to the throttle. It built and was so smooth where as my KX was jerking me around the trails behind my house and I was way more cautious. I really wanna get better on my kx because I know it can do so much more than what I'm currently capable of.
@@keelangerken5154 I’m going to have to agree with you man my old 05 crf 250r was like easy mode compared to some of the bikes I’ve ridden. They definitely orient the bikes these days for more low end torque, (except Yamaha I find they like to scream out) a few changes and you can move the power on a 250f to where ever you want
Though it was my throttle control on my factory edition! Whiplash everytime I try to take off, was like man I'm rusty! 🤣🤣🤣 Thank you for clarification, it's not me!
I love this but can y’all test somewhere other than glen helen . The rest of the country don’t ride on weird California dirt California tracks are an eye sore . Sorry if I pissed y’all off but it is true
Definetly a very technical track where it’s gonna need you to be comfortable in the bike vs like east coast tacky dirt where traction ain’t as much of a problem
Great analysis. It makes complete sense that the motor would be mapped to kick harder in the higher RPMs since that's basically where those guys live during a race. Full throttle or full brakes. Awesome video boys.
this is real motor journalism. thx for this, need more true compariosn
Brian Deegan was trying to defame you.

The realization that i never came into corners fast enough to bottom my suspension is not cool! Great video

Clearly you haven’t ridden a 2018+ Yamaha. Best linear power delivery of all manufacturers.

Always the best info! Thanks Josh!
Josh, MXA is lucky to have you, your purpose and passion shine through. 👍
Would be interesting to have a 3rd bike. Tricked out with all off the shelf aftermarket performance mods (not cosmetic)

I mean...diff tires diff track is a diff test but this is a bike test so who cares. Just trying to see how much better the PC bike is.
Upper Midwest dirt is superior.

Lookin at '23 KX250F at my local dealer now! Lots updates to already great motorcycle. 👍
stock motor pro chassis - i bet less than 1 second
Could you make the same video but with husky rockstar edition and normal edition 250 ?
4:10, amazing looking picture
Love the Versus series Josh 👊 👍
I love my Kawi ... and my Yamaha and my Honda and my Montesa.
Yeaaa get em all. I collect em too.
I thought Factory was just a sticker on side of your bike😅
Hahaha. I was at glen Helen when you guys were doing this. I was thinking to myself "oh look this guy thinks he's Joe shimoda" 😂
Sounds like you have to ride Joes bike like a two smoke!!!💪
Jerky throttle response pulls you out of ruts. Makes sense in supercross though i bet they have a bit more snap
So essentially it is a 4 stroke that feels like a 2 stroke
No not at all. No 2-stroke is faster than a modern 4-stroke around MX track . Period.
I can only dream to throw a leg over a PC bike one day.
Of course you are going to pump the pro circuit bike, you want a ride from Mitch you're not going to bad mouth his bike
Isn’t FACTORY really STOCK..?
Is this even a debate lol
Kx -F ..
F .. NO engañen a la gente.
Two stroke forever
KX250? Have we dropped the F nowadays?
Forget about the 4strokes show us the KTM300SX now you have the best of both worlds.
these are kx250f not kx250
They dont have the f anymore because they dont make 2 strokes
Please dont Write kx if its a Kxf Brooooo
I'm? Wow to yo nice race bike good.
Those are KX250f's, KX250's smoke!
These arent KX250s, they're KX250F's. 4 strokes dont do it for me, I was misled haha.
these are Not Kx250"s
Yes they are
They dropped the Fs since the no longer make the 250 in a 2 stroke.
Oh dang, the 250 cc displacement had me confused
U need to compare his current bike vs 2023 production bike
Wat year model is shomads bike
Wat year is Shomdas bike
That's not current factory bike his bike has SR on it this one dont
