Plus I can't get one right now anyway with the corona pandemic going on and our non-essentials stores closed. So I'm therefore wondering if it's worth me ordering just the Blu-ray version of the new Skywalker Saga set or just stick with the 2011 Blu-ray set. Also, does the new release contain new features on the bonus discs or are they the same features as on previous releases? Sorry to ask so many questions.
So this has the Maclunkey versions and not the reissues of the 2011 versions. I say if you have the old blu ray set, stick to them. Once you get a 4k blu ray player then I would say it might be worth it to upgrade if not then stick to Disney plus because they are streaming them in 4k anyways. Hope that helps
@@paradoxnerd Okay thanks. I'll probably just stick with the old Blu-ray set then and watch the new versions on Disney+. I'll still get Rise of Skywalker on Blu-ray though as it hasn't been released on Disney+ yet.
I have all 9 films in 4K individually, but it’s also tempting to get this as well because this would be a good collectors item. And I get BB gift cards from work, so money wouldn’t really be an issue.
I wish this had Rogue One and Han Solo. What do you think, should I get this skywalker saga box set or should I get all 11 individual 4k Star Wars movies box sets?
Rumor has it is that they are releasing a big huge box set which includes Solo and Rogue one. I would wait for that one. We still have disney plus if you need to watch them in 4k. Thanks for watching!
The Paradox Nerd thanks for the advice! I think I’ll wait for that box set before buying them! But yeah I would go for the individual ones since the box set doesn’t have rogue one and han solo
Looks nice! Smart and classy move to use the McQuarrie art in the set. Can’t stand the photoshop poster art. Also, 4K is vastly superior to blu ray. The upgrade is incredible in sound too.
Didn't know the blu rays were hard to scratch but still cringe everytime I take one of the discs out just because the slots for them are really really tight.
@@paradoxnerd take them fully out and put them back in once and then they're looser, they pack them in really tight the first time (presumably so they don't fall out whilst being shipped)
It's impossible to get the discs out without having fingerprints and scraping through the paper on the back. They're held in place with magnets I think and require a lot of "force" to pull out. I came here to see if I'm missing a trick but seems like there's no way to safely get them out. I don't think they'll scratch easily but if you watch these often, all that scratching will add up.
The packaging looks cool but would give me anxiety removing the discs incase they scratch 😅 think I’ll just go for the regular Skywalker Saga Blu-Ray Boxset instead for the movies and extras discs. Eventually when I get a 4K tv I can always buy the 4K versions individually if I decide to upgrade.
I say wait. From what I heard from the grapevines... they are releasing a complete star wars box sets with all the movies including rogue one and solo. So hold out for that. That might be a better choice

This is a serous nit pick, but I grew up with prequel era. And watched the originals in special editions from the silver box set from 2004. So in my DVD cabinet, the prequels on the spine are shiny bronze and the OG are silver. There was something pleasing to see a color code difference of the two eras. I am bummed that not only have the new Disney era left behind that esthetic, but also the lack of the “episode” and Roman numerals in the titles and promotional material. As a side project I’ve been designing an imaginary box set release just to sate my appetite for this lose lol
Thanks for sharing this. Like always packaging looks great. I vicariously felt your pain when sliding those discs out. After getting the original OTS set of laserdiscs, special edition VHS set, special edition DVD set, special edition Blu-ray set, Complete saga set, and not being impressed overall with the sequel series I'm going to have to pass on this one.. or do I?
Thanks for watching Kunjiklub! Yah those discs were a pain in the butt to remove. Wish there was a better way. Tbh if you have disney plus and you have the previous complete saga blu ray already, you can pass on this set. 4k is nice but you have disney plus for it. Hope the review helped your decision
I picked this up. Was really considering not doing so but I was still rocking the 2005 special editions on DVD and hadn’t yet picked up The Rise of Skywalker (not that I really wanted to 😂). So basically, I was due for an upgrade either way. I’m more than happy to buy Solo and Rogue One separately. Also really hoping for a box set re-release of the Clone Wars here in Australia.
Packaging is cool, not a fan of how the discs are stored, complete saga in the UK and the bluray of skywalker saga are much better, the cases are plastic and can store discs more securely. That said its the only option to have all the films on 4k disc (disc>streaming) at a semi-reasonable price.
