Playmobil did a great job with their Ecto-1 and figures. All four ghostbusters fit perfectly with 4 Proton packs and electronics and sounds.
It's a great version of Ecto even with the back seats. I'm not sure if I'm going to get one for the guys though, I may just customize a Joe vehicle for them, or stand them in front of my Johnny Lightning Ecto. Thanks for the video Michael!!!

I knew when this came out so much sooner than the figs that this was a hasty re-tool just to make money on the Afterlife mould, and that the figures would have issues fitting. Gah. Hopefully the figures are good. If only the Playmobil one could fit the 4 inch figures...

The doors kept falling off of my 1984 Ecto-1 . Hasbro Customer service said they could not replace it, only send a refund check by snail mail. It still showed as in stock on Pulse, but they still would not send a replacement. I'm still waiting for the check and cancelled my pre-order for the figures. I'll skip this line.
Hey Michael, great video as always. Can I ask you a favor? Can you measure the total height of this vehicle? Check how tall it is from the highest point to the ground? And also the total length? Disappointed to see the figures won’t fit in very easily still got my Ecto in the box till the figures in the box. Still not disappointed I’m hoping this is the first of a series of movie I-ring figures and vehicles from Hasbro
I got mine in not long ago and it looks pretty great on the shelf. When my pre-ordered o-ring team arrives they'll be displayed beside the vehicle, not inside it. So it's not a problem for me, but I can see some people's issue.
Took mine apart to see about modifying those rear seats and doesn't seem worth the effort. There's not enough height in the vehicle for a standard figure to sit with legs bent in true sitting position, so it won't make a difference with shorter seats. Still have to crunch and interlock legs. Disappointing design.

This cost twice the price of the kenner classics ecto-1. I stick to collecting only the Real Ghostbusters line, and also the afterlife OG ghostbusters cartoon edition, since they're compatible with the kenner ecto-1. Besides, I already modded my kenner ecto-1 without drilling or glueing to get lights and sounds, farely easily. The only way I would get this and all the 4 o-ring figures is if all 4 could fit in the ecto-1, which they can't, as emily bader from Hasbro already confirmed, fit 2 in front seat, none in the back. Everyone thought the o-ring ghostbuster figures would be smaller/different from the gi-joe arah o-ring figures, but it's most definitely not so. The rear seats would have to be way lower, floor level and further apart to fit 2 figures in the rear and the legs must be stretched out instead of bending at knee. Your only option to achieve that is 3d printed interior mods that likely would be done by others.
There's no way this should cost twice as much as the Kenner Classics version.
@@MichaelMercy Amazon list kenner classics ecto-1 at $33, and the 1984 ecto-1 at $62, that's nearly twice. From where I am in Malaysia, I got the kenner classics at rm 139, and the 1984 ecto-1 goes for rm 320, it's already more than twice where I am from. hehe
I just meant they should not be charging twice the price for this.
Tremendous, I enjoyed this look at this Ecto 1. Yeah it's a bummer they did it that way; hopefully those 0-ring guys will be the size of that Lady Jaye. The Afterlife one has tempted me a few times but I never pulled the trigger (not story in mind for Ghostbusters yet :). I have a Hot Wheels Ecto 1 and right now it does the job just fine :)
