Really wish they'd make a Tekken x Mortal Kombat crossover with Killer Instinct guests. That'd be sick. I haven't played KI since Gold because I keep forgetting about it. Unfortunately, it's all about Tekken, Mortal Kombat, and Street Fighter these days. Though, I admit, I'm more into Tekken and Mortal Kombat than I am KI or SF. But between those two, KI is better.

But was removed since play testers said that she did look like Mileena so that she looked more unique and her own character.

They added every KI character ever. I guess they could add other Microsoft characters now like Doom Guy. But I guess that can be used for a sequel I guess.
gold was awful....but this xbox version does it epicly.....honestly i thought there would be no more new KI game since had not heard news for years ....google also recommended a KI Season 3(i think they meant KI 3 ?) because season make it sound like its a tv series//anime XD when i searched for "Killer Instinct Games"......EDIT: err when i say gold was awful, i meant in term of look compared to the SNES version...felt like a downgrade graphic wise

Yeah there is a free version where a character is rotated every week so you can try out the game, I think that's the version you got. If you want all characters I say to buy the definitive version of the game.

That's the point! The base game comes with Jago and a free rotating fighter! If you want more characters then you can do one of these three. 1. Buy individual characters 2. Buy each seasons roster 3. Buy killer instinct definitive edition which comes with all the characters

Even though i also just discovered the hole thing,there doesn't seem to be a lot of complex lore around this,they just went the special route of "just throw these guys in" and the roster evolved over the years with more and more bizarre characters. Technically it goes like: long ago 2 headed cyclops warlord and gargoyle warlord are in war with each other over earth. A couple of heroes gather and go throw both of them into limbo and the most of the world forgets about their hole thing after some thousands of years. Nowdays a company (I don't remember the name,ultratech was it?) goes "WE MAKE TOURNAMENT" and throw human/reptile hybrid,poor werewolf guy,killer robot for testing,living fire guy and an unlucky crushlander alien into it,each for different reasons. Also the 2 warlords are back and the heroes (or their ancestors) go to deal with them again. Also they got a living skeleton that laughs a lot and goes "i was fighting for all my life and had fun,so lets do that again!" and then u have all these guys in the tournament + one agent that tries to uncover the company's illegal secrets. They technically wanted to give a bigger variety on their characters i suppose and lore was never a priority. The older games had a grim atmosphere and simple attacks for everyone,with even some really weird cutscenes,my favourites been ancient cyclops warlord guy meeting a woman that "are you my son? I gave him this *certain item* at his birthday,he died in a car crush" and he replies " somehow,we think not *crushes skull with big spiky bat*" after thinking about it for some severe amount of seconds. It could be the low info i have,but this must be the core of the hole story,but you better ask someone who actually played the old games. Ah and i forgot,there is also the ULTRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA COMBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO from the narrator

The fans of the older games don't seem to like this one,as it is too futuristic and has nothing of the atmosphere the old ones had. I must like i like how unique it is,but they have lost their character with the redesigns according to OG fans.