I don’t like the sequels either. But many didn’t like the phantom menace either. You just have to learn to accept the films for what they are, but you have to look at the positives. For example, the phantom menace may have not been great but it gave us Darth Maul. Naboo was a beautiful planet introduced to the franchise too. It’s one of my favorite planets in Star Wars. The sequels had lots of cool ideas too like Snoke’s Praetorian Guards (and despite how you might feel about Snoke’s untimely death, you have to admit the fight was at least cool). Sith troopers are cool. The battle on Crait was kinda cool. Just gotta live with it. I disliked what Ryan Johnson did but just be glad the saga is over and can’t be tarnished any further lol
Yah I'm with you Andrew Maddox. I try to look for the good in all Star Wars films but unfortunately, I can't find them in the sequels especially The Last Jedi and Rise Of Skywalker. Prequels had a lot of cringy moments but the one positive thing that they had was consistency which the sequels didn't have. I guess I'll live with them but it's really hard to.
The Paradox Nerd the movies can’t be undone so we might as well. The overall story of the sequels was poor, but I can at least say there were scenes I enjoyed.
The Phantom Menace will always have a special place in my heart. It was the first Star Wars movie I saw in theaters (I wasn’t born when the others came out) and I was obsessed with Queen Amidala/Padme. I love Darth Maul and Naboo as well. I come from a Star Wars loving family so of course the Original Trilogy trumps all but I can find something to enjoy in all episodes.
sequels have no redeeming qualities unless your brain shuts off in favor of fan girling... they literally told us to forget the past and kill it if we had to lol they literally toss the lightsaber off a cliff ffs. Merchandise painted red is cool? The battle of salt hoth is kinda cool? come on man
Still I prefer the older bluray set , to me the packaging and the case were of better quality. Might buy the new ones if the price gets lower and I upgrade to 4K.
The constant hate on the sequels is ridiculous. Most people wanna say they hate em cause it’s the popular things to do, knowing they bought em and watch me at home. Hypocrites....
@@Mike_Webb78 No man? The movie that was so unoriginal they copied the plot of episode 4? With worse characters and writing? Seriously? Its an embarrasment
When Disney makes Marvel movies, They always make a good job. When Disney Makes Star Wars, i think they say: uh, put action scenes only action, no story."
The Paradox Nerd son and I were watching the behind the scenes about New Hope. It’s crazy to think they wanted to pull the plug and how many issues they had.
This is just a repacking of the 2011 blu Ray's and the prequel and sequel blu Ray's. If this set had the video of episodes 4 to 6 that was in the 1993 definative collection laser discs set in 4K then I would've bought it. The Laserdiscs and Harmys despecialized blow Lucas's special editions right outta this Galaxy! May the Dark side be with you always!
I think the main cover, instead of the Death Star should have been a collage of all the characters. Also the individual concept art for each Episode I only really liked Ep2, Ep6, and Ep9. None of them really showed art of the main characters which I didn't like.
The last one came out in 2011 and for us in the UK we got a different style casing. We got a booklet with the same images and a flip case design for the blu-ray discs. We did however, get a limited still from RotS included I somehow managed to get 2 of the same still in mine, even though a friend of mine got the same boxset and got one still
Dude, I’ve always been an early adopter of any new Star Wars home video release in any format, but I gotta say... don’t care about the Disney ones, and I spent last year indulging myself in originaltrilogy.com, crafting my own box for my Despecialized Editions... and until Disney releases original theatrical cuts in 4k... I guess I’m good.
A $250.00 price point is a REACH from Disney Inc. Their choice. Not a wise one. Knock it down a least $100.00, Since i have yet to purchase a Star Wars Blu-ray box set, a lower price would compel me to purchase it. Your reaction when you got to The Last Jedi's chapter, seeing Rian's photo, i can so relate. I re-watched E8 a while back. I found that skipping through the Rey and Luke scenes, made me enjoy the film just a bit more than i did when i initially saw it. Overall, i wasn't really feeling the sequel trilogy. I feel there are some FANTASTIC concepts/visuals presented, for myself, they were all lost by generic direction and execution. All subjective i suppose.
I agree with everything you said. I can't watch episode 8 and episode 9. I really tried to but found myself skipping pretty much 90 percent of the movie. Disney really missed the mark with the sequels and I'm just glad that it's over before they tarnish the skywalker name even more.
@@paradoxnerd For myself, i hope, they will examine the success of the Mandalorian and continue on that sort of tone and cinematic vibe. I am hoping against all hope, that the powers that be at Disney hire Gareth Edwards and his team to conceive and execute some new SW content for Disney+. For years now, I have been wanting/wishing for a SW story to tell things exclusively from the Imperial's perspective. In addition, i wish D+ would release Edward's Director's edit of Rogue One. Imagine...
Just for reference, if you bought all movies on Blu-ray individually, they’d all be $30 each, totaling at $270. This of course is $250. I myself currently have the “complete saga” Blu-ray collection before Disney began the sequels, but as a huge Star Wars fan I feel obligated to get this (despite the fact I wasn’t impressed by the sequels).
Thanks for the info. Guess I save 20 bucks lol. I'm with you about being obligated to buy this set because I am a Star Wars fan (even though I wasn't impressed by the sequels myself) Just wish that it wasn't the case
I got episodes 3,4,5 & 6 in 4K individually. I already own episode 8 & 9 in 4K. To be honest I’m just a fan of of the original trilogy. But episodes 3 and 9 I find marginally entertaining but extremely flawed. Last Jedi was the worst experience I’ve ever had. Rogue One is boring but last 15 minutes aren’t bad. Didn’t even bother with Solo. Can’t believe anyone would actually pay $200+ dollars for so many bad movies. Episodes 1 and 2 are completely unwatchable to me.
I bought them because I'm a Star Wars fan. I enjoyed the first 6, maybe 7 and hated the last 2 movies. Regardless of how I felt with the last two, still love this box set and the aesthetics.
Me: These are already sold out in the capital of Canada where I live. Great job Disney Yoda: you are reckless Disney: for what?! Yoda: selling not enough copies you have Disney: and what are you supposed to do about it? Mace Windu: the senate will decide your fate
haha. i hear you. not sure why disney not send enough to Canada because they are still in stock in U.S. Great job Disney... you really know your market smh
I watched this to see if the special features on the new set are different to the old set or not. That’s 17 minutes of my life I’ll never get back. My question wasn’t answered in the slightest.
The Paradox Nerd I’m not that mad. The only thing that really bothers me is if people have a problem with the last Jedi ruining Star Wars people should have a problem with Rise of Skywalker ruining Star Wars. Anakin’s prophecy was to bring balance to the force by destroying Palpatine and abrams said I’m going bring him back.
@@cg02tx but anakin did bring balance. In fact when rey wakes up (palpatine battle), he says: bring balance to the force *as I did* .. so he actually did it.. remember that palpatine needed medical asistance and sith alchemy to survive... if not, he would have died. Anakin did bring balance to the force, such as Rey did. I still remember when the prequels came and old trilogy fans were freaking out because of the fact thag suddenly anakin was now space jesus. Now old prequel trilogy fans are freaking out because Anakin wasn't that unique to the universe.. people need to understand these cicles, probably in 20 years from now we will have sequel trilogy fans (children today) freaking out over the new sw movies in 2040.
It's not ATAT it's pronounced ATAT.. noob lol jokes.. Myself I've been a fan for around 25 years. And I absolutely loved all 9. The worst was the originals.. I'm entitled to my own opinion.
Snoke fight was so full of mistakes that it made the somewhat cool fight poorly made...
The battle of salt hoth is kinda cool? come on man
preordered ! thanks for unboxing nice review 🤓👍🏻 May the force be with you
Thanks for watching!! May the force be with you always!
Does it have English subs? i'm from Belgium
No its not ridicilous at all, the sequels are garbage
@ You know damn well you liked Force Awakens.
@@Mike_Webb78 No man? The movie that was so unoriginal they copied the plot of episode 4? With worse characters and writing? Seriously? Its an embarrasment
@@LeaveMyGun Ok dude. You’re obviously that guy.
I bet it's worth now at $112.99 at Best Buy now.
LOOKS GREAT, CONGRATS. YOU SHOULD PUT IT IN A GIVEWAY.👊🏽
Thanks man! Hmm. I might do it if I hit a certain amount of subs
Wow How much??
It was 250usd here. Got it from Best Buy
I know this is The Skywalker Saga but they should have included Solo and Rogue One, the latter being the best Star Wars film of the decade.
Did you leave it out in the rain or do you just have greasy ass fingers?
Wish it had solo and rogue one in the whole star wars saga
Totally agree. Those were the only 2 missing to make this the ideal set to get
When Disney makes Marvel movies, They always make a good job.
When Disney Makes Star Wars, i think they say: uh, put action scenes only action, no story."
They're IS STORY!!
@@benmalsky9834 yeahh
@@TruibderianChannel If you don't like it, that's fine, but I do and that's not bad. We're all entitled to our opinion, so that's all I have to say.
@@benmalsky9834 no but, my opinion, umm, i don't know, actually i can not feel like watching a star wars movie when I WATCH sequels
@@benmalsky9834 but I Respect all opinions
$250 plus extra $60 for "Rouge One" & "Solo"!
I know. Wish they included both movies for the $250 price tag
Ok and?
It’s still cheaper wtf
Nobody needs Solo
The behind the scenes make it so much better. The possibility of scratching the discs is poor engineering.
Yah can't wait to watch the behind the scenes. Agree with you bout the poor design of the disc slots
The Paradox Nerd son and I were watching the behind the scenes about New Hope. It’s crazy to think they wanted to pull the plug and how many issues they had.
They engineer it like that so when you scratch it you have to buy another one. Smart but so annoying
4-6 the original cut or Lucas’ bs cut??
latter with a few further changes
They can’t release the original cuts
Why would it be the old versions
This is just a repacking of the 2011 blu Ray's and the prequel and sequel blu Ray's. If this set had the video of episodes 4 to 6 that was in the 1993 definative collection laser discs set in 4K then I would've bought it. The Laserdiscs and Harmys despecialized blow Lucas's special editions right outta this Galaxy! May the Dark side be with you always!
I have both the cases and box set version of the movies and love the artwork by the artists of the consept art and by Ralph Macquarie and Doug Chiang
A $250.00 price point is a REACH
from Disney Inc. Their choice. Not a wise one.
Knock it down a least $100.00,
Since i have yet to purchase a Star Wars
Blu-ray box set, a lower price would
compel me to purchase it.
Your reaction when you got to
The Last Jedi's chapter, seeing
Rian's photo, i can so relate.
I re-watched E8 a while back.
I found that skipping through the
Rey and Luke scenes, made me
enjoy the film just a bit more than
i did when i initially saw it.
Overall, i wasn't really feeling the
sequel trilogy. I feel there are some
FANTASTIC concepts/visuals presented,
for myself, they were all lost by generic
direction and execution.
@@paradoxnerd
For myself, i hope,
they will examine the success
of the Mandalorian and continue
on that sort of tone and cinematic
vibe.
I am hoping against all hope,
that the powers that be at Disney
hire Gareth Edwards and his team
to conceive and execute some new
SW content for Disney+.
For years now,
I have been wanting/wishing
for a SW story to tell things
exclusively from the Imperial's
perspective.
In addition, i wish D+ would release Edward's Director's edit of Rogue One.
Imagine...
Last jedi isn't bad at least they had my favorite character yoda in it a good war story base besides lightsaber action I do like ships in battle
Boy, you're too lucky
Lol. I'm lucky to have you watch my videos. Really appreciate it
@@paradoxnerd thank you, if you want to check out my star wars fan film, just click my channel
Of course the put them selves in the box set lolololol
The first six Star Wars movies are the greatest ones. The Sequel trilogy are just nostalgic cash-in's.
amen .. amen
Awesome Video!!!
I like all of them
Me: These are already sold out in the capital of Canada where I live. Great job Disney
Yoda: you are reckless
Disney: for what?!
Yoda: selling not enough copies you have
Disney: and what are you supposed to do about it?
Mace Windu: the senate will decide your fate
haha. i hear you. not sure why disney not send enough to Canada because they are still in stock in U.S. Great job Disney... you really know your market smh
Love this I have it
TLJ rules
I want this one so bad
I'm still fucking pissed about TLJ. Will probably never forgive the people involved.
Sigh me too... me too
I loved all the Star Wars movies except the Last Jedi, Force Awakens.
Same. Except I love all the star wars movie except for last jedi and rise of Skywalker
The Paradox Nerd wasn’t a fan on AotC, TLJ, and RoS
Force awakens was basically plagiarism but I enjoyed it a lot, but that’s probably because a Star Wars movie hadn’t been in theaters since 2006
I watched this to see if the special features on the new set are different to the old set or not. That’s 17 minutes of my life I’ll never get back. My question wasn’t answered in the slightest.
I'm so sorry. I don't really watch the special features that much. I'll update you soon once I do
already on ebay,,,200 pound
Is it worth it?
Answer: yes!
i agree Darth!!
Lmao. It’s always hard to pull out bro

clone wars
then phantom menace
Terrible order
Clone wars or attack of the clones?
It looks dusty on the box
Offense taken
Sorry..
Also just seen this for sale for 200 but wanted to see what you get. It looks amazing! But that dics issue is very off putting. I'll have to think about it for that much money. Thanks for sharing
